Iphoto - Gesichtserkennung für Adressbuch in macbook pro retian

Hallo
hatte bisher Macbook Pro.
IPhoto funktioniert da genau so. Nur gibt es in den Kontakten nicht diesen 'button' und deshalb ist es viel unkomfortabler Bilder von Bekannten in die Kontakte zu bekommen. Weiss jmd wie dies geht?
Hello
had previously Macbook Pro. There I was able to use the Face Recognition iPoto for contacts. In contacts, there was a 'button' - if you clicked on that you could see the face which were recognized in iPhoto before. This was very convenient and easy to chose one from the iPhoto recognition.
Now I have the Macbook Pro Retina. IPhoto works there just like that. But there is not that  'button' on the field which is prepared for the photo of a person.  And therefore it is much more uncomfortable to get pictures from friends in the Contacts. White jmd how to do this?

Upgrading from iPhoto 8 to iPhoto 9 requires a purchase. There are two ways to get to iPhoto 9:
    1 - purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com or eBay.com.
2 - if your MBP meets the requirements upgrade you system for free to Mavericks.  Then you can purchase the latest iPhoto version, 9.5.1, from the App Store.

    Hi,
Anyone have advice to fix this problem; iPhoto will not open on my MacBook Pro. The first time I had this problem was about a week ago, but previous problems.
This is what I have tried to far, all with no results:
Launching iPhoto with the Option key pressed
Launching iPhoto with the Option and Command keys pressed
    Resinstalling Lion OS
Removing iPhoto-related com.apple files in /private/var/db/receipts - thanks for the posts Old Toad!
Removing and reinstalling iPhoto based on Terrence's kind advice here.
Any advice on what might work for me?

  • I am not able to update iPhoto, iMovie and garageband on my macbook pro. these three apps came installed with ilife suite.

I am unable to update iphoto, imovie, and Garageband on my Macbook Pro.  I understand that these apps are part of ilife suite.  Purchased Macbook at Best Buy January 2012.  All software is updated.  I recieve message asking me to sign into account that I purchased these apps from.  I am signed in , however I did not purchase these apps they came on Macbook.  I also tried deleting Garageband and re-installing it. Now Garageband says accept but Macbook will not accept.  Anyone else have this problem and were you able to resolve it.

The fact that they were preinstalled is why they are supposed to appear in the Purchased pane, in a temporary area labeled Purchases, for you to accept. Not doing so soon after you got the Mac has messed this process up.
    To get things back on track properly try these steps;
    Updating Pre-installed iLife apps -
1 - Log out and quit iTunes and the Mac App Store (MAS)
2 - Go to System Prefs/Users & Groups/~user/Password and enter the Apple ID connected to your iTunes/Mac App Store account. Close Sys Prefs
    3 - Delete /Mac HD/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/adoption.plist
    4 - Reboot your Mac
5 - Open Mac App Store
6 - Go to the Purchased pane and Accept the three iLife apps. Enter iTunes/MAS username/password if prompted.

  • Iphoto isn't working on my macbook pro

Iphoto isn't working on my macbook pro, it is coming up with the following message:-
Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable.
Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iphoto again.  If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library.  To do this, quit ipoto, and then reopen it while keeping the optino and command keys pressed.  You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
Please help.  I don't want to delete this app and then have to pay for it again.

Restore from your back up is a good place to start.
    Failing that:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Transferring photos in iphoto from a G4 to a MacBook Pro

I transferred thousands of photos in iphoto on my old G4 to a new July 2011 Macbook Pro. They all transferred but when I try to enlarge them I get an X, I can only view the photos in the smaller size. Is this fixable, any ideas?

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

  • IPhoto not responding on my newer macbook pro after I did the migration

I got a new to me macbook pro,did a migration from my old G4 laptop.
Why do I get iPhoto not responding when I try to import new photos?

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.

  • Sharing iphoto on 2 computers: imac and macbook pro

So I got a new iMac and was able to load all photos from iphoto on my laptop and now I would like to know if the desktop and the macbook pro iphotos can "sync"--that is if I load photos on my laptop iphoto then the photos will also appear on the imac. Not sure if this is the right forum for this question but the basic activity is iphoto. thanks! kate

What do you mean by "Sync".
The general term means when two Libraries (A and B) are compared and files in Library A are copied to Library B, while files in Library B are also copied to Library A so that both Libraries are identical.
This is bi-directional copying and you cannot do this with automatically with iPhoto. No Syncing software is capable of parsing the iPhoto Library in this manner. One or both of your Libraries will be damaged if you try this.
You can have uni-directional copying - files in Library A are copied to Library B - this is essentially backing up. Obviously you can also copy from Library B to Library A.
The nearest you can get to syncing is to use iPhoto Library Manager to move files/ALbums/Events plus assoicated metadata between Libraries. This process cannot be automated.

  • IPhoto unexpectedly quitting on BRAND NEW MacBook Pro

I just bought this computer a couple of weeks ago. I used to have a MacBook, and all of a sudden (after 4 years of loyal service) it began having issues. So I bought a new computer a couple of weeks ago. It is the MacBook Pro 13" basic model. It has absolutely no upgrades, thusfar. All I have done is add my wedding photos to iphoto. There are around 2000, all ultrahigh quality. Yesterday iPhoto unexpectedly quit. This has happened a couple of times now, and I am also experiencing lag. I turn the computer off regularly, I don't download anything from anywhere but itunes etc. Why is this happening? Is it simply the amount of photos on my computer? When it quit unexpectedly I was editing my photos(playing with contrast, sepia, etc.). I am getting really frustrated, because these are the same issues that eventually drove me to buy a new apple. With such a big investment (for a college student) I am really upset about this issue. Please help me!?

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and try to create and use a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If the new library crashes try the following:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If the test library works as expected then the problem lies with your current library.  In that case
make a temporary, backup copy if you don't have a backup (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Help: iphoto is no longer working after MacBook Pro was upgraded to OS X Yosemite

Upgraded my MacBook Pro to OS X Yosemite last week. Everything works fine except iPhoto. It keeps asking for upgrade but keeps showing the upgrade is not available for my apple id.

If this started happening without your having made any changes and without a warning of low disk space, then it's likely that the startup drive, or some other hardware component, is failing. Back up all data immediately, then make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.

  • Third party old site too? Help!!

I am about to publish my new iweb website to a third party server (i.e. other than .mac) Still, I wanna keep the old site for people to look at using a link to the old site. Is that possible? Does anyone know how to pull this off?
