IPhoto keeps quitting "unexpectedly" when exporting to FB/Flikr
And gives me a message saying it has deleted the Flikr/FB album but the images still exist in iPhoto. It has happened several times. One time, the photos actually were NOT retained in iPhoto -- the date/event folder that held them in inexplicably empty. But mostly it just kills the export, says the FB/Flikr album has been deleted and then iPhoto quits unexpectedly.
I'm going to go see if I can find the first 50 lines of the error log to post here. I've sent it to Apple each time.
I'm fairly frustrated!
How to backup? You should be doing regular backups - if you are not you will lose all of yoru files and photos sooner or later
If you are not ready to lose all of your photos then you need to pruchase an external hard drive and start backing up immdeiately - for simplicity I recoommend a Time Capsule and Time Machine - but any backup is better than none - I do two daily
For this simply make a temporary copy of your iPhoto library
Will it fix the FB problem - hopefully

Iphoto keeps quitting unexpectedly when trying to share photos on Facebook.
iphoto keeps quitting unexpectedly when trying to share photos on Facebook. This only started a short while ago. I never used to have issues posting pictures before. Moreover, it also tells me there are issues with my library and prompts a "repair" of my iphoto library. This is scary - I have tons of pics and I'm not ready to lose any of them! I did change cameras a month ago, but it is the same make as I had before - a Canon powershot SX150 IS. Could it have anything to do with it? Could it be the fact that I keep so many pictures in iphoto (10,000 +)?

Iphoto keeps quitting unexpectedly
I just bought a brand new imac. Just tried to save some pics from Photobooth and open them on iphoto but iphoto keeps quitting unexpectedly. It keeps asking me if I want to import some photos it has found when I launch it. It then quickly closes. I created another account and iphoto is fine with that account....what's wrong and how can i fix it on my original admin account? thanks
A couple of things to try
1 - quit iPhoto (sounds like that is easy ) delete the iPhoto preferences - hard drive ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iphoto.plist and restart iPhoto
2 - if that does not fix it, quit iPhoto, right click (alt click) on the iPhoto library in your pictures folder (if you have not moved it) and select Show Package Contents - drag the photos to import (not positive of the exact name) to the desktop and start iPhoto - assuming that you are ok now you can try importing the photos from the desktop folder one by one to see which one is the problem

IPhoto '11 quits unexpectedly when I place an order for a book. After about 2 pages are uploaded or processed (the first step) iPhoto quits. Software is up to date and I have ordered books before in earlier versions of iPhoto. This is the first order in iPhoto '11.
iPhoto has quit unexpectedly before but this is consistent when ordering a book.I have the exact same problem. If you try to "export as PDF" the same thing happens even with a new book project with no text and no photos. (You can make a PDF via the print command but that doesn't help much when ordering a book.)
I deleted the iPhoto plist, did a restart, checked for bad fonts, checked and rebuilt the iPhoto library, tried signing in as a different user, checked for updates, repaired permissions, all to no avail. (I don't have any third party iPhoto plug-ins.)
I happened to have another hard drive with a fresh OS on it - I installed iLife on it, did a software update. I opened iPhoto and picked my existing library and everything worked with out an issue and I was able to order my book.
I assume that there is a software conflict in my system, I just don't have an idea what it could be.
I think I'll wait for 10.7 and get a new hard drive and get a fresh start - unless someone can come up with a solution... -
My iPhoto keeps quitting unexpectedly and won't open. I don't know what to do. Please help!
Do you get a crash report? If so post just the first 50 lines of it.

How do I stop my iPhoto from "quitting unexpectedly" when I try to import photos?
How do I stop my iPhoto from "quitting unexpectedly" when I try to import photos?
Whenever I try to import photos to iPhoto or even just edit photos on iPhoto, iPhoto quits unexpectedly.
When I import a photo, before it is finished, iPhoto closes, and a message comes that says "iPhoto quit unexpectedly"
What should I do? How can I import my photos now? Please help!I have found if you iTunes open while importing photos to iPhoto it will quit unexpectedly - try closing iTunes. Also, try selecting and importing 100 or fewer photos per import...seems like it quits more often when trying to transfer large quantities (like over 200 photos).
I wish Apple would update iPhoto with the same auto-sync feature in iTunes so I could sync photo libraries between computers without trying to figure out which ones are new (although as of this posting the other option is purchasing a 3d party photo sync program). -
Iphoto is quitting unexpectedly when I double click a photo
iphoto is quitting unexpectedly when I double click a photo within iPhoto to enlarge it or scroll all the way to the top to the most recent pictures. Any ideas? I have the most recent version and all updates are done. HELP!
Now we try repair the original Library. Switch back to it:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
Then assuming you're using iPhoto 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

IPhoto quits unexpectedly when exporting slideshow
iPhoto quits unexpectedly when I export a slideshow. I'm using the following command 'File', 'Export', 'Slideshow tab', unchecking automatically send to iTunes and checking Large. With experimentation I've discovered it will export if I select Medium, and will fail if Display is checked. I've also verified that sharing to iDVD via Share works fine.
I've simplified the slideshow to two slides, and get the same crash.
I'm running this on a Mac Mini, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB memory, exporting to my Mac's HD, which has 95 Gb free space.
The information that is presented is pasted below -- let me know anything else that would be useful to help resolve.
Can anyone offer suggestions to help me with this? Thanks!

IMovie keeps quitting unexpectedly when I'm trying to convert a project to iDVD.
It processes for about an hour then when it's done processing it quits and gives me a message saying "iMovie quit unexpectedly" every single time! I've never had trouble converting and burning a project to DVD before and successfully made a DVD just last week. Help?
I would suggest asking in the Export PDF forum, giving full details about your problem and your setup: Adobe ExportPDF (read only)

Quits unexpectedly when exporting multitrack mixdown
I've recently updated to Audtion CC. Everytime I try to export the multitrack mixdown, I've received an error and Audition quits unexpectedly:
Is there a fix for this?Totally insufficient information to say anything about this at all. Can't even tell what OS it is, but if it's a Mac with early Mavericks on it then you need to update it - it's a pile of crap, apparently. If it's Windows and you continue to get problems, then send the error log file that Audition will generate to [email protected] for the devs to look at.

IPhoto keeps quitting unexpectedly after upgrade
This afternoon I upgraded to iLife 08. I had two photo books in the works in 06'. Tonight when I went to finish one of the books, anytime I tried to do anything (switch themes, backgrounds, pictures etc), iPhoto would unexpectedly quit. I deleted the plists and am in the process of repairing permissions. I also did a restart which did not help. I really need to get these books finished as they are xmas gifts. I also noticed un. quits when switching between various photo albums. Any ideas?
Karen:
Are the themes of the books those that are available in iPhoto 8 or carryovers from iPhoto 6 and no longer offered in V8?
I suggest you download and run iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild the library. This creates a new library while leaving your current one intact. Here's how:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: It may take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos. Report back on how long it took and how many photos you have in the library so we can give other users an idea of how long it may take.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file. -
Why does iphoto keep quitting unexpectedly?
Using a MacBook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3. OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63). Every time I drop a photo into iPhoto today, the program "quit[s] unexpectedly." I have a copy of the problem report if needed.
Post the first 50 lines or so of the crash log, please.

Final Cut Pro Quitting Unexpectedly When Exporting Video
Currently running Final Cut Pro version 6.0.6. Never really had a problem with anything. I am trying to export a video I edited of a show which is around 2hr. 30mins. In the past, I've exported this type of file and never had any problems, just took a little bit of time. Currently trying to export at the size of 1280x720 and when I do, Final Cut begins to export, gives me an estimated time, gets to about 9% and then quits. No reason why? I have never had this before on any of my machines. I currently have about 50GB of hardrive space free, so I am really not sure why. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
-Matthewand you can export sections til you find the problem clip.
You might also try creating a new sequence with the same settings, and copy everything from the problem sequence. This will sometimes resolve this kind of issue.
