IPhoto doesn't work as well as before

I updated my iPhoto to 9.4.3. When I ran the application, and slided some photos. I noticed that the movement wasn't as smooth as before, evenmore iPhoto lagged sometimes. Does anybody in here have the same problem? It annoys me when I want to slide some photos in a succession. If others don't have the problem, how can I tell Apple? I am using 13-inch Macbook Air 2012 model. Thank you for your attention

I remembered, when I downloaded for this update, The download failed for 3 times. Would this affect my iPhoto?
It is a possibility.
But before you reinstal, check if the slowness you are observing is caused by your iPhoto Library, the settings in your account, or a system wide problem.
First of all, how full is your harddrive? If it is getting too full, less than 10GB free or so, multi media applications like iPhoto will slow down.
Do you see the same slowness, when you are using a different iPhoto Library? (create one for testing, if you only have one library).
Do you notice the same slowness, when working from a different user account (see: Isolating an issue by using another user account)
If iPhoto not lagging, when browsing a different library, your current iPhoto library is causing this; maybe you have a corrupted image or video in your library.
If iPhoto does not work in your account at all, but from a different user account, your preference file may have become corrupted.
If iPhoto does not work in any account, try safe boot mode: Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? and test iPhoto there.
Post back with your test results.

wifi doesn't work very well since ios6 download.  Worked fine before update, help please

I reset modem and router.  Still have the same issue.  I have a laptop connected to the network as well as a PS3.  Both are working great.  Did a Speedtest app test on iphone.  With 3g it was working good.  When i switched to wifi, it was trying to get the ping test accomplished, and could not.  it was stuck in the ping test at 0% for a long time and never progress.

  • My home button doesn't work very well, I reset and restored my Ipod but it still doesn't work

I've had this 4th gen. IPod since about mid-June, and it worked fine up until about a month ago.  The home button doesn't work very well, and by that I mean if I'm in an app and hit the button once, it won't respond, or it'll think I hit it twice.  If I hit the button twice, it either won't respond, or it will think I hit it once.  I took it to the Apple store where they reset it.  They said that if that didn't work, then to restore it.  Well since resetting it didn't work, I restored it, and that didn't work either.  I've had the same generation IPod before and never had this problem.  Any advice?

  • The left part of the screen doesn't work very well

The left part of the screen doesn't work very well. It's hard to erase a letter, and impossible to me to insert the "P".
Does it means that I need to replace the screen? Or there is a other solution?

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.
If you've gone through ALL the troubleshooting steps and you're still having the problem, then you most likely have a hardware issue and will need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

  • IPhoto doesn`t work correctly with german "umlaut" (ä,ö,ü) in keywords

iPhoto doesn`t work correctly with german "umlaut" (ä,ö,ü) in keywords. They get to ä̈,ö̈, ü̈ when I write the keyword a second time. Can anybody tell me why. Thank you. Heinz

It apparently does not like non-standard English characters - use A-Z and 0-9 adn you should be OK

My Iphoto doesn't work after installing lion.
it suggest that I have to instal iphoto again.
    where can I find this

If it suggests that you install iPhoto again, install iPhoto again. In your Macs Box that it came in there should be 2 Discs, one is an Applications CD (You need this one) And another is the Mac OS X.
Insert your Applications CD and hold C while the computer is starting up, then you will be walked through the installation of Applications.

my iphoto doesn't work, it just keeps loading and never works. what is wrong and how do i get it to load?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Will I lose my photos in iPhoto if upgrade to a latest version? I have upgraded my system to Mavericks and now my iPhoto doesn't work. Can anyone help, please?

Will I lose my photos in iPhoto if upgrade to a latest version? I have upgraded my system to Mavericks and now my iPhoto doesn't work. Can anyone help, please?

    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

why does fcpx suddenly stops reading audio files? ever since i upgraded to Yosemite. Than when I check it on my hard drive it doesn't work as well. Only this file. Am in a trouble of delivering now. Any help?

Could be systems logs or some other system file growing.
Use OmniDiskSweeper or DaisyDisk to map what's being used.

  • My Iphoto doesn't work. Suddenly I lost all my pics. Someone know how to repair it?

My Iphoto doesn't work. Suddenly I lost all my pics. The version is the last one.
Someone know how to repair it?

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • AirPlay does not work with iPhone 4 s or iPad.Remote doesn´t work as well

AirPlay does not work with iPhone 4 s or iPad.Remote doesn´t work as well.
WLAN is working, I can use Youtube on my AppleTV, but I can´t connect to my computer or use airplay on my iPhone or iPad.

Something is not configured correctly that is creating issues with your AppleTV.  You can disconnect it from the TV and power, and then plug it into your computer with a micro-USB cable.  After launching iTunes on your computer, you will be able to restore it to default settings and upgrade the software.

Are you running Snow Leopard or Lion?  Your info says Snow Leopard.  If it's lion then:
In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
Then you can locate the folders mentioned.

  • IPhoto doesn't work on iPod Touch

    Hi there,
On my iPad 2, I bought iPhoto. But I can't find it on my iTouch.
Can it work on iPod Touches? When I went to "Purchased" in the App Store, I saw iPhoto, but when I clicked on its little cloud to download it, I got a notification saying it doesn't work on my iTouch, and I need a "digital compass"? I have no clue what that means.

    The requirments say:
    Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation) and iPad Wi-Fi + 4G.Requires iOS 5.1 or later
Note, the iPod touch is not included.

  • What's going on with ios8... Screen rotate does not work anymore, wifi doesn't work very well anymore and apps are crashing or running slow... Come on Apple sort this mess out

ssince I updated my iPhone 5s to ios8 ive had nothing but problems...
first the the screen rotation is not working... Checked the settings and  lock is off.... The wifi is intermittent, some times it works sometimes it doesn't....
the he iPhone is really slow now, like really labouring.... It hangs and crashes all the time.... I have to close apps down completely because they won't work from quick launch anymore.... Even writing this the phone is labouring.... It's like my old 48k spectrum.... I don't expect this from Apple and when you spend £400-500 on a phone you expect it to work and play propperly....  come on Apple you need to sort out this mess of a update.... Ios 7 was no bother......

Same issue here... iphone5S 64GB.  It's intermittent.  Sometimes the rotation works fine, sometimes it doesn't, but most of the time it doesn't work.
The first time I figured out it wasn't working was when all newly-taken photos and videos were showing up in portrait mode though I always hold in landscape mode when photographing.
Rotation lock is disabled (tried toggling it on and off).  Tried recalibrating the compass on a whim, no effect (although my compass seems to always require calibration when it's launched now).
This issue only started happening after upgrading to iOS8.  I did a reset/restore through iTunes rather than an OTA upgrade.
UPDATE - power-cycling the phone seems to fix it temporarily.

  • Downloading new photos - iPhoto doesn't work after upgrading to Yosemite

    Hello,
Since I upgraded to Yosemite, iPhoto has stooped working after downloading photos from my Sd card.
Some picutres downloaded are black while some others are ok, but in any case I have to restart my iMac because every apps running can't be used anymore.
That happens only with iPhoto, after downloading, instead normally it works.
Now I use Aperture and everything is fine but I'd like to figure out why iPhoto acts like that.
Do I have to trash it?
    Thank you.
    Fabrizio

There have been a number of reports on here from folks with Raw issues after updating.
    This thread:
RAW files suddenly show up as "not supported" (Aperture 3.5.1, OS X 10.10)
explains how to delete and reinstall Raw support. It has worked for others.
