IPhoto is not opening. Screen will turn blue. Toggles between screens but not able to open
Can anyone help me with trying to open IPhoto? I cannot seem to open my IPhoto program. The screen will trun light blue and won't allow me to look at old photos

I have had the blue tint screen, although I found that rebooting eliminated the problem. It did reappear for a short while when hooking up a 2nd screen. I called Apple tech support and the tech said that the screen can go blue when there is not enough power to the screen. II have heard that Mountain Lion takes a bit more juice, that it is a software bug, and that Apple is working on this.
I actually was going to go to the Apple store and insist on an upgrade from my Late 2011 to mid 2012 because I thought it was the AMD graphics chip, and I wanted the Nvidia chip of the 2012, but now I see you have the same issue.
It appears to be a Mountain Lion issue that should be fixed soon by Apple.
Are you using a 2nd monitor? Are you plugged in?

My iphone volume turns down randomly own its own. It will turn up on the buttons, but will turn back down by itself and i have to fight the volume to keep it from muting. Plus, the mute logo stays on the screen when it mutes itself. Please help.

Importing photos from iphoto to aperture causes blacks to turn blue. color corruption?
I have a large library of jpg photos in iPhoto 11 v 9.3.1 and imported the library into aperture 3.3.1
After importing to aperture, the thumbnails all look normal, but when I view the photos in full size, pure black is turning blue and pure whites are turning red.
is there a setting that i'm missing or do i need to prepare the iphoto library before importing to aperture to prevent this problem?
Has anyone else had this happen?
The original masters all look normal when viewed in the finder, so it seems like a problem with aperture.To add to Kirby's excellent advice: Depending on the layout of your keyboard or your own command settings, the "Highlight Hot & Cold Areas" may be bound to a different key; You see the key when you select the command directly from the "View" menu. Iphoto is not able to load my pictures
Hello I have a problem while running iphoto. The program is not able to load my pictures it gets stock searching for pictures and does not displays a single image, none of the commands respond
Can you give an advice.
How can I reinstall this program.

Well I would start by deleting iPhoto and it's files. Do not touch the iPhoto Library folder found in the Pictures folder.
To reinstall iPhoto...
Navigate to /Applications and drag iPhoto to the trash
Navigate to /Library/Receipts and drag all iPhoto receipts to the trash
Navigate to ~/Library/Preferences and drag com.apple.iPhoto.plist to the trash.
Look at this link and see what info pertains to you to reinstall iPhoto from your computer discs.
How to restore your Apple software

Look all the way down the page for a downloadable version of Software restore to use in Tiger that works with your OS 10.2 computer specific software.
Install iPhoto.
Run Software Update and update iPhoto.
Hopefull you will be able to open your iPhoto Library.

If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.

IPhoto '11 not able to playback videos
I have been trying to view videos in iphoto that I have recorded on my canon s95. The camera shoots h.264 720p @ 24fps. Any video I try to watch in iPhoto '11 starts ok for a few seconds, then starts to get jittery, choppy (whatever you want to call it), skips ahead and looses the sound. I've read in the forums that with older versions of iPhoto, there was a need to install quicktime 7 (especially it seems with snow leapord 10.6.1). Does anyone know if this applies to iPhoto '11? This seems bizare to me. Why would you need to downgrade to watch a video that has been recorded in modern format? For reference, the same problem applies in iMovie if just playing the video (not doing any editing).
Could this be associated with the stock POS hd (320 gb, 5400 rpm hitachi) apple ships with these machines and if so would an upgrade to something like a seagate momentus xt improve the playback? The laptop tends to be quite slow all the time, so I suspect that this is the major bottle neck.
Could it be the autoswitching between the intel hd graphic and the nvidia geforce gt 330m?
Also, how does iPhoto handle video playback? Is it launching quicktime within the program?
Is it possible that I need to download a new codec for quicktime 10 to get these videos to work in iPhoto? If so, where do I find and install them?
Finally, how do I open one of these videos that sit in iPhoto in another video player (be it quicktime or vlc or mplayerx, etc) to see if there is a h/w problem or an iPhoto problem.
I know some of this is not strickly related to iPhoto '11, but its where I noted the problem so this is where I'm starting
Thanks for the help!Yes iPhoto simply calls on Quicktime to play the videos.
Simple test: export one - just drag it to the Desktop - and see if it will play in VLC. (Oh and QT 7 is not a downgrade, it's a very different app.) The problem is unlikely to be an issue with the Hard DIsk.
You can install Perian which will add codecs to Quicktime. Otherwise check on the site of your camera maker.

Iphoto 10 not able to download photos from kodak digital camera.
Working fine every time till recently and now the thumbnails have no image, just blank boxes and won't import new photos.

So far have not seen a fix for the problem. A workaround is to use a card reader to upload the photos to the Desktop and then import into iPhoto.

Most of the time when I turn on the Mac I get the white screen and question mark appear. Sometimes it will turn on and work. But often the coloured spinning wheel starts up especially after trying to use iphoto it freezes and a couple of times the screen has then gone black. The computer seemed pretty warm yesterday when this happened.
Any suggestions of what I should do to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Have a problem with my screen turning blue after exiting Safari or Firefox, what is going on?
Have been having an intermittent problem with my MacBook Pro running 10.6.8.
When either running Safari or Firefox the desktop will turn blue and i have to hard reboot in order to use my Mac again.
Please help.Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Step 1
Enter "WindowServer" (without the quotes) in the Filter text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the same process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Screen turns blue and Satellite C850D-11Q shut down
I bought a Satellite C850D-11Q runnings Windows 8 from Curry's in the UK for my daughter just before Christmas- was a very good price under 300- however she says that she will be browsing on the internet and or doing a variety of other tasks (no particular process seems to be implicated) and suddenly the screen will turn blue and the computer will shut down and reboot for no apparent reason. It has done this at least 30 times in a month.
BSOD means that there is either an hardware problem or serious software issue.
The BSOD can be caused by high temperature as well as RAM problems.
So its not easy to say what cause the BSOD.
Ensure that notebook is cooled properly.
Furthermore if temperature is not the problem, try to recover the system using the recovery options described in user manual and in this document:

Hi can someone please fix my problem for me! when I open my mail I have many recipes and so I click my mouse on one of the recipes and it turns blue , then i used to be able to drag my mouse down so all of the recipes are blue and then move them to my folder. now I cannot do that what happened!!!!!
