IPhoto/iPhone Duplicates Fix!!!

I keep coming across a issue. My iPhone has about 900 pictures on it, but when I go try to import into iPhoto on MacBook Pro, iPhoto calculates up to almost 2,000 photos. Then when complete, i see almost three or two copies of each picture that is from my iPhone, being shown in iPhoto BEFORE I select import 2,000 pictures. I have no duplicates on my iPhone. How do I stop that? I'm trying to organize my photos in iPhoto but I keep getting duplicates upon duplicates when trying to import. CAN ANY ONE HELP!!! Please and Thank you

Well since both iPhoto and Image Capture see 2000 images that indicates that the issue is with your phone not with the Mac - and that there are 2000 images on your phone - if you have turned on HDR then those photos will have multiple images of each shot with different exposure - the iPhone will only show one image but when you import them you get all versions
I suspect if you look closely you will find tha tsome of the shots were taken using HDR

IPhoto-iPhone sync creates duplicate photos

Every time I sync my iphone with iPhoto, it duplicates photos. It's not photos that were taken with the iphone, but photos that I have imported from other sources, such as wallpaper images. Every week or so I go through and delete hundreds of duplicates. It does this even when specify NOT to import duplicates. Is there any way to stop this behavior?

Try deleting the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and delete it ("your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist) launch iPhoto and reset any user preferences you have changed and if you have moved the location of the iPhoto library repoint to it

IPhoto has duplicate pictures when browsing iPhone photos

It's really strange. I plug in my iPhone and iPhoto displays duplicate of all photos, but my iPhone continues to only have 1 copy.
I kept trying to upload all 5,700 photos but iPhoto kept freezing on me. I re-opened it to try again and again then I noticed the dupes.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You don't need to burrow into the iPhoto Library package via the Finder to find photos for use outside iPhoto. Read Terence Devlin's treatise on file access for use outside of iPhoto. It's the best explanation of how to do what you want available.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Lost photos updating to 4, iphone explorer fix not working.

History of my update.
First attempt.
Using my offices PC, I plugged my 3G in and it proceeded to start backing up. It proceeds very slowly, and stops before it completes backup.
I figure in order to speed up the backup, I will delete all my free apps on my phone manually. I don't have many apps, I left the one app that actually cost me something.
I plug it in to my wifes macbook, the backup completes a lot quicker. I unplug the phone just to let it do it one more time. We then download the OS 4 update.
I plug the phone back in to update my phone to the new OS. It starts doing a backup which appears to go EXTREMELY slow. It's late so I went to bed, wake up the next morning with OS 4 running but all 1800 of my pictures are gone except the first 30 or so I took when I got the phone, and my guitar tuner app that I left on the phone is also gone.
We checked the mobile backups and there are no backup files on my wifes mac.
I read about the iphone explorer fix. we download it, and there aren't any files in the media folder to show.
I have most of my important pictures on facebook, but it would be nice to get them all back.
I'm not very technical, obviously, any help would be appreciated.

Why can't iPhoto recognize duplicate pictures?

My dad recently reinstalled OSX on his computer. He regularly backs up his photos on discs and hard drives, so there's a lot of overlap. While importing the files back into iPhoto 6, duplicates of two, three, and sometimes four keep popping up. Why can't iPhoto not import duplicates like the camera import? We can't possibly sort through 10,000 photos manually!

You might also like to research how to back up and restore iPhoto to avoid the problem occurring in the first place. For instance, if you've backed up the entire iPhoto Library Folder, then all you need to do is copy it back to the Pictures Folder and launch iPhoto - there's no importing. Something similar is the case if you've backed up using the Share -> Burn command. The specifics will vary depending on how you back up.

Can iPhoto find Duplicate Photos

Can iPhoto find Duplicate Photos like iView Media can? I don't mean finding duplicate names, but rather analyzing the actual photo itself and finding doubles.
Strangly enough, this is one of the remaining reasons for me needing to use iView for some tasks.

No, iPhoto hasn't this functionality. It would be a nice feature though.
You can also use GraphicConverter to find your duplicate photos.

Can I quit iPhoto while Duplicate Annihilator is running?

I just bought Duplicate Annihilator v2.22.0 and when I press, "find and annihilate duplicates", iPhoto opens. Now, I wanted to know if I can quit iPhoto while Duplicate Annihilator is running. Though the application states, "IMPORTANT! Do not interfere with iPhoto during the process", I wouldn't really be interfering with it, would I?

Oh I think that quitting the app would count as interference.
However, for best support you should contact the Makers of the app.

Lorsque je crée des albums partagés a partir de iphoto sur mon mac, dans iphoto iphone le partage apparait mais à l interieur je n est pas toutes les photos.
Exemple un album avec 50 photos , j en ai 10 qui apparaissent dans iphoto de l iphone.
alors que dasn l application native photo de l iphone dans partagé elles apparaissent toutes.

Is the iPhone recognizing your taps?
If it recognizes taps and is showing the disabled message, you'll have to restore the iPhone with the computer it was last synced with or restored as new from another computer.
If it doesn't recognize the taps, it sounds like you need to send it back in for service.

1 - try iPLM and see if it does. The free demo version is all you need.
2 - No. Photos have to be imported into iPhoto. After they are the source files can be deleted from wherever they originated.
However, you must be running a "managed" library:
