IPhoto – iPod Album sync issues

Has anybody else noticed that iPhoto albums do always make it to the iPod, but that the album sort order doesn’t? All albums – SmartAlbums and regular, that I have created since the initial iPod transfer, have wound up at the bottom of the iPod album list. This is most frustrating, as I prefer the sorted list I have in iPhoto, which usually puts the newer ones on the top. The longer I scroll through the albums, the more cautious non-iPod users become (I meet many who are otherwise quite impressed with the mobile family photo album).
My only plan to correct this is to restore my iPod.
Any and all help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

  • Ipod manual sync issues

Why does my iPod not sync all the songs in a playlist when I manually sync it with my computer? It shows up as 51 songs in the playlist on my mac (all software is updated, included itunes recent version), but only 48 on the ipod playlist.

i know it sounds tedious but try and play every song on the list
if some of them give error messages and then show an exclemation mark next to them that means ur itunes still has them listed but the songs are not where the itunes thinks they are (them being deleted for instance) and thus does not actually have them to sync over. that would cause this issue.
if thats the case u should delete the songs that have those excelmation marks and resync. the playlist should be the same after that.

  • IPod Touch Sync Issues - Fails, then 100% CPU

I've been having a problem where when I try to sync my iPod Touch on my computer, it fails some way through, then the CPU is cranked up to 100% and I have to forcibly restart my computer. Ever since I've installed Windows 7 64-bit I've been having sync issues so I tried restoring it completely and I got myself into this mess. I originally had Vista 32-bit so I'm not sure if it's because of the change. But I have an HP Pavilion dv2615nr. Any help would be greatly appreciated cause I cannot get any music onto my iPod.

    dv2615nr
I believe you've got an nVidia chipset on that model. If so, and you've got over 4 GB of RAM, you'll need to update your Host Controllers.
It's available either as a Microsoft hotfix:
[You encounter problems when you move data over USB from a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer that has an NVIDIA USB EHCI chipset and at least 4GB of RAM|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972]
... or as a Host Controller update from HP:
[Driver update for Win7 USB issue on nVidia chipset systems now available|http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Lockups-Freezes-Hangs/Driver-update-for- Win7-USB-issue-on-nVidia-chipset-systems-now/m-p/188193]
(Unfortunately, it doesn't always appear on the downloads page for a specific model ... if you upgrade to 7 on some earlier models, they don't always provide all potentially relevant drivers. I couldn't find any Windows 7 drivers available for you model for example.)
To doublecheck to see if your model does have an nVidia chipset, it might be worth posting over at the HP Support forums.

  • Ipod 4 sync issues

New Ipod touch will not sync, it connects, recognises the IPod, runs through the 4 sync steps but will not sync music from ITunes? Using a PC for ITunes....

Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer? If so you can only use the manual method and that only works with music and videos.

  • IPod 5G sync issue with Windows 8

I have an iPod 5G and recently bought a new Acer laptop with Windows 8. I can open itunes and it claims the iPod is syncing but nothing happens. When I try to eject it I receive an error message stating that files are in use with another application. Any suggestions how I can figure out what other application is running these files? I tried to restore the iPod but received the same error message.

I am having the same problem. It just won't sync. iTunes always end up shutting itself down or I have to force quit it because it quits responding. My iPhone syncs fine...no problems whatsoever. For some reason my 16gb iPod Touch with 2.1 is hanging up in iTunes 8.

  • Iphoto album synced issue...

Has anyone noticed once you sync an iphoto album and open pictures, then while your on the "photo albums" screen and press the home button and the app closes there is a white pixel that stalls for a second in the middle of the third row of apps?
    I know I'm nitpicking...maybe I'll send some feedback...

it only happens via photos app, none of the others, its like the gui is messed up for the closing of this app...I submitted a bug, but it is a very small detail...

  • 5th Generation iPod Touch Syncing issues

I recently receive a 5th Generation iPod Touch as a gift and I am having issues with it. I plugged the iPod into my Windows 7 PC with iTunes 11.4.0.18 and had issues from the start. First, my iPod would not even sync any media content from my library. So I messed around with the settings until the content was on my iPod. Once, it was on there I went to play a song that I had downloaded and it immediately skipped the song and kept going to the next available song , so I went back on to the forums to see that it could be a corruption on the backup and all you would have to do is restore your iPod and it would fix your issue. I did that got to the same step and a few songs played but most skipped. The album art is there for most of the songs not the music. I then went to iPod>On this iPod to find that every song I had just sync had an exclamation point error by the song. This is only happening on the On this iPod menu the music plays fine on the music menu without an issue. I am curious of what I am doing wrong here? I also read that it could be a much bigger problem in that I would have to delete all my music and re-install it. If that is the case I will deal with the iPod as is. It is not worth my time to spend hours trying to re-install 15+ GB on my PC again.

Verify that all play in iTunes on the computer.

  • 3rd generation iPod touch syncing issues

The last time I tried to sync my iTunes account through a wired connection between my Macbook Pro and 3rd generation iPod touch, I had some major issues.
First: It deleted the YouTube, iBooks, Netflix, Dropbox, Facebook, and Kindle apps from my iPod and will not let me reinstall them because they are "not compatible with this iPod." This is really annoying.  It means I can never sync my computer with my iPod again.  The only way I can get those apps on my iPod is if I go to the store in the iPod and download each one individually.
Second: Some songs that I have recently acquired will not sync with my iPod because they are not the right format or something.  I never had issues with this before.  This song is in the same format as some songs I aready have on the iPod.
Solutions I have tried:  I tried reinstalling iTunes and it didn't help.  I tried reseting my iPod to factory settings and starting with a "new iPod," twice.  This did not help either.
My Question: Is this an issue because my iPod is out of date and means that I am just SOL or can it be fixed?

The shuffle and iPod touch use different drivers.
    See:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with:

  • Ipod Touch Sync Issues

When connecting my ipod to iTunes, it will start to sync and then a triangle with an ! inside it appears and disappears when I select it.  Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix?

USB works fine for everything else (portable hard drives, synching and charging android phone etc). The PC I was using last night was a win7 x64 Dell with a freshly reinstalled version of the latest itunes.
But I don't think the issue is to do with the computer or OS or itunes, as I have tried it in several machines this morning including a couple of macs.
Whichever machine I connect it to it simply doesn't pick up the fact that an ipod is present (or indeed any USB device).
Which goes back to my original question, is there a pin in the docking connector that controls this and might this be broken?
    Thanks

  • 2nd Generation Ipod Touch Sync issue with Apps.

I have a 2nd generation Ipod touch and Itunes says that I have 6 apps that need to be updated. But when I go to the Itunes app area and try to update it says there is not updates. How do I determine which apps are causing the issue? What can I do to reset the number? Any help is very much appreciated.
    Thanks!  Dave

My guess is that those Apps require iOS 4.3 or later, which a 2nd generation Touch cannot install.
So the notification in iTunes (programme on your computer) will say there are updates to the Apps, because there are. However, since your iPod cannot use them, if you look at the App Store App on your iPod, those Apps won't be (shouldn't be) listed. Occasionally, I think they do get added to the notification number showing in the Apps Store icon on the iPod. I currently have two Apps like that.
    Important:
What you should not do must not do is update the Apps in your iTunes Library (on the computer). If you do, then your next Sync of the iPod Touch to your iTunes Library will remove the App from your iPod and you will lose the App.
My advice is that you ignore the notification number in your Apps Store App icon. It is no longer accurate or even meaningful. Instead, go to the Apps section of your iTunes Library and click on the X updates Available message. That will take you to the Store and list the updateable Apps. Unfortunately, you will need to check each one individually for it's Requirements. If it now requires iOS 4.3 or later - or an iPod Touch 3rd generation running iOS 4.2.1, do not download it. I think that now, every update will require iOS 4.3 or iOS 5, so there will probably be no Apps that you can update. If you do find one, you can update just that individual one by selecting Update as shown below.
I'm in the same boat as you:
Unfortunately, far too many people simply rant on about this, so that it's impossible to get together and lobby Apple to modify this so that those of us with older iPods can continue to use older versions of the Apps. They (Apple) appear to have forgotten that if an existing customer is not in a position to replace their aging iPod with the latest one, then that customer may no longer be able to use an App - thus losing the App's designer his/her customers.
I can see that their thinking is obviously; "the customer will buy a newer iPod because they want to have the latest iPod/they want to continue to use their Apps".
Hhhmmm! Not in the real world!

  • Ipod classic syncing issues with itunes

My IPod classic wont sync anymore and I fear the harddrive might be shot. the ipod deleted all my music randomly, I have restored it but now I cant get it to sync properly with itunes.
Itunes recognises it, and starts syncing (in manual and auto) however it freezes a few songs in and doesnt get any further. When I unplug the ipod, the error message comes up saying ipod sync failed, and lists a number of songs which it could not sync (different songs every time)
Is the problem with itunes or with the ipod harddrive?
Appriciate any help with this one,
    thanks,
    Phil

  • OH MY HELP!  iPod Music Sync Issue

updated itunes (which hasn't been done in a very long time)
got all set up... just purchased new songs...tried to sync everything...my old classic ipod syncs up fine (time, space, etc) ...but the new songs are not downloading no matter what i try.  tried creating a playlist and that doesn't do it either.
this is my 2nd computer which is authorized so i don't know what to do next....and i'm leaving for vacation very soon   HELP!!

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If all music wasn't purchased from the iTunes store, your iTunes library should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important dat on your computer's hard drive, which should have been updated before your computer was restored by whoever restored your computer without your knowledge and permission.
