Iphoto is gone, how do I get it back without paying?

I've installed Mavericks and suddenly iPhoto is no longer an available app? Do I really have to buy it again although I had it with the old OS system?

reinstall from the original source
Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer
or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

    Hello!!!
I had 21 songs i my album and after syncronising i only had 15 songs left! All of them from Itunes! How can i get them back without paying for them again???
    Hello!!!
    This realy works??

Where is the backup of the media and other important files from the computer?  Ultimately, it is the users responsibility to ensure that backups exists. Waiting until there is a problem to decide to do a backup is not smart.  Would you wait until a fire started in your home to call the insurance company and inquire about homeowners/renters insurance????
In the event that no backup exists (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files):
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content.  They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes.  On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer.  Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this.

As far as I know rentals are one-off downlaods, but you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Express Lane, then iTunes > iTunes Store

  • Computer was updated, iphoto is gone--how can i get it back?

i recently had some repairs done on my computer and in the process they also updated me to mac OS X version 10.5.4, which is wonderful, but my entire iphoto application seems to have disappeared and all my attempts to redownload the application online have failed because there's no original copy of the software on my computer for software updates to work with. i don't want to have to pay for the application which i already owned. is there a simple way for me to get it back?
    thank you!

It sounds like they did an erase and install. You will need to reinstall the iApps from the disks that the came on originally. Read this MacWorld article on how to do that: Reinstalling OS X applications.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • After apple store erased and re-installed iPhoto has gone. how do I get it back ?

macbook air 14 mths old wouldn't turn on. apple store said corrupted hard drive. erased and re-installed os x 10.8 . now restoring back up but iPhoto missing and iTunes and app stores says os version doesn't support them. What can I do ?

Visit the store, log in and download again, what you can get. Apps are no problem, even videos.
Regarding music, this is not since ever that you can download music again. So if there are older purchases, like from 5 years ago, you can't simply download them again from the store.
In this case, contact iTunes support saying you lost all music purchases from before a certain date and kindly asking if they would make that available for download for you and most probably they will. The store keeps your purchase history, so they can verify.
After all or at least most of the stuff is ack on HDD again - make a backup! And later, regularly make backups again. Remember it.

  • Full Adobe products installations lost with Windows "Refresh." How do I get them back without paying again?

Had many full Adobe products legally installed on my computer, needed to fix errors so did a Windows "Refresh," now all gone and Adobe doesn't recognize me as having had them.  What do I do?  I'm signed in, but the Adobe DL site is offering me free 30-day trials, and I think I must "own" 20 or so of Adobe's products:  Elements, Premier movie maker, Edge, Lightbopx, Acrobat Pro, etc.

I don't see how I'll be notified if someone answers.  My email address is [email protected]  TY All.  Also, if your answer is "you'll be prompted to enter your serial number for the products you legitimately own," (since I just discovered this while installing Acrobat), then my answer to that is (1) did the "refresh" not also remove all records of my registrations, (2), if not, where would I find the numbers, and (3) doesn't signing in to Adobe not provide me access to those things?  [Sorry to be such a PITA)

  • Lost all apps, how do I get them back without paying?

I updated my os earlier today, and walked away from my phone/computer. I came back to find my cat fighting my wire, and he had pulled it out of my phone during the update. Of course, this was the one time I didn't backup because it wasn't my computer. So I plugged my phone into my laptop and went to turn it on, only to find that someone had spilled something all over it, and I cannot get it to turn on. I lost everything, but most of all I want my apps back, I had quite a few. I looked around on the app store for something like download previous downloaded apps but didnt see anything. ANy help?
