Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know some details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what fixes have you tried?
where is you library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

If you are running Lion then all drivers are distributed through Software Update. You do not need to install anything, other than to install the printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan. If you already added the printer while it was connected using USB, you might want to delete it and set it up again wirelessly to avoid confusion. Or, give them two distinct names e.g. "Photosmart D110 (USB)" and "Photosmart D110 (wireless)".
All scanning functions are now performed using Preview, but you can also access the scanner through the same Print & Scan preference pane, or with Image Capture.

How do you save your photos in iPhoto and be able to find the photos when you are in different programs. When i try to find them I can only find the iPhotos not the individual photos.
Use the media browser. In every open/attach window in tithe lower left hand corner under media ==> photos ==> iPhoto

I was recently prompted to update iPhoto and make changes to the library. I did it but it keeps hanging up in step 5 or 6 and won't complete the cycle. I have used force quit, rebooted and started again several times. How do i get this to work?
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
If that fails:
Restore from your back up, repair the Library and try again. -
When I upload photos to iPhoto from my iPhone and then press delete from iPhone it does not delete them, how do I fix this?
I am having the same problems as this person. I see that someone said there is no way to retrieve the pictures once it gets stuck in recovery mode.
Then further along someone said that there are data retrieval methods except they have something to do with jail breaking a phone.
My phone is already jail broken. It was kind of a gift from the company I work for- it was a fellow employees before. He jail broke it and then it was given to me. After I got it I activated the 4 and tried to back up everything. It didn't work and "Springboard" forced the phone into safety mode. So I could use it with the old dude's apps and my contacts. I made the mistake of using the phone for wedding dress shopping with a friend. I took tons of pictures.
After this I found out the messages I was seeing meant it was jail broken. At&t said to force restore the phone - iTunes wouldn't recognize it in safety mode. I'm an idiot and didn't realize what this meant for my pictures. It didn't work (error 1611) - thankfully. Now it is stuck in recovery mode (iTunes icon and USB cable picture).
Can I access that media in any way? It never suceeded restoring itself so is it still there? The phone is jail broken already so is there a method I can use? -

No. All photos must be included in every sync - each time that you sync. If you copy the photos from the one library into the other library - and then select the new photos along with the current photos to sync - then they will all sync to the iPad.
if you simply choose the new library to sync, it will replace the photos currently on the iPad. -

im sorry to be a bit thick here i didnt know this was happening until i looked through all my photoes i use an sd card to put pictures on lap top and icloud from my phone but in library there are all web pages i have ever been to ie face book ebay etc i didnt know if there was any thing i should be turning off many thanks for ur last answer though

You should lose nothing.
However, this does not change the fact that you should ALWAYS have a backup copy of everything in your computer, including itunes.
You should ALWAYS make sure that your backup copy of your computer is up to date before any update, restore, etc. -
how does one keep the photo description attached to a photo in iphoto when that photo copies to a disc or flash drive?
the metadata transfers ok, it is the description of that photo that does not transfer.Use the File -> Export command and note the settings to write the metadata to the file on export.

I downloaded photos from my MacBook to my new iPhone4S. I discovered several duplicates and would like to delete them. I have not been able to figure out how to do so. Please help?
Thanks for your reply. Although I haven't tried yet, I think I will be able to use the photos on my phone, which have been paired, to find the dups in iPhoto and delete them there. Previously it was very difficult to search for and find the duplicates on the computer. Now I should be able to use the paired photos on the iPhone to find and delete the dups on the computer. Then I will sync the phone again. I think that should work; I hope you agree.
