IPhoto importing pictures and turning royal blue. Why?

I copied jpg files from a cd to my husband's pc and then wrote these
pics to a flash drive. I then copied the folder from the flash drive
and pasted folder to my imac's desktop. Preview shows the files
as black line drawings on a white background. After importing
these files to iPhoto, the background changes from white to royal
blue. Why is this happening?

Well, "Old Toad", you are my hero of the day. I went to your cellar and downloaded "convert to jpg and embed srgb profile.zip", dragged it to my desktop, dropped a desktop pic into it, imported the pic to
Iphoto, and "wala" a black line drawing with a WHITE background. TADA. So, since I have a copy of the whole file, "Redwork for Iphoto" on my desktop, which has 100 jpgs in it, should I use your cellar's
"embed srgb profile2.zip" or embed srgb profile--Apple script.zip" which is lossless for the whole file?
The file has 100 jpg's that are designs from "Redwork from the WorkBasket", that are pics of the Redwork designs for my embroidery machines. The designs are designed to be embroidered with red thread and the pics in the book are red line drawings on a white background. I have several thousand designs, now, organized into albums (with category dividers) in Iphoto, which I sync to my iphone, so I can see what I have and can use on my embroidery machines. This is the first batch of designs from either the web or from purchased cd's where I have encountered the rgb issue. The royal blue background makes the photos hard to see on my iphone, and you have a way for me to
"redo" my import process, which will be easy. THANKS..
PS I think you helped me with Iphoto, once, when my iphoto lib crashed, after I bought my first Apple product 3+ years ago--an imac. I too, live in Temecula. Do you happen to know if there is an
Apple user group in the area?
PSS If I owned Bernina's Designer Plus software (which I don't, yet), I would offer to thank you by embroidering your Old Toad pic onto a sweatshirt. If you have any free time, you might stop by
Temecula Valley Sewing Center and ask either Aileen or Brian if one of their customers could do that for you.
THANKS AGAIN.

I was working with iPhoto downloading pictures
Do you mean importing photos? If so what were you importing from? If it is a flash drive why not just re-import from it? Where did you scan them?
As to backups - you really need to always have your backup running - without good backups you will lose all photos sooner or later

  • IPhone5 no longer importing pictures and videos correctly

I have been able to import pictures and videos from my iPhone 5 to my Windows 7 Pro computer for the last 2 years.  However, a few months ago, I couldn't get the iPhone to appear on the computer, so I went into Device Manager and Uninstalled the driver, then plugged the phone in again to let it reinstall the driver.  That worked, but now when I try to download again, everything on my computer (browsing on windows, windows import manager, Sony Play Memories) says that there are no files to import.  I can take pictures and videos and when I try again, I get the same message, so it's certainly not true.  If I browse to the files using explorer, I go to Computer >> Apple iPhone  and Internal Storage shows 383 MB free of 14.7 GB.  When I browse further down to Internal Storage >> DCIM, the folder is blank.  I tried the same trick of deleting and reinstalling the drivers with the same results.  I don't know what else to try.

I solved my own problem.  Apparently, you now have to log into (unlock) the phone for it to work.  That was not the case on some earlier version of IOS.

  • How do I import pictures and videos from my iphone4 to my computer and/or itunes?

how do i import pictures and videos to itunes and/or computer?

If for photos/videos in the Camera Roll, iTunes has nothing whatsoever to do with importing photos/videos from the Camera Roll.
I don't believe it is an unreasonable in the least to assume that someone with an iPhone has used a digital camera before and has imported photos from a digital camera at least once with their computer.
And a little advice - people that answer questions here do so voluntarily. It is not a good idea to tell someone who volunteers their time that they didn't answer the question. You may not understand the answer and if not, say so along with I've never imported photos from a digital camera before and/or describe the problem you are having so maybe someone can help you. It is a good idea when asking for help not to assume that someone can read your mind and knows what "I too have problems with this" means exactly.
    You're welcome.

  • Iphoto import creating and importing duplicates/ios8

I'm using iphoto 9.4.3 and my iphone 5s with ios8.  Since septemberish (ios8 update), it's been double-importing all my pix on from my iphone - none are showing up as duplicates on the phone but import/iPhoto view shows and imports them all twice.  All images come in as img_1234 and img_1234_2 for example.
Can't figure out why this is but it's a pain - I'm using third party software to scrub duplicates from the library after the fact but is anyone else having this problem?

I've got this same problem. Didn't see this thread before I posted mine (Re: iPhoto imports 2 of every photo - iPhone 6).
    I've tried:
    Hard restart iPhone
    Updated iPhoto (9.6)
    Updated OSX (10.10)
    Updated iOS (8.1.1)
Nothing has worked; I get two of every photo and video imported into iPhoto.
Has anyone else solved this issue? It's not a huge problem; more like an annoyance.

  • My Mac Book Pro display has turned purple/blue, - why?

My screen started to flickr and has now turned purply/blue as if something has died..any one know why?

Your first choice is to go to System Preferences>Displays>Color.  Make sure that your profile set is the appropriate one for the MacBook Pro, which should be "Color LCD".
I'm going to skip all of the normal suggestions of resetting this and that, because from what I've researched this in the past, and it appears you have an issue with either the graphics chip (low probability) or a worn cable causing one of the color channels to be bad or your LED screen has a problem.
In other words, it's probably hardware related.

  • Attempted to import pictures and ipad is locked up. How do I undo?

I attempted to import some photos from my camera to the ipad using camera adapter. One picture had the download circle for over an hour. So I attempted to leave picture site and have a blue screen with the same download circle still rolling.Help.

I assume that you disconnected the camera and the CCK from the iPad so the standard fix is to reset the iPad if it is frozen and unresponsive. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • HT201302 Trying to download my videos from camera roll onto pc but auto play only says import pictures not import pictures and videos

Hi trying to download videos from my camera roll to my pc.pictures have all downloaded but not the videos

Can you see the Canon EOS camera and image files using Windows Explorer? If not disconnect the camera, close all applications' shutdown Windows, and TURN OFF the power to your system and ALL connected devices. Disconnect all phones, iPads, and any other USB devices and restart your system.
Retry Windows Explorer and see if your camera is showing. If so try LR import again.

  • How does iPhoto import pictures from iPhone photo stream?

Sorry for so basic a question, but I thought I understood how this was working (in iOS 7 and this version of iPhoto 9.6)  But now, in Yosemite, and iOS 8, I am not sure what is occurring.
My intent is to take pictures on the phone, and when I cable-sync with my iMac, I want to d/l and keep all of the new photos permanently in iPhoto.  I have then gone to Image Capture, brought down a 2nd backup copy, and deleted them off the phone.  This would leave me with an empty Camera Roll, but with 1,000 recent photos available on my phone, via the Photo Stream.
I've used iPhoto for years, and have a large number of pictures there.  Recently, with the advent of the Photo Stream, I'm automatically getting Events added (and added to) like November Photo Stream in iPhoto, which has worked fine.
However, the last few times in iPhoto, I'm getting random photos showing up as unsynced... ones which should have been brought in previously.  And today when I went to clear the photos off the phone in Image Capture it told me I had 2,400 pictures.
If someone could give me (or point me to) a primer on how this is now supposed to behave, I'd appreciate it.  I'm afraid that Apple is structuring all of this toward iCloud-photo storage when they release Photos, and that will not work for me.  I need to keep my pictures locally, although the Stream has been handy.  I need to be sure I'm doing this in a reasonable way... the method I'm using doesn't seem to be working very well.  Thanks again, for all advice.

If you go to the Photo App, then select photo stream, you can delete any of them by selecting the edit button and tapping on them. A delete button or trash can should appear. Excuse me for being a little vague...ive been on iOS 7 for a while now...

  • Importing pictures and keeping the folder date

I have a number of pictures that were down loaded in Canon, that I want to add to Iphoto. I would like to keep them in there dates. I tried Iphoto library manager but it will not reconize them.
    Any Ideas.

The pictures that would not open did so when I reloaded the file again
This is not clear - exactly what did you do?
Could I have added to many pictures at one time?
Probably not - how many did you add?
    Is rebuilding a common thing?
No  as stated twice before - it is the result of errors occuring
Thumbnails are seperate from the photos and the ! indicates that the connection has been broken - this can be due to errors or crashes - or can be due to user actions inside the iPhoto libarary - if it is solvable you do it by Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library
I have 7,900 photos 760 events is this a lot.
No - have over 50,000 photos
I would like to do albums of photos by years.
No problem - go ahead - smart albums are good for that

  • Import pictures and videos

    Hi.
I noticed that since I deactivated the "Video" app in my Xperia Z1 Compact (running stock Android 5.0.2), the Movie Creator app doesn't include videos in the created videos, and if I try to edit a created one  and replace a photo with a video I get a failure message. That's apparently because those two apps are connected and the Movie Creator uses the Video app to import videos. That didn't happen in the past.
Could you please make the Movie Creator import videos in some other way, so it's not depended on the Video app? It should have its own mechanism of importing photos and videos, like most other apps do.

Both are Sony's apps which makes sense that Sony wants you to use their apps, but you should contact Sony directly with your suggestion
