Iphoto doesn't open anymore... help

I just click on the icon and nothing happens. The finder also doesn't show Iphoto library. What should I do?

That is like saying I have a garage at my house and I should be able to drive anything I want into it including a Mac Truck and being unhappy when the Mac truck was too high and too wide and destroyed your garage
iPhoto is a data base and you must learn to use it - you can NOT mess with its library (or any other data base's library) without high risk of losing data
You can NOT successfully use Lightroom and iPhoto together - Light room adds incompatible EXIF to photos and iPhoto will not work with them. You must choose one of the other - NOT BOTH.
You can NOT successfully use iPhoto if you muck around in the Iphoto library and make changes using other programs that are not iPhoto aware
You MUST learn to use iPhoto correctly or you will never be successful - millions are using it and several of the posted on this forum are both outstanding photographers and outstanding users of iPhoto - it is a great place to LEARN - but you have to listen. As long as you constantly argue and refuse to accept the assistance that you are being given you will continue to be unhappy and probably should go a different direction
iPhoto is a great program but YOU are the key to the successful use of it and YOU have to take the time to LISTEn and Learn - the program is NOT going to change for you and NOTONE in this forum could make a single change to it even if they wanted to - this is JUST a user helping user forum!

After upgrading to Aperture 3.4 it doesn't open anymore.

After upgrading to Aperture 3.4 it doesn't open anymore. Every listed suggestion in forums did not help.
After repairing till 99% Aperture closed. It happened with all my libraries, small and great. All of them can be opened in iPhoto.
After placing aperture.app to the trash can and putting it back to programs again, after a restart, I even couldn't find in preferences com.apple.aperture.plist file anymore. Apple please help!

How did you put it back to programs? The idea is to make a complete reinstall
The problem is:
There is a problem with the Aperture installer. In some cases the installation is not complete, if you update on top of a recent version.
For most posters here (there must be 20 and more discussions by now) it helped to reinstall Aperture after removing the Application from the Applications Folder and the reinstalling again.
If you installed Apperture initially from the boxed retail version, reinstall from the CD/DVD.
If you installed from the AppStore, download again from the AppStore.
If you unlocked the Trial or bought online previous to the AppStore, use the saved installer or download the Trial again.

Upgrade immediately after installing the previous version; you cannot open your current library with the previous version.

The Preferences are in your User Library, Preferences folder:
The User Library is hidden by default. You can reveal it from the Finder's "GO" menu:
Finder > Go, then hold down the options ⌥ key, until the Library appears in the drop-down menu, select it and open the Library folder. Then go to the "Preferences" sub folder and remove the file
your Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist.
But I'd try to reinstall first - removing the preferences will only be a temporary fix, and the crashing may occur again, if you do not fix the broken Aperture installation.

iLife '09 is not available as a download - it is only available as a purchase
iLife '11 is available as a DVD purchase and the compoments of it are available from the App Store (iPhoto '11 (version 9.1.5), etc)
Exactly what did you do? And exactly what does the error message say?
On the surface it appears that you are attemptying to open a new library with an older version (iPhoto '09 can not open an iPhoto '11 library for example)

Urazurrutia which operating system are you using? I would recommend removing and reinstalling Photoshop to restore the application. What specific version of Photoshop are you facing difficulties with?

Preview app doesn't open anymore after Maverick installation

Since Maverick installation, I can't open my pictures in Preview. The Preview application doesn't open anymore. Neither does the App Store, nor the 'software update'
Any idea what to do?

Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library", then go to Containers folder and com.apple.Preview and delete container plist. Now relaunch Preview and test.
EDIT: Oops, 10.7... it may be in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preview.plist. I'm not running 10.7 right now.

FC 6 doesn´t open anymore!!

FC 6 doesn´t open anymore. It seems to start opening, but disappears. I removed the "Final Cut Pro User Data" folder from the Preferences folder and the "com.apple.finalcutpro.plist". No success.
I formatted my computer and tried to reinstall FC. The same problem. It seems to start opening, but disappears. It doesn´t ask me for the registration number, nothing happens but if I try to install FC 5, it works!?!
What can I do?

Too late now, but this is the correct way to manually delete FCP Preferences:
Open a Finder window. Set the view mode to columns:
Click the house icon that has your name next to it.
Click the folder "Library" in the next column.
Find and click the folder "Preferences" in the next column.
Find and click the folder "Final Cut Pro User Data" in the next column.
Move the files "Final Cut Pro 6.0 Prefs", "Final Cut Pro Obj Cache" and "Final Cut Pro Prof Cache" to the Trash and empty it.
[Preference Manager|http://www.digitalrebellion.com/pref_man.htm] will back up a stable set of working prefs and can also be used to delete them with a couple of clicks. Go download it and while you are there, check out the other fantastic tools that they have on offer for Final Cut Pro users.

Use it to clean out all the hidden and hard to find files that FCS puts on your machine.

•Go to the following location in the Finder:
Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/Pro Apps. Delete the file: *Final Cut Studio User ID*.
Go to: Hard Drive/Library/Receipts and delete all the FCS related .pkg files.
Now try the installation of FCS 2 again. When it is done, use Software Update to get the latest version and patches. Use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions on your system disk and restart the computer when it's done.

Yes, Acrobat 8 does not support Image Capture (ICA). Only way to scan using Acrobat is through TWAIN. Please contact HP to find out if they provide TWAIN driver for this scanner on Mavericks.

Check out the article below on troubleshooting iTunes start up issues. You may need to start up in Safe Mode or even remove iTunes and its associated software and reinstall iTunes.

Incredimail doesn't open anymore - directly after firefox install

after the installation of the 4 beta 7 version my incredimail doesn't open anymore. I see the icon in the system tray, i can download mail headers etc, but the main screen doesn't open anymore.

Try a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
