I accidentally erased iPhoto I guess when I synced my iphone to my iMac??? Out of the blue, I no longer have an iPhoto app on my dock, in my Apps, or in Purchases. iPhoto was installed prior to purchase and there is no disc that I can find to download from. The only thing I see is the ability to PURCHASE new iPhoto app. Can youHELP me restore iPhoto?

Do a Spotlight look for iPhoto, if you cannot locate it then look in the Trash and if its still gone use Time Machine to restore it.

And then to further add insult to injury, I'm prompted to enter in the license number of my product. I've gone through this process a dozen times now...SCREAM!!!

Finally if you are in a managed environment then please work with your I.T. department to apply the update.

In this complicated case, I think it's important that you get your work in.
The Photography Plan includes Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC. Open an account with them and for $10 a month you can be back in business which I think nets you more than $10. It's what I do. You can do this immediately. You get two seats and they can be either Mac or PC.
In your spare time you can sort out the license issue and cancel the plan later on if this is fixed.
If you don't want to go there, then you will have to call Customer Service by phone and hope they can fix this.

I was trying to update an app but now I can't close it down. I have tried most things - it keeps saying I must close down the app but it doesn't allow me to do this. I have powered off the computer but it just comes back. Any suggestions?

I had been trying to update an app on my IMac and when it came to do it, it said I must close down the app site, in this case WeatherEye. However, I could not close it down and update says it is waiting. I have tried everything I know to get rid of this but it remains even when powering off the machine. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone,
its pretty much as easy as the question in the title bar, my fiancee has deleted iphoto by accident.
I didnt get any disk with the computer when i got it (its a macbook - the white model, ive had it nearly 2 years) and i know this for sure because the box and all enclosed papers are in my home office, ive checked through and looked online and found something about a download code that some people get if the software is already on the computer... i dont know how true it is, but then again I dont seem to have a code either.
If anyone has a clue please let me know - in all honesty I really like this app and I hate the idea that I may not get it again just because of something silly like an accidental deletion when i've essentially paid for the product in the cost of the macbook.
Sorry to get long winded on you all but there it is - hope someone can help me - and if ive posted anything to the wrong place im sorry! be gentle folks, its my first time on the community boards!

What system did the Mac come with and what system are you running now? If it's 2 years old, i.e. bought in 2010 then it came with Leaport or Snow Leopard installed and would have had install disks. Included in those disk would be a disk similar to one of these:
That would have included iPhoto 8 (09) if bought before October 20, 2010 or iPhoto 9 (11) if bought after that date. In either case you should have a disk like in the screenshot. If not then you'll have to purchase an iLIfe 11 boxed disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: iLife 11 and install your missing applications from it and then apply the latest updaters from the Apple Downloads web page/

My thumbnails are not showing up next to the icons in finder. Also the back arrow and forward arrow as well as the list options don't show up. Any suggestions how to get them back?

In my Finder window, the picture icons that usually show up next to the items are not there. i.e. in my sidebar, the little pictures that are usually by the Application, Desktop, Documents, etc items. Also, the back and forward arrows, list items and tasks don't show as well. Any ideas on how to get them back?

The window doesn't automatically pop up now. When you plug the card reader in, you should see a 4th option on the lower bar of the photos app. I think it says camera. Tap on that then you can see and inport your photos.
If you are still having issues, try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again. It won't hurt any data but can clear gliches.

I have had the same problem. It was cured by turning computer off and/or restarting it. I am not sure if once was enough. I think shutting down must cut out whatever it is that blocks bluetooth. Good luck

I would ask iTunes Store support for help with this. You may never be able to get the movie to download on your own now.
Go here and then tap on Connecting and downloading, then tap on Movie Rentals. You can have someone contact you, you can chat online or you can get email support. I would opt for the phone call or online chat.

It's likely that the new drive isn't working, or it wasn't installed correctly, or you had some other hardware fault rather than a bad drive.
