IPhoto freezing on print command before print menu appears

Has anyone encountered iPhoto freezing when selecting "print" from the file menu, before the actual print menu appears? I'm not using huge files here -- 600 KB photo, for example -- but I get the spinning beach ball of death every time I try to print a photo.
I have 3000 photos in my library, use Panther, have a five-year-old ibook with a 10 g hard drive so I house my library on an external hard drive.
Sound like a preferences file problem, for example? Any advice anyone can offer would help immensely.

That's a whole different animal. You didn't move or rename any of the files from the Finder did you?
Do try cleaning out the cache files with OnyX. Also I'd run the 10.3.9 COMBO updater followed by a repair of permissions with Disk Utility. Reinstalling the latest combo updater can clear up a multitude of issues. Finally, is those don't work make a backup copy of your iPhoto Library folder and then launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select all of the options except the last one regarding orphans. Do empty your iPhoto library before the rebuild.
If the rebuild doesn't go as intended and is worse than the original library just trash it and go back to the backup copy. Sometimes it's necessary, most times not. Good luck.

That was a test to determine if the original library was damaged and it was. You did follow the next step but there's one more fix you can try on your damaged library:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.
4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
5 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

I cant print and get this message, "adobe elements, "the saved printer information is not compatible with this version of photoshop elements, or the saved printer is no longer available. you will need to check with your printer settings before printing."

If you are working in PSE13, please update it to latest PSE13.1 update available and see if it helps.
To apply update, you can go to Help > Updates and there you can see PSE13.1 update.

Forms 6i prints ugly when using the Forms print command from the menu

When we use the Oracle Forms print built-in to print the screen-shots, the print-out turns out to be ugly with lots of dots all over.
We are using Forms 6i (6.0.8.11.3) running on 9iAS on Windows 2000. The version of JInitiator we are using is 1.1.7.31. The forms open up in a separate frame.
The interesting thing is when we print from a Windows 2000 machine, the screen-prints are OK. But they are messed up when we use a windows 98/95 machine.

Converting colour profile of final print package before printing

How do I convert the colour profile of a Lightroom custom printing package from Adobe Prophoto to sRGB before printing? For that matter, how do I save the thing? I have no interest in saving the template, or the collection separately, since neither has any use without the other. And without saving them as one finished item, I have no way to convert the colour profile of that item. I can see clearly from the appearance of the print preview that the above mentioned colour profile conversion is required.

You cannot change the profile in Lr to <sRGB>.
If you want to print sRGB, select <Managed by Printer> for Color Profile under Color Management.
Then in your printer's dialog select <sRGB> instead of <Application managed> (or similar wording - depending on your printer).
BTW: the term is not "Adobe proPhoto" it's "proPhoto RGB".

Print Preview before Print Dialog

Hi expert.
i have one problem and need an advise.
i create a smartform with parameter to skip pop up window print dialog, and i use code to specific printer and output parameters for immediately print when click print button in this driver program. it's ok untill my user request like this
"after execute driver program, system should show print preview. and after click print button print dialog window will pop up, so they can select desire printer and other option."
please suggest me how to solve this problem. point for useful answer.

In iDVD pro, can you run a video before the menu appears?

You've probably seen it before: you pop in a DVD, a little movie plays then wipes to the background with the buttons neatly arranged. Is there a way to do this in iDVD pro? I can figure out how to make the buttons come in later.

There is no iDVD 'pro' (there is DVD Studio Pro, but for want to do, you don't need it).
iDVD 6 will let you play a movie before the menu comes up - it's very easy.

How do I add a clip that starts before 1st menu appears

I need to find out if there is a way for me to show film clip right after I start the DVD and before the 1st menu is shown.
I only want to show it the 1st time the DVD is placed in a drive.
Is there a way to do that in DVD SP 2

As David said... but I would definitely use a track and set it as first play, then set the end jump of that to go to the main menu. This is how warning screens, etc, are generally done.
If you use a menu you'll need to be sure throughout the rest of the DVD that the Title button on the remote doesn't point to your item... using a track will avoid this need.

Printing source code is a relatively uncommon use case these days, so we're unlikely to add this feature in the near future. However, as a workaround you can use the Copy as HTML extension to copy the fully color-coded HTML source code of a file (or part of a file), and then paste it into an app like Word to print it from there. I have PSE13 on my system, Windows 8.1, 64-bit. It was functioning properly after installation and now I get these messages when I go to print: "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available. You need to check your printer settings before printing." and then this statement: "Default printer could not be opened." I have reloaded drivers for both printers and made any upgrades possible. It was working fine before and now all of a sudden, nothing. Would prefer to have old PSE v.12 back, it worked with no problems.
