IPhoto export way too large

Hi. i dont get it. i want to export a slideshow for my fathers birthday. i have a little bit under 1100 pictures.
My settings : 5 seconds, 720p.
i cant export it because i dont have enough disk space because it asks for a little over 70 gbs. it doesnt make much sense to me.

Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

  • Font size in email way too large! How to fix?

Hi, in beginning to use my new TOUR, the font email in just one of my 2 inboxes is way too large.  Why is it just 1 email box and not both?  And how do I change this setting for all/that specific inbox?
    Thanks!

    Hey!
     welcome to blackberry forums!
    So, looking at the issue with your tour, it seems it's a common issue with tour users, I took a look around, and found this;
    http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-9600-series-discussion-tour/196884-giant-email-text.html
read post number 26. They've explained everything that you need to help fix  your font issue. also they have included a few images that they think will help.
    good luck!

  • Exporting File too large

I am unable to export my project from final cut pro to my personal youtube or vimeo because a message appears stating it timed out or it is too large. The project is 20 minutes long.
I am able to save the project on a DVD but then my client is unable to upload the project to her business youtube account or save it to upload on her website. Is there a specific setting or program I need to do this? I looked at Compressor but from the reviews, it doesn't seem like that will help.
    Thanks-Dallal

I thought you could upload 2GB / 15 minutes unless you had some sort of corporate account, or has that changed?

  • IPhoto says print too large on cover

on the cover of my picture book on iPhoto it keeps giving me the red triangle exclamation point even when there is no print in the box. I am trying to print the cover title in Nahum brush script in 24 or smaller even and it won't let me. I deleted all print from the one picture cover in the box and it still says too large with no print. I am ready to order right now and don't know how to fix this. Please help ASAP.
I want the largest print I can get in the box under the one cover picture in journal style with nanum brush script.  Hope this makes sense.
    thank you,
    JP

That is a warning - not a fatal error
BUT if you print and the results are bad there is no guarantee since you went ahead
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
My best guess is that you will have to do a much smaller point size - start at 12 and see if that works - it is it ok increase slowly until you get the warning and then back down one step

  • Itunes screen shows up way too large

My Itunes screen is showing up way too big. When I click on to go to it, my whole screen goes black, then it shows up too big and distorted.
Is there anything I can do to fix this on my own?
    Thank you.

When the large image is on your screen, try clicking on the green dot (top left of window).

  • LR 3.3 Video Opens Up Way Too Large

For my movs when I open them they open up huge, on Quicktime and I can't seem to get them to open up to the size I want which is the size of a book.
I use a Canon 5DII on Win 7 64 bit. I keep having to resize these monsters.
I know its probably not LR but does anyone know how to correct this?

Thanks Pete but no go I tried both screen shots and it is still
way to big. I have a second monitor but I turned that off thinking it might play a
    role but it didn't
Before I posted I tried the half screen but again it way too big for my 24" monitor by about 20% I then have to keep doing a ctrl 0 to shrink but I should be able to set it and forget it

  • The Gallery Images are way too large....PLEASE HELP.

I have upgraded the photography site to a WebMarketing plan in BC and have created my own gallery in a secure zone. The site is www.katphotoz.com and the gallery can be seen in the Galleries portion of the website.
In the client gallery I have uploaded the photographs but when a user clicks on the thumbnail the photograph opens larger than the screen size thus causing a ton of scrolling just to get back to the gallery.
Is there a way I can minimize the size of the photograph when clicking on a thumbnail without losing the quality of the photograph?
Any help you can provide will be huge.
    Thank you,
    Bobby

You can access the client gallery by using the following:

  • Exported video too large, quality poor

Hey guys. I'm starting with a 1440x1080 mts video, trimming it down (total trimmed length is about 7 minutes) and exporting it to a 1440x1080 mp4.
But sadly, I have to increase the bitrate very high in order to get quality that approaches the original, resulting in a much larger file size. I managed to get the size of the exported video (shown in the table below) to a reasonable size, but it was still lower quality than the original.. Can I get some help here? Essentially, I just want to export the video with the original resolution and around the same size but in something like .mp4 format.
PowerDirector11 achieved this with no fuss.

The answers are in the details. But, from what you offered above, whether you have Premiere Elements 10 or 11 Windows, here is what I am suggesting that you try.
Import your 1440 x 1080 HD anamorphic 16:9 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second into Premiere Elements, using the project preset of:
    NTSC AVCHD HD1080i30.
If you are using version 10, you do that in the new project dialog yourself.
If you are using version 11, the program is supposed to do that setting automatically based on your first drag of the clip to the Timeline. Check Edit Menu/Projects Settings to make sure that the program has recognized your video properties correctly and assigned the appropriate project preset. If not, open a new project and go to File Menu/New/Project and set the project preset yourself, making sure to put a check mark next to Force Selected Project Settings on This Project. After OK'ing out of there, then bring in your video via Add Media/Project Assets/drag to Timeline.
When you get around to exporting, give the following a try (in looks like that was the area that you were exploring already)
    If version 10, Share/Computer/AVCHD
    If version 11, Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD
    use the preset = MP4-H264 1920 x 1080p30
That preset uses default bitrates of Target 32 Mbps and Maximum 40 Mbps. Go with that to get a baseline for your video which appears to have an overall bitrate of about 12 or lower Mbps. If necessary, redo, Lowering for file size requirements.
Then let us know what that looks like.
Can you shoot at 1920 x 1080 at a higher bitrate with your camera? And does your camera shoot progressive as well as interlaced video?
    Thanks.

  • Exporting files too large

I'm trying to export keynote for uploading to a blog, but the file is too big.
any suggestions about how to decrease size?
    thanks!

What are you ftp-ing the files for? Are they going to be edited by someone? Are they for preview purposes only? Are they finishing to the web? There is an infinite number of compression schemes that you could use, but you'll need to provide more information as to what the end product is going to be.

  • Exported files too large for email loop

I work with an online writers critique group. Since the most recent update, all files that I exported from Pages to Word to email to the loop  have been rejected as being over 500KB.
While the critiqued documents are in Pages format, I see a Reduce File Size option in the dropdown menu. When I click it, I receive the message that all media files are at their optimum size.
    Does anyone have a solution?

I don't know of any way to reduce file sizes for Pages output other than to export them to PDF and then use Acrobat's file compression option to squeeze out the junk.  There also are other apps out there for compressing PDFs. There are apps for converting PDFs to Word.  However, I do not think the PDF loop will solve the problem.  When the stuff comes back into Pages or Word, the overhead of these apps will be added to the text.
My suggestion is for your group to switch to Acobat PDF for review.  We use Acrobat PDF files for reviewers.  That way we do not have to worry about what word processing app a reviewer has installed, including on iPads and other tablets.  Acrobat has extensive features for annotation and comment.  And, Acrobat has excellent file comparison, which is character accruate.
    I hop this is helpful.

  • Memory issues writing binary files, using a subVI to do all File Handling, topVI, when run normally files are way too large.

Problem writing binary files with LV 8.5. I have one VI that does all the interaction/file I/O and another VI for testing. I find when I run the subVI where all the data reading/writing is happening with break points and single stepping through the code all is OK, but when I run normally the files are much larger than they should be and as well when I close the files I get a error. Any insights?

I don't see how this could cause the symptoms you described in the first post.

  • Attachment way too large, now Mail crashes, can't stop process

My daughter attached a huge .AVI movie to an e-mail to send it to her friend and Mail tried to send it for a long time then crashed. Now, whenever we open Mail, it continues to try to send this thing and crashes each time. I've tried to delete the offending e-mail from the Out mailbox but it always reappears the next time Mail is started. How do I get out of this loop? The job never finishes before it crashes and then it starts all over again the next time Mail is opened. Is there a way to "kill" or stop the process, force it to forget this job, and delete it so we can get back to using the Mail tool?

With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > Mailboxes > Outbox.mbox.
The Outbox.mbox represents "Out" in the mailboxes drawer and is shared by all accounts.
Delete the Outbox.mbox and empty the Trash.
Launch Mail and a new Outbox.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the Mailboxes folder and this should resolve the problem.

  • IPhoto library way too big

    iPhone 4S
    Using iOS 8.02
    Hoping to upgrade to 8.1
The iPhone tells me I have not enough space. Looking at Manage Storage, I'm told my Photo Library is 5.7 GB in size. I have exactly 14 photos in there -- no videos. I did delete a lot of videos just recently and also restarted the iPhone. Is there a temporary trash directory that I have to empty or something?
    Any suggestions? Thanks.

When you're thinking of updating the system, the system is saying how much space you need generally in your phone. Meaning you need 4.6GB or whatever the amount in total of free space throughout your phone. This could include photos, videos, messages, the amount of apps you have and their separate data, web data, and etc. almost anything counts, so just keep deleting until you achieve the acquired amount of free space for the update. Hope this helps!

  • Encoding file size for standard DVD too large - please advise

Hi - I shot an 6-hour training session that went well.  I shot it at 1280 x 720.  For the web version it will be no problem, as I'll just export to F4V.
But i'm having a difficult time figuring out the export settings for the DVD.  I know that the disk is limited to 4.6 GB.  I broke up the sequences in PPro CS4 to about 30 minutes or so (some are smaller or larger than others).
I first exported to QT but found that a 30-minute export way too large (8 GB) and Encore brought it down to 2 GB but that that will still only allow me to put 60-minutes on one DVD vs. the almost 2 hours I want to get on 1 disk.
    AVI is even worst.
I know that widescreen is a larger size so I'm willing to make it standard NTSC but I just cannot figure out which export setting in PPro CS4 to use to make this work.
Can someone advise me on this?
    Thank you.

    >exported a 36-minute video in QT. It's 8 GB in size. I imported it into Encore, which encoded it down to 2.5 GB
I don't use QT at all (Quicktime is not even installed on my computer) instead using DV AVI to go from AVCHD to Encore to create a DVD http://forums.adobe.com/thread/652694?tstart=0
But, as you found, Encore encodes your "raw" input file into a "finished" DVD file which is much smaller due to how MPEG/VOB is structured
I once put 2.5 hours on a single side DVD... but that was a slideshow w/music to be a background at a party, so there was NO motion at all for the encoding process to have to adjust for to produce a good image
A fast moving video (soccer game) is going to require a lot more DVD space to produce an image that is not blurred due to the speed of movement
For a training session with (I presume) low speed movement, simply export your project in 2 hour sections and have Encore do automatic encoding to create the best fit on the disc
Note that automatic encoding is only (as far as I know) for video that you have not already compressed by using the Mpeg-Dvd output setting
Experiment to find out what works the best for you

  • Images too large on desktop

I shoot photos with a fairly high resolution; the images are usually about 3mb each. When I set a photo to be the desktop image, it is way too large for my desktop; much of the photo is off-screen. I have tried cropping, exporting as a smaller file and then importing that, etc., they all have problems, plus take way too long.
Is there an easy way to get the large photo to fit on the desktop properly?

Have you tried cropping the photos to the same size ratio or pixel dimensions as the monitor?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
