Iphoto has deleted itself.

Iphoto has deleted and there is no application. Any ideas if i can get it back or have i lost it and all my photos. had a couple of replies but niether worked. Any help would be much appricated thanks. My mac is about 2 years old.

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

    Hey bryce255,
Thanks for the question, that definitely sounds frustrating. Luckily, we have steps available that may be able to restore your previous library:
No content shows up in iTunes after updating
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1967
    Resolution
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Download and install the latest version of iTunes.
    3. Use the Finder (Mac) or Windows Explorer (Windows) to go to the iTunes folder that contains the iTunes library files:
    Mac OS X
    /Users/username/Music/iTunes/
Microsoft Windows Windows XP and Windows 2000
    \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
Microsoft Windows Windows Vista and Windows 7
    \Users\username\Music\iTunes\
    4. Drag the iTunes Library file from the above location to the Desktop.
    5. Open the Previous iTunes Libraries folder in the iTunes folder.
    6. Locate the file named iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD where YYYY-MM-DD is the date you upgraded iTunes (Year-Month-Day).
    7. Drag this file to the iTunes folder (the enclosing folder).
    8. Rename this file to iTunes Library.
    9. Open iTunes.
You should now see your missing content in iTunes.
If the above does not resolve your issue, you can learn about re-creating your iTunes library:

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you see when iPhoto tries to launch?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

That can work as one method of backup but you should be using TimeMachine and/or something to keep your system and data backed up on one or more drives.

can be used to extract and install, but you need to find your iLife disc or OEM disc with Applications.

Hello Emmafurness and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Have you done a device reboot yet by removing and reinserting the battery? If not, do so and then check for the folder.
Do you have more than one theme installed on your BlackBerry? If so, change the theme to another one and check for the folder.
If you tried both of these and are still unable to locate the folder, then you will need to reinstall your device software.
Backup your device data and follow the steps in KB11320; before you restore your data file, look for the folder.
Let me know how you make out!

  • IPhoto has deleted all my photos

Help me please, all my photos got binned from iPhoto after the power ran out on my Macbook, I didnt intentionally let the power run out, i had scheduled it to shut down but it didnt for whatever reason. Once i got power to it and switched it on i didnt realise immediately but on connecting my iPod to transfere a pic their was nothing, ive been to forums and looked up for help but nothing has worked. Please help.

    l. I only have or had one (1) album of photos.
Do you mean by "album of photos" your iPhoto library or that you now are seeing only one album in your library?
Have you checked the obvious places for missing photos - looked into iPhoto's Trash, checked if Hidden Photos" are disabled in the "View" menu?
If your library is not showing all albums that should be there, try if repairing or rebuilding your iPhoto library will turn the photos up again, see Old Toad's post on how to do this:
         Rebuild iPhoto Version 11
If all this does not help,  then tell us please, what happened before your photos vanished.
    Did iPhoto crash?
Did you update software or install new software, that you used for the first time?
Did you move your iPhoto library somewhere else? To a new drive or cloud storage?
    Did you import new photos?
Did you delete any photos that were apparently not in iPhoto? For example with a cleaing and space-saving application. like Clean My Mac?

  • Iphoto pictures deleted itself

I updated my computer as I do every so often and when it restarted all of my pictures on Iphoto were gone. How do I get them back? They are very important.

Sorry to ask but since we onlhy have words to comunicate with here using them correctly is critical
iPhoto is an application and lives in your Applications folder
Your photos are in a database which by default is names iPhoto library and is in your pictures folder
I still have Iphoto on my computer.
Is this the application of the intact non-functioning liPhoto library?
I have copied all the pictures on a USB so I wont loose any data.
exactly how did you do this?
Then I deleted all the pictures.
and exactly how did you do this?
    Have you done this?
If so what were the results?
Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your thumbnails (you may need to do several times)

  • IPhoto has deleted all my imported photos from my phone. How do i get them back?

When I imported the original photos, I deleted them from my phone.

But the OP already specifically said that he "imported the original photos" to (presumably, from the title) iPhoto, which then deleted them from the iPhone. Therefore, they should be in iPhoto, and one of the options when you're importing is to delete the pics from the phone. If they aren't in iPhoto, something's really screwed up. We're assuming it hasn't yet.

  • Photo editing app has deleted itself?!

    Hi,
I have been using my Xperia Z2 for months now with a couple of options of how to edit apps. Every time I took a picture, then pressed the small preview pic, it prompts you to choose an app to open it in. Up until last weekend I could open my pictures in a free, pre-installed app (I believe just called photo editor) which allowed me to add things like a HDR Scape to the photo and adjust brightness, saturation etc by scrolling up or down on the screen. That has been completely removed and the editing apps I have now aren't anything near as good as what I was using. I was really hoping someone may advise if it's been deleted entirely, changed in an update - or whether I can get it back somehow? Any help would be much appreciated as I don't see the point in taking good pictures then not having a good app to enhance them.
Also - out of curiosity, has anyone had any experience of being effectively banned from sony support? I sent a number of complaints to Sony and now find that when opening the live chat service a blank screen with a line of question marks (???, ?????) appears - every time. Too much of a coincidence I think, that I have also had great difficulty logging into this forum with the same account (it kept telling me to log in even though I had, then when I went to post this I was getting a fail page saying it had a redirect loop (or that the site was under maintenance).

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Sounds a bit like you may have chosen the option to always use a certain app to perform the action. You can reset all app preferences from Settings -> Apps -> [menu] -> Reset app preferences. If you know what app that is currently selected you can also go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> [the app] -> Clear defaults.
By default you have 3 apps to edited pictures, "Photo editor", "Photos" (this is Google+) and Sketch. Photos (Google+) has an option called HDR Scape.
Sorry to hear that you're having issues contacting your local support. I recommend that you first try using another browser or computer. If that doesn't help i recommend that you try calling them to have this looked into.

  • Microsoft Word file has deleted itself, help

Help, I have just saved my Document on word and it is just saying what it is saying on the photo, the file has completely gone. Please help!

    Hi Nitin,
regarding your question I think open the original INPLACE would make more sense. Therefore please change the parameter in transaction DC30 for your workstation application to '%SAP-OFFICE-INTEGRATION.INPLACE%'. Then some MS Word functions won't be available.
However if the user is allowed to display the original there is no permission check in the standard which disables that he can save this original to his PC or print it and so on. Therefore you need to create your own authorization check by useing BADI DOCUMENT_AUTH01 or DOCUMENT_FILES01.
    Please give points if useful.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • IPhoto has somehow uninstalled itself, or I've done something wrong. If  try to open iPhoto, it gives me this message: "You can't open the application "iPhoto" because it may be damaged or incomplete. I have an iMac OS X. How do I reinstall iPhoto please

iPhoto has somehow uninstalled itself, or I've done something wrong. If I try to open iPhoto, it gives me this message: "You can't open the application "iPhoto" because it may be damaged or incomplete". I have an iMac OS X. How do I reinstall iPhoto please?

What is your iPhoto version and how did you install it originally?
If it came with a new mac and Lion or Mt. Lion installed, you can delete iPhoto from the Applications folder (don't empty the Trash) and download it again from the "Purchased" tab of the App Store.
If you have bought the iLife CD, reinstall iPhoto from the installation media, after deleting it from the Application folder.
Or if your Mac came with an older MacOS X, but iLIfe preinstalled, use the system Install CDs,  see Terence Devlin's post here:  Re: My iPhoto isn't working. Error message says "you can't open the app "iPhoto" because it may be damaged or incomplete.
    Regards
    Léonie
P.S: This may not only be a problem of a broken iPhoto. What did you do, directly before this happened? Did you run a program, that will clean the Mac to save space, like "Clean My Mac" or "Mac Keeper"? These little helpers can be risky and overdo it and remove too much. Then it might be safer to reinstall your system, because other essential files might be missing now.

  • My trash in iPhoto has no thumbnails in it, however, it says it has over 31k photos.  I had over 67K, but "put back" what thumbnails I could see in order to move them over in smaller groups to delete.  How can I delete what isn't there?

My trash in iPhoto has no thumbnails in it, however, it says I have over 31K photos in it.  I have already "put back" over 35K photos to Events.  How can I delete from iPhoto photos that are not in a thumbnail?  Also, I have been deleting these for over a year assuming that they were being deleted when I put them in the trash.  I didn't realize that there was an iPhoto trash along with my computer trash.  I can't put the other Events into the trash until I erase what's in there. Thank you for any help  you can give me.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

My iPad has deleted 700 photos off the photo stream on that device.  The pictures are still on my Mac iPhoto in the photo stream.  How do I get them to reappear on the iPad?

When did this deletion happen?  Which version of iOS 8 do you have on your iPad? Depending on your settings you may not see My Photo Stream on the iPad any longer.  With iOS 8 "My Photo Stream" will only show on the iPad, if you did not enable iCloud Photo Library (Beta).

  • Even via time machine the new osx lion has deleted all my latest files in iPhoto and will only revert back to an old 2009 backup?

even via time machine the new osx lion has deleted all my latest files in iPhoto and will only revert back to an old 2009 backup?... Help?!

Have you verified that the original files are missing from the Originals/Masters folder?  There are time when the library might appear empty due to a damaged database file but still has the files.  If you can open the library package via the Finder to see if the files are really missing or just can't be seen by iPhoto there are fixes you can try.
If the files are there make a temporary, backup copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
