IPhoto doesn't start in Repair Mode with Camera plugged in

I just noticed that iPhoto will not launch Repair Mode when a camera is plugged in. Holding down Option-Command while starting iPhoto has no effect in this case. There is no mention to remove the camera, it just starts regularly.

Not a question, just a statement.
I was looking for troubleshooting and search didn't produce this answer. So I thought I write it down for every1.

Thanks for these suggestions: I have tried safe mode re-starts (both "verbose" and simple "shift" + power) to no avail. I get the error message "disk0s2: media is not present". Following this I inserted the installation disc and from there ran disc utility. The "Verify Disk" indicated an error " invalid sibling link" which it could not repair.
I also tried to completely re-format/erase the disk, but again got an error message "disk object invalid or unable to serialize".
Any ideas of what could be causing this or the best solution? I fear I am fast running out of options.

Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:

from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash. Test.

Haha. I just restarted it and it worked. Instead of turning it off and on. But thanks.

I removed it and I tried several times to reinstall it without success.

Some of your user files (not system files) have incorrect permissions or are locked. This procedure will unlock those files and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):

My Java Web Start doesn't start when my internet connection is not on??? I have a program that needs also offline access so it's crucial to get JWS work without internet connection as well.
The problem might be in those sun's example programs you can't remove? Maybe the program crashes when trying to get some information for those programs?
(please read the question well. My problem IS NOT in the .jnlp-files <offline-allowed/>)
And by the way those sun's demo programs that are supposed to start in offline mode(Internet connection not required) don't start even if you have started them once with the connection on.....

IPhoto 5.04 doesn't start (iMovie also). Problem: right of access. Disk utility doesn't find any problem but pacifist does. Message : /Library - Modus is 1775, the package indicated 775. How can I solve this problem?

the programme run before, let's say 1 month before.
Discovered the mistake today. I also updated iPhoto and I tried to reinstall it today - without any success. Strange: Disk Utility and iMovie don't start too. In the interim between running and not running iPhoto I checked the files with OnyX and Xupport 3.0. Pacifist shows the same mistake for all the non starting programmes - but Disk Utility (from system CD) doesn't find any mistake.

J2ee server doesn't started in debug mode

Hi.
I set J2EE server debug mode using configtool and I try to start J2EE.
At that time, dispatcher, SDM process started successfully but server process doesn't start.
SAP MMC has "waiiting for start" status for server process.
Any ideas ?

Right aside the Enable Debugging checkbox in the configtool, there's a 'Restricted Load Balancing' checkbox. As I remember, in some version of the J2EE engine, you need to invert its state in order to get debugging to run.

Tecra S2 doesn't start in battery mode

Hi,
I purchased Tecra S2 last week. When starting up in battery mode a few hours after having worked with netpower , I only get an orange light for the battery LED but the notebook won't start up. I have to take the battery out, put it back in, connect to netpower and only then it starts up.
However the battery seems loading. When I work with netpower and I disconnect netpower, the notebook still functions on battery.
Any suggestions what could be the cause and what todo?

The unit is brand new and it should works properly. In my opinion you should contact your local seller and tell him that you want to have a new unit. As far as I know you have 14 days return quite.

Laptop doesn't start - automatic repair does not work

When I start my laptop automatic repair appears at the bottom of the screen. This makes the screen turn blue, nothing else happens. Any ideas?

Thank you for your comments. They seem to come straight from Toshiba, but perhaps I am being a bitcynical. I posted my reply to save otherpeople wasting their time.
I fail to see why a machine not booting up is a softwareproblem, especially when the machine is new and has not had any other softwareput on it that is not on other makes of machine. There is no reason for it to fail to startup.
The problems I encountered were with the McAfee softwarethat was pre-installed on the Laptop when I bought it. I know this because Ihad to sort them out with my security software provider, Kaspersky, whom Iwould recommend unreservedly.
I also felt the service offered by Toshiba support wasdisgraceful. If they know there aresoftware problems, which they clearly do as the told me immediately I phonedthat they could solve it there and then, why haven’t they attempted to iron outthese problems, rather that waiting until customers are inconvenience then chargingthem 89for a one off fix.
If you are a genuine user I did want to save you some timeas I have sent my comments to Toshiba and they have, in the best spirit ofcustomer service, ignored them and failed to respond.
You can do this yourself if you like, but it does taketime.

I did some updates including for iPhoto this morning.
After that my iPhoto stopped working!
My mac is OSX 10.6.8
Can anybody help me???

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.

Satellite A300 Vista doesn't starts - no cd/dvd with backup

I have a big problem with Toshiba a300. Windows Vista doesnt's starts.
Shows only menu with 2 options: first "fix the system" - when I choose this option 10 s later I see messeage: click OK to turn off the computer;
when I choose second option my laptop restart everytime.
I have tried after turn on computer to press f8, but all option from this menu do NOT fix the problem.
I have no CV/DVD for my computer.
After first starts I don't burn DVD with backup.
I really don't now how I can install system with recovery patriction. What softwere I need and how I must do it?

The Sat A300 and other newer notebook models are equipped with the HDD Recovery option. This HDD recovery should allow you to recover the notebook without the usage of any disks.
In order to start the HDD recovery procedure you will have to press F8. Then choose the first option called Repair my Computer. Then new window will appear and there you have to choose Toshiba HDD recovery. Thats all.
But if this procedure wouldnt work (no matter why) then you will have to use the Toshiba Recovery disk. If you didnt create a recovery disk firstly and the notebook will not boot up then you will need to buy a Recovery disk from this page:

Integration builder doesn't start after repairing OS

Guys,
I am trying to trouble shoot this problem for the last one week. Have no clue. I posted it in XI board too. Not much help till now.
Every thing was working fine till i messed up my OS. I repaired my OS(windows 2003).
I am able to start XI. but when I tried to start IB(integration builder ). the bowser displays "page cannot be diplayed". I pinged my host . there is no problem. I made sure proxy is not set in the web start. I see one thing though. I was looking at my ip addresses. I hace a loop back adaptor and a my normal network card. After logging into to XI I clicked on status and the more button. There I can find the Ip address of the server whick is the ip address of loop back adaptor.
I really appreciate any response...coz i am babging my head on this for a week..

I had exactly the same problem. After discovering that 'Cummulative patch for XI TOOLS 3.0 SP11' miraculously disappeared from download area in SAP Marketplace I decided to undeploy whatever was possible from this patch (com.sap.aii.security.ws.proxy, com.sap.xi.directory, com.sap.xi.ibresources, com.sap.xi.repository, com.sap.xi.rwb and com.sap.services) and deploy 'Support Package 11 for XI TOOLS'.
Both Integration Builder links (Repository and Directory) are working again.
Another question is valid now: How to fix whatever Note 825655 supposed to (Patch 1 for SP11 XI3.0 contained fix described in this note)? I'm hoping that SAP Support could solve this problem soon.
