Iphoto email doesn't recognize my username/password combination
Iphoto 11 cannot send email -- username/password combination not recognized. Genius bar could not solve
Uusally the solution is to go to the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts and delete the account and re-enter it
IMHO the better so;ution is to set Apple Mail as the e-mail client in the iPhoto general preferences and quit using iPhoto as the e-mail client and use mail

Delete and recreate your email settings.
Alternatively, use Apple's Mail for the job. It has Templates too - and more of them.

It sounds like there may be an issue with the email account you have setup on your iMac. I would recommend running the Connection doctor in Mail:

When I try to send a photo from iphoto it says it doesn't recognize my user name/password combination and I'm pretty sure I have those listed correctly. Is there some setting I've entered incorrectly?

i-Photo won't let me e-mail pictures. I get the above error message even though the username/password is correct. I'm using the latest version of i-Photo and OS 10 Lion.
What e-mail client are you using? If it is iPhoto then the UN/PW are in the iPhoto preferences under accounts
If you are using Mail (which i personally recommend - set it in the iPhoto preferences) then they are in the Mail preferences under accounts
for otehr e-mail clients they are in various other places

I have filled out an iPhoto "postcard" format with a message and photo, etc., and when I hit send, I get the message "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination." I hit OK but it does not clear to refill the log-in -- and I believe the info was correct to start. I'd like to save (and not have to re-crete) the card, but see no way of doing so, thus am fearful of closing it (for good).

I realised the problem was your incorrect use of the apostrophe 's', as in 'photo's using'.
I just could not make any sense of this sentence at all, until I realised that you meant to write, "What does it say behind "email photos using". What you employed was the possesive use of the apostrophe - a mistake that seems to have become endemic in english speaking nations during the last 10 years or so, brought on by the lack of understanding basic english grammar. This has come about because of sloppy teaching methods the world over - it's not really your fault.
It's quite simple: The apostrophe 's' should be used as the following examples show:
James's apple, the car's horn, the world's atmosphere. The one exception is 'its shape,' where there is no apostrophe showing posession because that construction has been used as an abbreviation to 'it is', as in 'it's'.
Plurals (more then one) NEVER have an apostrophe! E.g. CDs, eggs, biscuits, vehicles, UNLESS to show possesion - a CD's label, the biscuit's taste, a vehicle's colour.

The username and password are set in the Accounts section of the Mail application. Start Mail, select preferences and select Accounts. Then make absolutely sure that the username, password and outgoing mail server are entered correctly. -

Have you tried to delete the account from your Preferences and to Re-Enter it? That usually will help.
If not, try to use "Mail.app" as mail client in iPhoto and not iPhoto. Change the the stting in the Preferences > General tab to "Email photos using Mail". This is usually more robust thanthe setting "iPHoto". -
IPhoto 9.6: email server didn't recognize your username/password combination
Every time I try to send a photo from iPhoto via e-mail I get "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination." I have removed and recreated my iCloud account several times from the Preferences pane, and even tried various combinations of @mac.com, @me.com & @icloud.com. No dice. Any ideas?
If I switch it to use Mail to send the photo it works fine. I don't want to do this, though, because I want to use the formatting features from iPhoto.because I want to use the formatting features from iPhoto.
Have you looked at the photo startionary layouts offered in Mail?
