IPhoto events syncing problem

iPhoto events will not sync to my iPhone over itunes, message reads cannot find file. Anybody that can help me?

Make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - delete  the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select options #1, #2 and #6.
Click to view image full size
Then try again.

Posted this before I realised there is an update for the iPhoto app 9.1.3 which sorts the problem.

I have the 64G iPad non GSM model.

Although not a final solution, I've been able to bypass that problem by first syncing only two or three faces, and then going back to sync the full iPhoto library.
    Hope this may help you!

  • IPhoto / iTunes Sync Problems

Hi all, not sure if anyone else is having this problem.
Since the upgrade to iTunes 10.5 and iOS5 and iPhoto 9.2 and OS X 10.7.2 (phew!), I've had problems with photo synchronisation on my iPad and iPhone.
    So....
iPhoto reports that it has 2,610 photos in the library.
iTunes, when I select "all photos", says that it has 2,588.
My iDevice (whichever one it is) says it has 1,410 photos.
I'm not entirely sure why, but not all the pictures are transferring across, despite there being plenty of space. Synchronisation gives no error messages and completes like everything's ok. It's only when I open up "photos" on the device concerned that I can see there's a problem.
With the upgrade to 9.2, I used the "cmd/option" button thingummy to try a rebuild of the entire iPhoto database. That helped a bit (got another 26 pictures across during sync), but hasn't cured the missing items problem completely.
The missing pictures problem seems fairly indiscriminate - all the albums seems to be missing a few, so it's not as though I can say there's a particular cut-off time that's given rise to the issue.
Anyone got any suggestions? I've also repaired permissions and all sorts in an effort to rectify things.
    Thanks,
    M.

I suggest that you try to reset your sync history. Open iSync, go to preferences, and click Reset Sync History.

  • ICal events sync problem

    Hi,
I am using Leopard 10.5.1 on my Mac Mini and am adding events and alarms in iCal but they dont get uploaded on my iPhone when I sync it in iTunes.
If it makes any difference, all my calenders were originally created created in Tiger.
    Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem. Whenever I create a new event in iCal it will not sync to my iPhone. No solution yet except to use the calendar in Entourage instead; those events will sync without any problem. This started with I upgraded to Leopard.

  • Facebook events syncing problem.

When syncing my facebook events which last for a whole day,
they appear one day earlier in my iOS calender than they are supposed too.
Events with a start and stopping time sync perfectly.
It doesn't matter if i participate in an event or if I create an event myself.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Outlook 2010 all day Event sync Problem

I have just migrated to a Bold 9900 (from a 9800 Torch) and am having problems with Outlook EVENTS. When they are synced via Desktop (7.0.0.43) they roll over and appear as a 2 day event. I am running Outlook client 2010 under Windows 7 and all was working well until I migrated from the Torch. I have checked Time zones on PC and phone and only issue I notice is that Windows 7 is using UTC while handset is GMT, but same is true for Torch 9800? Events are appear correctly as expected on Outlook.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Part of the problem appears to be that the new desktop manger software (v7, no longer intellisync) does not include the "All Day Event" flag as a a field that is synchronized between the blackberry and MS outlook.  You can see that this field is no longer included in the detailed field mappings for the outlook calendar.
You can sucessfully create and sync an all day event initially.  Problems begin when you later try to modify the "all day event".  If you try to convert the all day event into a regular appointment at a specified time, you must  "uncheck" the all day event flag on either platform (outlook or blackberry).  Desktop Manager never recognizes the change in the all day event flag (since the field is not synced), which then creates a corrupt MS Outlook entry (an appointment with BOTH a specific start/end time AND also with the all day event flag checked, is mutually exclusive in MS Outlook 2010.  Maybe somebody could fix this bug in next release....

  • IPhoto/Flickr sync problems

I use the built-in functionalitiy to upload my pictures to Flickr. Two things have been frustrating me:
    1) The photos do not sync in any logical order. Not oldest to newest, not newest to oldest. The result is that my Flickr photostream is COMPLETELY non-chronological, which I find really frustrating. Is there any way to avoid this that doesn't involve uploading photos one at a time?
    2) Every so often, iPhoto just stops uploading photos to Flickr. I'll start a sync and it will SEEM like it has worked, but the photos never show up on the web. The only solution to this I have found is to delete the connection to my Flickr account and then recreate it.
    Any ideas?

Heh, that would have been a helpful detail, wouldn't it?

  • IPHOTO (7) SYNC PROBLEMS

Only some albums will sync. During the normal "sync", message says "file not found". At least 15 other albums work fine.
I've tried removing 1 photo from the bad album at a time to see if one was "bad", still no luck.

Is there anything unusual (special characters, for instance) about the name of the album?
I'd try renaming the troublesome album with a simple name and see if that fixes it.

  • How to solve issue with strange iphoto events shown in itunes for sync IOS devices ? This issue is very old and not been fixed by apple... terrible

all softwares latest version january 2013.
I see in itunes many strange crazy iphoto events that in iphoto do not exist.
These vents are named as data and contains just few photos.
each event can be sync with IOS devices, but that event is not in iphoto !
It looks like miniatures... no way to solve this issue making all possible maintenance in iphoto library.
THis issue is very old, very terrible, people start to have doubts about iphoto as a reliable software.
    Need a fix asap.
    Apple please help!
I were with 2 hours at genius bar but nothing.
Genius told me apple have been informed and they are working on a solution..... this 4 months ago !!!

    THanks

Apple aren't here. As you're the only person with this problem that I've seen on here, I would suspect that its more a local problem on your machine than something Apple need to fix.
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

  • IPhoto 11 / MobilMe Gallery (sync) problems...

    I do have backups...
I did apply the patch before even opening iPhoto...
OK, so I updated one of 3 Macs to iPhoto 11 (including the recent patch, before ever launching iPhoto). Everything went smoothly... Until the Mac with iPhoto 11 began syncing with MobileMe Gallery... Now, my MobileMe Gallery has duplicates of every photo (1000's of them)... The local iPhoto libraries on all 3 Mac's (2 - iPhoto 09 and 1 - iPhoto 11) appear to be fine...
IF I WERE A BETTING MAN... I would expect that when I update the other 2 Macs to iPhoto 11 the problem will be worse with 1000's and 1000's of duplicates of all photos...
OR, EVERYTHING WILL BE OK and everything will sync back up...
Any thoughts (or takers) on this outcome?

I just really want to be able to allow photos to be uploaded to me somehow and have them automagically find their way back into the proper event in iPhoto.
Simply, this is not a feature at this time.
    For feature requests:
IPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback

  • IPhoto Sync Problem

Hi all, I've searched everywhere for an answer to this issue and I couldn't find it, so here it goes
I sync my iPhoto pics with my iPhone and iPad, I have exactly 23 events
The problem is that I have checked "Sync al photos from IPhoto" and I have 18 events with a date as a name, like: "Oct 12, 2012", "Oct 30, 2012" and so on
I don't see this events in iPhoto, they are not hidden or anything
Is this a issue with iPhoto or am I doing something wrong?
    I'm up to date:
    Mountain Lion 10.8.2
    iTunes 11.0.1
    iPhoto 9.4.2
    iOS 6.1 on both devices
    Thanks in advance

    Anyone?
This is really annoying because those events contain photos that aren't in my iPhoto Library
Tried all the options given by the Photo Library First Aid and still the same, the only thing that changed is that now the events are syncing in a different order

  • IPhoto syncing problems iPad

    Hi
I am having trouble syncing my iPad with my iPhoto library. When I try and sync through iTunes only selected photos seem to be synced, i.e. if I choose to sync a specific event not all the photos from the event are synced. For example, a recent event has 44 photos in it and when I sync only about 12 appear on the iPad. If I choose to sync more events the same thing happens. Some events most photos seem to be there and in others some are missing. All the photos are jpgs so my understanding is there should be no problem. Interestingly, if I take the photos and put them in a folder and sync the folder only - not through iPhoto on sync - all the photos come over (obviously not grouped in events). This to me suggests it is something to do with iPhoto indexing. I created the iPhoto databases and thumbnails index but this did not help. I have read that deleting the 'iPod Photo Cache" can help with this, so deleted that - but still no joy. I have read somewhere that the index file in iPhoto has limit (256mb or something) - i have 10,000 photos in my library so maybe this is the problem. I am not trying to sync all the photos just some events so space on the iPad (32GB) cannot be a problem. Please help? Bernie

Just checking to make sure that you did follow this procedure .... I copied this from one of my other posts and I'm merely double checking that you did restart the iPad after you tried this ....
Follow the instructions here to delete the iPod Photo cache and see if that helps.
iTunes: Photo sync creates iPod Photo Cache folder
Restart your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
    Now try syncing.
I have seen posters with more photos than you are trying to sync have success with this procedure so I don't think that the number of photos is the problem. You stated that creating a new folder and syncing the photos works that way so that proves to me that it isn't the number of photos that is causing the issue.
The only other suggestions I can think of are to create new names for the events using the same photos and try syncing that way. The other suggestion would be to delete your backup and try to the sync the photos.
