IPhoto imported half my RAW files from my D7000

IPhoto imported half my RAW files from my D7000 and cant read the rest, what happened?? It says file format can not be read

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Import Raw files from Nikon D7000 into Lightroom 3

If I understand correctly I must upgrade to Lightroom 4.3 or get a converter in order to import my Raw files from Nikon D7000 into Lightroom?
Not sure if I understand it correct?  Which is the best way?

I use LR 3.6 with the latest updates for camera raw for this version, I believe it's 6.7, and my D7000 and its NEF's were correct handled.
Did nothing else as install the program, update every time there was an update and in September when I bought the D7000 LR worked fine with his NEF's. Before I had a D40x which was als correctly handled.

  • Lightroom 5 won't import RAW files from Nikon D7000

Since the last two updates of Lightroom 5 I cannot import any RAW files from a Nikon D7000. I have imported thousands of photos previously in RAW from the same camera, and even iPhoto has no issues importing them. I just get an error every time, even though it shows a preview of the photos on the card.

What error are you seeing when you try to import?

  • Iphoto won't open raw files from leica dlux-6 camera.

I just purchased a leica d-lux 6 camera and use a macbook. seems that iphoto which I've been using for years  can not open raw files from this camera. Will it ever?  I downlaoded the free lightroom Leica gave and it can open raw but it seems to require more of a learning curve than iphoto. If I continue to use both lightroom and iphoto on same mac computer cause problems?  Any suggestions?  I guess i could shoot in jpeg and raw and use only iphoto for jpegs and use LR for the occasional raw shots?

Correct, the D-Lux 6 is not currently supported for Raw in iPhoto or Aperture. Apple may add support in a future update. Let them know you want it:
iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback
LR is a very powerful, professional grade application and yes, requires a lot more learning than iPhoto. If that doesn't interest you, then respectfully, I would suggest that you just shoot Jpeg.

  • Reading Raw files from the D7000

I recently purchased a Nikon D7000 & shot some pics in the Raw format.  However, when I went to download them into my Photoshop Elements 8 to edit them, I learned, to my dismay that Elements 8 won't read the D7000's Raw file formats!  The program read the RAW files from the Nikon D90 just fine, but won't recognize them from my D7000.  I am VERY upset about this & am hoping for a rememedy ASAP.
    PLEASE HELP!!!

All camera makers like to make slight changes to the RAW format for their new models. Adobe then take a few months to produce a camera RAW plug-in to process the new format.
In the case of the D7000, the first version of the camera RAW was ACR 6.3 - unfortunately this was not available for PSE8, only PSE 9 and later.
I think your only options are-
    1) upgrade PSE - a word of caution, there may be a new version out later this year (Aug/Sep by normal timescale's)
    2) download the free DNG converter and convert the NEFs to DNGs and then process them as normal (will open in ACR)
By the way, don't shoot the messenger, I'm a user like yourself just trying to helpful. Adobe staff do look here sometimes but it's mainly users.

  • Iphoto can't read RAW files from Olympus E-PL1

I just got an Olympus E-PL1. Iphoto doesn't recognize the RAW file with the extenstion .ORF
The E-PL1 has the same sensor as the P1 and P2. I would assume that both those generate the same RAW data.

Until the camera is supported try converting the files to .dmg file with the Adobe DNG Converter 6.1 which iPhoto supports. Many pros use the dmg format.

Won't IMPORT any files!!! Have deinstalled and re-installed LR CC, downloaded the latest DNG converter, used that to convert my Canon 1D X files to DNG, tried to import those DNG files, error. Error reads as follows:

  • NEF RAW Files from Nikon D7000

I have just bought a nice shiny new Nikon D7000 and set it up to use Nikon NEF RAW files.
I've been processing RAW files on Elements for about 7 years now but when I downloaded from my new camera I was informed that the filese were corrupt or not acceptable to PSE 8. My D200 had no such problems.
How do I get over this?
    Andy

Open the editor and click help à Updates
You should be able to update to Adobe Camera Raw 6.2 with PSE8 which will cover the D7000
In case of difficulty Andy, go directly to the ACR site for manual update.

  • Can't download raw files from my d7000

I have Lightroom 3 and have been using it with a Nikon D3000, I just got a new Nikon D7000 and Lightroom will not let me download my raw files.  the note that I get says "The files are from a camera which is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom" and then lists the files that I tried to download.  Any suggestions?

The D7000 was first supported in LR 3.3, so if you are using the latest update which is V 3.6 you should have support.

  • My iPhoto won't recognise raw files from my new camera

... (it still recognises them from the old camera). The specs are different and I've upgraded iPhoto to the latest list of supported cameras. Any ideas?  Thanks, Lee

The Raw on that camera simply isn't on the supported list:
iPhoto Menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback and let them know you want it supported.
I would expect the DNG to be accessible though, but I'm not terribly familiar with the format. I would google around a bit. IIRC there are variations within the DNG format - linear/non-linear or something like that - one of which will work with iPhoto and Aperture.

  • Not recognized raw files from Nikon D7000

    Hi,
I have just bought a Nikon D7000 in stead of my D60. Now my Photoshop Element 9 cannot recognize the files/pictures, which I do not understand. Can anyone help me?

    Hi,
That's strange, I have just managed to download it on a windows system.
As I said earlier, I don't have a MAC system so I'm not sure what to check there.
You could try this - it's the 6.3 update

Hopefully a MAC expert might jump in.

  • Adobe Camera Raw in CS3 is having problems with the RAW files from my Canon 5D Mark II

Adobe Bridge will import the CS2 raw files from the camera card in m Canon 5D Mark II but it will not create thumbnails nor will it convert them to DNG. I want to update the raw reading software but the update page indicates that it only updates into CS4. Will I have to upgrade to CS4 before I can import from my new camera?
    ML

The dng converter does indeed work but it adds an extra step to the workflow. Raw files from my Canon 40D are exported and converted to dng in Bridge in one step. Now I must add the extra step of using dng converter. Can I upgrade Adobe Bridge's raw capacity so that I can import from my new camera in the same efficient way? I would prefer to do this without buying CS4.
    thank you -- ML

  • Cant import raw files from sony rx1003 into iPhoto

Cant import raw files from sony rx1003 into iPhoto.  with rx1002 no problem! any suggestions?

Every model of a manufacture's camera have a different  RAW format and, therefore, you'll have to wait until Apple receives the necessary information from Sony so they can create a RAW Compatibility Updater that includes that model.
In the meantime you can try the Adobe RAW converter with might support that camera model to create a dmg file that iPhoto will recognize and begging shooting the highest resolution jpegs until the updater is released.

  • Can't import RAW files from Canon Powershot S50.

iPhoto6 will not import RAW files from my Canon Powershot S50. It says the files are "unreadable". Image capture will import to the desktop, but neither iPhoto nor Photoshop Elements can open the file. I checked and the S50 is supposed to be compatible with OSX and RAW files.

I agree but I was responding to someone with an S50. That's hardly an "advanced amateur" camera. iPhoto has some rather neat catalog features but the editing is purely for the snapshooter. Heck, I suspect that redeye removal is the most popular feature and, as far as I'm concerned, if you have redeye to begin with, you're a snapshooter.
I'm an extremely advanced amateur with my film setup but, because of cost, I'm still a snapshooter with my digital camera. My film setup is two Nikon N80s with a top-of-the-line Nikon flash head that I use only with a Stroboframe bracket. The bracket and the necessary extension cord cost me nearly $200! My lenses are pure Nikon, including a single focal length f/1.8, 85 mm. portrait lens.
I consider 10 MP to be the bare minimum for "advanced amateur" shooting and both Canon and Nikon have recently introduced 10MP SLRs in the $1000 range. However, I'm waiting for the next advance - an SLR without the reflex mechanism - interchangeable lenses and an FP shutter but no mirror! Let's face it, the reflex mechanism adds cost but a digital screen gives the same view and even better (you can see the color balance) and screens are now available that can be viewed in bright sunlight.
I'm also hoping for one thing that will probably never happen - physically larger CCDs so that I can get the same focus control (small depth of field) that I can get with my film camera.

  • Can't separate raw files from jpegs in my ipad iphoto...

i recently purchased iphoto for my ipad but i cannot separate raw files from jpegs. i can see them all in my imac and save all files properly, but then i would like to erase raw files and keep only jpegs in my ipad but cannot find how to do it! any help? thank you!

yes I am importing pairs raw+jpeg using the camera connection kit. for what I understood reading the entire discussion you suggested, the solution is, after saving the files elsewhere, to delete the photos, but ipad would erase only raw files, leaving the jpeg. but I tried with one photo, and after deleting it, the photo was gone entirely!..
also, I still cannot see both pictures (raw and jpeg) in my ipad iphoto. i can see them in my imac iphoto, but it seems the program runs differently according to the device.. that would make things so much easier for everybody!
a button 'select all' would also be appreciated I am sure!
