IPhoto & epson 4800 printer

When i print FULL PAGE 8.5 x 11 prints i can't get equal top/bottom margins (in other words the print doesn't center onto the paper. In page set-up I've tried creating a custom size with 1.43cm top/bottom margins. once i get back into iphoto to print it loses the settings. Any advice? Thx.

Here are a few things to try:
1. Run Software Update as there were a number of new Epson drivers added on 12/15. This should update your driver to the latest version. See if the problem continues.
2. If it still does have the issue, remove and re-add the queue.
3. If the issue still occurs, reset the printing system by:
a. Control-click or right-click a print queue in the "Printers" pane.
b. Choose "Reset printing system..." from the contextual menu.
c. Click "OK" in the "Are you sure..." confirmation sheet.
You can follow the troubleshooting steps in these Apple articles:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669?viewlocale=en_US
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3771
If all of this doesn't work, you can see if the issue is with the user account or system wide by creating a new OSX user account and see if that user has the same issue.
Let me know if any of these steps worked for you.

  • Epson 4800 Ethernet IPP Network Cant Add PRINTER SETUP UTILITY

    Greetings!
    Any known issues?
    Does anyone have this working??
I am having a time TRYING to ADD a new Epson 4800 printer, Epson Ethernet card onto new Mactel laptop and new quad G5 (both 10.4.7).
Epson NetConfig Utility sees the printer and set an IPP address.
However, Apple PRINTER SETUP UTILITY Add IP printer isn't working.
I had qualified Epson support taking me through the steps...he said some issues with the Intel books, but that doesn't explain why the G5 isn't working.
Three hours yesterday and I'm back on it later today...any tips/info appreciated.

    Hi all,
I recently bought an Epson Stylus DX4850 and I'll be damed if I get the thing installed on my Intel based Mac! This is driving me mad, I've been told that it is compatable. I've downloaded all the drivers from the Epson website but when I go to add the printer it's not listed. Does this mean that I need to use a different driver or gimp driver?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and would prevent me from going insane!
    Many thanks, Jon

  • Epson 4800 USB connection unrecognised

Epson 4800 print perfectly on direct USB connection to MacBook Pro with the 9.17 Epson driver, but when connected to USB port on the Time Capsule, there is red sign and notice that the printer is unconnected. Both the port of the Time Capsule and the cabel are OK. Time Capsule is correctly recognised on the local WiFi and set with correct password. USB port is working for other printers correctly. Just the 4800 is not recognised. I tried everything (deleting the printer and reseting all printers too)...
Any help would be much appreciated.

hi I have been plagued by this recurring problem for ages finaly seem to have solved it by going to print when drop down page to print comes up click on box a top of page showing your printer from the drop down list go selsct add printer Another pop up box will highlight your printer and select IP at the top of the page. Then in protocol select Internet Printing Protocol - IPP which is the correct one for all modern printers. This resolved the problem for me after months of trying Richie

  • I am trying to print a color photo on my MacBook Pro from iPhoto (not using Photoshop) using Epson 2200 printer, and everything I do in the Color Matching and Print Settings results in a photo with a pink cast to it. What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to print a color photo on my MacBook Pro from iPhoto (not using Photoshop) using Epson 2200 printer, and everything I do in the Color Matching and Print Settings results in a photo with a pink cast to it. What am I doing wrong?

Have you checked the ink cartridges and made sure the nozzles are clear? Are you able to print from outside of iPhoto with the correct color?
Try the following: make temporary copy of the library and do the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • Problem printing from cs6 photoshop to epson stylus pro 4800 printer

Has anyone had trouble printing from cs6 on a mac running lion to a epson stylus pro 4800 printer?   I keep getting an error message saying  "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents.""   The computer sees the printer just fine and has the latest driver installed. I have removed it and reinstalled it many times . I need help with this.

Yes, the menu items are not unavailable. We were already aware of the "Reveal Arrow" issue under OSX v10.5.3. The most important print menu items such as "Print Settings" and "Color Management" are simply not present. As previously stated we've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest (v3.66) "Universal" print driver on both hosts and all of our client Macs. A resolution to this problem is very urgent as our semester begins this week and currently students can not print their next week assignments.

  • Printing Problem from LR5.3 to Epson 4800

When trying to print to 13 x 19 paper on either of 2 Epson 4800 printeres, the margins and cell size set are ignored and the printers produce a roughly 8 x 10 image in the corner of  the 13 x 19 paper. I've tried from 3 different iMacs and 2 different printers (this is a school lab). Paper setting is Super B/A3, though I've also made a custom 13 x 19 paper size and that produces the same error. If I print to 8.5 x 11 paper (with appropriate settings), it works fine. It's only to the 13 x 19 paper that the problem occurs. Everything looks good in the print preview window. Has anyone had this problem or have an idea for a solution?

    Fauxto,
I am having the exact same problem with 13 x 19 paper on my R2880, working in lightroom 5, iMac Osx 10.8.5. I did not have this problem before I upgraded to LR5 and Osx 10.8.5.  I am still searching for a solution. The problem is erratic. I got lucky and printed a 12 x 16 on 13 x 19 paper yesterday, but after printing some 8 x 10s the 13 x 19 problem returned. I suspect that LR5 and Osx are not playing nicely. This is unacceptable in terms of inability to deliver the finished product to my customer and a very expensive waste of paper and ink.
There must be someone out there having the same problem. I would think Adobe is aware of this issue. Someone PLEASE HELP !!!

  • Printing incorrectly to Epson 4800 and 9900

I've recently started having printing problems printing to my Epson 4800 and 9900.
On the 4800 every time I print, the 1st print comes out dark. Then if I print again with the same settings it comes out fine every time. I've been putting in a sheet of regular paper to "fix" the problem for now, but would like to fix it properly.
On the 9900 I have the same problem only it's not dark but the wrong color. This is only happening on one computer (mine) on others it seems to be printing fine. In fact we started using an old mac here because it prints correctly every time.
It's not a profiling issue or setting issue. Been doing this for a long time----1st I've seen this.
I've run disk warrior and have replaced the print driver, but problem is still there.
    Mac/Power PC G5/Non-Intel/10.4.11
    Any help is appreciated!
    Jim

That's a great idea. I tried that and the 1st. print turned out dark again. The next was correct. I've been quitting photoshop and restarting and it seems to print fine now. I've logged into my original acct. and is printing fine. Unfortunately, having intermittent problems are worse than it not working at all. If I have a client come in and I print it I wont know if the subtle color changes are there file or my weird printing problem. I'll post back if/when it returns. I assume it will start again on Mon. You know, just because it's Monday.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Epson Stylus Pro 4800 Printer Sharing Broken

We have 2 Epson 4800 printers, each attached via USB to it's own dedicated iMac (Intel OSX 10.5.3 w/ Epson SPR4800 Universal Driver v3.66). The iMacs have printer sharing turned on. The printers are shared across our ethernet LAN to approx 50 other Mac workstations. Over half of those are PPC G5 PowerMacs the rest are Intel MacPro's. All are running OSX 10.5.3 with the latest Epson 4800 Universal Driver v3.66.
Our problem is most of the printer control menu items are missing from the print window when client Macs attempt to print from Photoshop CS3 using Photoshop color management.
We've tried unstalling and reinstalling the lastest universal driver both on the host iMacs as well as the client PowerMac's and MacPro's. Any comments on why this happening and suggested remedies would be much appreciated.

  • Problems printing out of PS CS5 with Epson 4800 using latest epson driver

This is my first post here at the forum.
    Has anybody experienced the following:
While printing out of Photoshop CS5 12.0.1 with an epson 4800, using the latest driver (6.65), the following happens:
Around the document, the printable space is filled with a very light colour.
(If I print an emty canvas, the canvas will not be printed  - as expected - but around, the paper shows ink.)
I already talked to Epson about the issue.
We went through the whole printer reset, to make shure it´s not a driver issue)
The picture shown is printed several (5-6) times to better see the problem.
I did not select to print a background in the print dialogue.
Does not matter if PS 32bit or 64 bit is used.
    OS is Snow Leopard 10.6.4
(Rosetta is installed, but should not be needed)
So, has anybody had similar problems?
    Is there a solution?

Look at this new driver update..  Will test as soon as my new cartridges arrive..

  • I can't print from iPhoto on my new Epson XP820 printer.  Any suggestions?

I can't print from iPhoto on my new Epson XP820 printer.  I can print from other applications, like Word or Mail.  Any suggestions?

Did you check software update or App Store to see if the printer is among
those Epson models who may have an update download available now?
Of course, some of these printers, even though wi-fi, may require the wire
to set them up for first-use, to be identified. Both my Epsons appear twice,
for wi-fi and again with USB. So I named each appearance, different. So it
is possible to tell in more than one way, which setup that was selected. A few
features do not correctly work in instances where drivers differ.
The latest Epson update helped my newer computer connect to oldest Epson.
Even though a 1.3GB huge Epson drivers file did not help, & OS X didn't see it.
Hopefully the they included an adequate quick-setup guide, though that may
have been for Mavericks, etc. Yet your iPhoto issue may be something else.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • IPhoto will not print a photo on Epson DX7450

I have a client who has a new iMac that originally ran Tiger and printed photos in iPhoto '08 using an Epson DX7450 multi function printer - all was just fine. Recently, they upgraded to Leopard and now running 10.5.5; sadly now photos in iPhoto will not print - other programs are not affected, just iPhoto. The Epson has the latest drivers and Epson suggest that the issue lies with iPhoto. Any suggestions welcome please. They do not want to use a different photo library application!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First try the easy fix: close iPhoto, delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and see if that helps.
Next, if necessary, log into another account on the Mac, create a new library if necessary, import a picture and see if you can print from there. If not then a reinstall of iPhoto seems warranted. In that case you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder.
If iPhoto prints OK in the other account then the problem is with your primary account. It could be a preference file other than iPhoto's. Here's how to determine if that's the case:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard
1 - Create a folder titled "Preferences A" on the Desktop.
2 - Open the working Preferences folder, HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences, and move the contents to the Preferences A folder on the Desktop.
3 - Make a duplicate copy of the Preferences A folder on the Desktop as a precautionary backup.
4 - With the working Preferences folder empty run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
NOTE: you may have to drag the contents of the working folder to the trash and empty if moving the contents to the A folder only copies them instead of moving.
5 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
B - Open the Preferences A folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here.
6 - If the problem is NOT fixed, empty the working Preferencess folder and move the contents of the Preferences folder on the desktop back into it.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Printing from iPhoto 08 on Printer Epson Stylus Photos Rx 500?

Up to before I purchase a new 20" Mac OSX 1.5 Leopard from Tiger X 1.4.9 I had no problems printing on my Epson Stylus Photo RX500, but, even after having a new driver for Epson, the printing is a "****", I no longer have, as before the ability to chose the quality of print which I desire, I mean the best rendition for subject which I photographed, like Portraits, I no longer can control the printing speed as I used to before (for qualities) and am left with photos with lines, no matter what I do. I wasted 2 sets of ink cartridges, and lots of papers to try to circumvent the problem, to no avail. Sometimes using mat paper works well, glossy no.
Cam I have some help ? Tanks.

I had the same problem. The new driver I downloaded never worked properly. I ended up buying a new printer. I still use my Epson to scan with no problem. I actually need a part for my Epson RX 500 if you'd be willing to part with your scanner lid for a price. [email protected]

  • Iphoto won't print.  Never had a problem before.

iphoto won't print.  I get the spinning wheel.  Repaired disk thinks I have Epson...?  I have HD and a Canon.  Can you help me?

Go to the System/Printers & Scanners preference pane and remove the printerd that str there.  Then add it back and try again. If that fails try what's discussed in this Apple document:   OS X Yosemite: Reset the printing system

  • Trying to add our Epson 4800 after updating 10.8.3. our iMac is shutting down and so is our Mac Book Pro.

Trying to add our Epson 4800 after update 10.8.3 our iMac is shutting down and so is our Mac Book Pro. Any advise??

Thank you Linc. We just half solved our problem. The update 10.8.3 has a bug for using our printer with a special kodak proback firewire cable by don't giving a support. So we skipped the old way by downloading a new driver,
using an USB cable and adding our printer again and it works. The reactions of collegues and those on the Apple site showed us that the update 10.8.3 is having a major problem.
