There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on eight different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

If I import it, a message comes up Unreadable file, the following file could not be imported. them it tells me where the file is and it cannot be opened. If I do not import, then it says,The photo has been placed in the folder /Users/patrick*******/Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_4. It will just keep adding to recvovered photos. This drives me crazy!!!!!!! How do I fix this?

I had this problem some months ago and the following solution from Terrence Delvin put things right:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

Peter is correct. However, one can clever up two overlayed, grouped Text Box and simulate a hyperlinked image that can be placed in the document body with text flowing around the image. Moving the image requires temporarily turning off the hyperlink in the Link inspector. Example was Pages ’09 v4.3 on OS X 10.8.4.
Steps:
From the Pages Toolbar, select Text Box twice. The Text Box will be slightly offset. Select and drag the offset one to just above the centered one.
Click inside the centered Text Box and back out the placeholder text. Now select this Text Box and choose the graphic inspector.
Choose Fill > Image Fill. Choose your image, and then Scale to Fit the entire Text Box.
From the Pages arrange menu, choose Make Background Objects Selectable, and Send Object to Background.
In the Wrap inspector, select Object Causes Wrap, and your choice there. My example was door #2.
Click inside your text-only Text Box. Change the placeholder text to three instances of the capital letter ‘O.’
Launch the Font panel (command+T).
Manually change the font size to 92 points. This just fits a default Text Box size without wrapping. I used Times New Roman Regular.
Select the text, and with the Link inspector, enable your choice of hyperlink, and also disable it (for now) with the “Make all hyperlinks inactive.”
With the text still selected, choose Font color from the Font panel. At the bottom of the Color tool, set the Opacity of your text to zero.
Drag the transparent text-only Text Box exactly over the top of your image Text Box. Use the blue guides.
From the Pages edit menu, Select All. From the Pages Arrange menu, choose Group.
Drag the Text Box group where you want it in your document body. Text will flow around it if you used my setting in the Wrap inspector.
Lastly, with the Text Box group selected, disable “Make all Hyperlinks inactive” in the Link Inspector. You now effectively have a text map overlaying your image and the mouse pointer changes to a hand. The link is now active. Exporting your Pages document to PDF preserves the hyperlinked image effect in both Preview and Acrobat Reader.

My Illustrator file icons don't match what the actual file image is. How can I fix this?

I'm using Illustrator 5.0 with MAC OS 10.8.4 and the Illustrator file icons are different thatn the actual file image. It's using the same image for 5 different files. THey all started out the same, but I edited them and then did a save as, but the file icon image didn't update. How can I fix this? I tried resaving the files and copying the files, but it didn't work.

Are you on CS5 or the very old AI5, which a few vinyl cut shops may have?
Do a save as , and enable PDF Compatible. That usually helps if the icons are blank, but may help you.
If that don't help do a command I on the file, select the icon, and hit the delete key to see if anything happens.

“Save” is not a term used with LR to create images. What are you trying to do, exactly, in terms of LR menu options?
Are there questions marks on the thumbnails for the images that say File could not be found?
Sometimes a screenshot can communicate things quicker than words.

Iphoto seems to be deleting old (several years old) images that hav the same name as new images being loaded. how can i fix this?

I was browsing some old photos in iPhoto11 and started getting 'image not found' errors. After much investigation, rebuilding thumbnails and extracting photos using fatface iphoto library manager it seems that newer photos with the same name as very old photos (Canon camera naming scheme IMG_nnnn.jpg) have caused the old photos to be deleted? I thought iphoto handled this situation but it seems not.
I never got any error or warning messages on importing the newer photos. Naturally the old ones have been in there for years and were originally imported using older versions of iphoto.
As it happens I do have all these old photos stored elsewhere so its not a case of panicking but I could do with a solution going forwards.
Has anyone else encountered this (and of course if so how did you resolve it?)

Every new import to iPhoto goes into a new folder on the HD, so no, iPhoto doesn't overwrite older images with the same filename.
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

Photoshop CS5.5 makes my screen black out on my iMac. How can I fix?

When I use Photoshop CS 5.5 it makes my iMac screen flicker or black out. This is only a recent problem, I have been using this version of Photoshop for three years with no trouble. I don't think its a problem with the screen as it only happen when I use Photoshop to crop or resize an image. I am running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try the standard fixes:
- Rest. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod
If still problem then time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Recently I bought my macbook with retina display and when I plugged it into the television with using the HDMi cord it worked perfectly fine with the image on the television. But now I when I plug it in to the television it comes up with a black screen and a white mouse. I was thinking that you may need to reset the iPod Nano, outlined here How to reset iPod http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
If that doesn't quite get the iPod going again, then it will need to be restored. Use this article to help with that Restoring iPod to factory settings http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1339.

Colors not saving correctly when image is saved, how can I fix this?

Hi! I've been a photoshop user for my newish photography business since this past summer. I honestly still have a lot to learn, but thankful my images have always been spot on, until now...you see, I recently discovered that when I open my png or jpeg files (these images were saved in ps cc), the photos appear to be dull and muted. It ls like the vibrance/saturation has been shifted down and yellow tones removed or muted greatly. I even saved some fo these files on a disk and reopened them onto my computer and they still look awful. I did not change any of my settings and to be honest, I don't know which ones are the best to work with since every photog I've asked has told me something different....buuuuut beside the point...nothing has changed. My profile settings are the same and I am confused and rather frustrated. If you know how to fix this issue, please share with me because I am at a loss.
How I edit photos:
Import into lightroom
Edit with preset
Export with preset into PS CC
Do finishing touched
Save as jpeg
Here is a screen shot from my computer. The photo on the right is the saved photo and the left is the photoshop photo. If you can tell, the photo on the left is dull and appears to be very flat. It also does not have the golden undertones that the ps cc photo has, which is what I want...

What color space are you working the images in? The Info panel and the little status box at the lower-left of the editing canvas can be set to show you your current color profile. I set the Info panel to show me the profile myself.
When you do File - Save As to save the JPEG, are you saving the color profile with the JPEG?
Lastly, when you say "the photos appear to be dull and muted", how are you comparing them (specifically)? Are you sure the application you're using to compare them with what you see in Photoshop is color-managed?
I suspect what may be happening is that you're editing your photos using a wide gamut color space, then either saving the JPEG work product without a color profile or viewing it in an application that does not support color-management.
Regarding someone telling you the best settings to use... The thing is, it's not really possible to suggest specific settings without knowing a lot more about your particular working environment. We don't know, for example, whether the printing process you're using will properly interpret the color profile. You should regard with suspicion any advice that suggests "set it and forget it" settings without trying to understand your color-management needs.

Please not that the iPhone uses mono channel for internal speakers, the other path that you see is not the speaker per say. It is the phone microphone. Try using headphones, you will hear both channels. If the problem still persists when using headphones, check your sound balancing in the settings. Go to setting-general-accessibility scroll down and check the slide under mono audio. It should be put at the centre for you to hear both channels ON YOUR HEADPHONES

My ipod nano 4th generation will plug into itunes and if i push buttons i can hear music, however the whole time the screen is black so its a guessing game. how do i fix this?

my 4th generation ipod nano works but its a guessing game. the screen is totally black even when plugged into my computer. itunes still recognizes it. is the screen broke is it the backlight, any suggestions how to find out or to fix this? oh and ive completely restored the ipod several times. i let someone borrow it and this is how i got it back so i dont know what caused the problem.

I checked for anything either bent or broken, and as far as I know everything looks fine, though I could probably clean out the dust and dirt collected in there after a year. I could take a picture if that would help. Would being dirty inside there cause this to happen? It's one thing I guess I never thought of and probably should do.
