IPhoto launches every time i plug my iPad into my iMac

Every time I plug my ipad into my imac to sync it launches iphoto. Not sure why this continues to happen. Anyone have any ideas that can help me??

No promises but a system Reset cures many ills and takes but a minute to perform:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A Reset does NOT delete apps, photos, movies, music or any other data. A Reset does NOT delete any settings for email, network access, etc.
Also, you might wish to download the 4.2 User Guide. Pay special attention to page 170.

  • Why does my iTunes stop working every time I plug my iPad in, but works for other apple devices

I have the lastest version of iTunes and the lastest version of the iOS sytem on my iPad 2. Every time I plug my iPad in and it comes up on iTunes, my iTunes stops responding and I have a never ending rainbow wheel. This is really frustrating and only happens when I plug my iPad in. It hasn't done that when I've plugged my iPhone, my brother's iPad, my iPod touch or my friend's iPod touch. Please help me! I just want to add a movie to my iPad.

It's happening to me too. The last time I synced was on Dec. 29th 2011 (right after I moved to Puerto Rico), so I figure my moving has nothing to do with it if it synced perfectly a week ago. But now when I try to sync it, after uninstalling itunes, restarting my computer, etc., it keeps freezing on me. I'm just hoping that syncing to iCloud is actually useful...

  • My iPod playlists are deleted every time I plug my iPod into my MacBook Pro.

Every time I plug my iPod into my MacBook Pro, my iPod playlists are deleted.  I have all the sync features turned off on both the iPod and computer.  What is happening?  I hate having to remake my "Workout" playlist everytime I plug in!

Correct.  All sync features are turned off and if is 'manually manage' somewhere, I have checked the box to do so.  So basically everything is set for me to manage manually, yet my iPod playlists are still being deleted.

  • Every time i plug the phone into the computer i get a popup saying "the usb plugged in is drawing too much power".  how am i going to get the song off that old phone and into my new mac

I recently got both an iphone 5 and a macbook air.  im trying to take the songs off my old phone (iphone 4s) and get them onto my mac's itunes and then be able to sync them to my new 5.  every time i plug in the 4s into the mac, it says that the USB is drawing too much power and has to be shut off.  what should i do to recover my songs?

Are you using a usb hub or anything like that? If so, try without. Otherwise unplug everything from your mac and reboot with your iphone 4s plugged in and nothing else.
    Hope it works!

  • Why does my phone sync every time I plug my phone into my computer?

Every time I plug my phone through my computer it sync's it. I takes a long time for my phone to sync with my computer. I was wondering why this was happening all the time and why does it take so long to sync?

Because that is the way Apple made it.
Whenever your phone is connected and iTunes is open it syncs.
If for whatever reason you do not want iTunes to open and synch with the iPhone, go into iTunes and turn that feature off.

    Hey nataliexcupcakes,
If your iPhone isn't appearing under Devices in iTunes after you connect it, and it can't be restored, you'll want to follow along with this article for a resolution:

  • Can i stop iphoto launching every time i connect my iPhone?

    Hi,
Is there anyway i can stop iPhoto launching when i connect my iPhone to my Mac?
    It's driving me nuts!
I don't use it for images and have no need for iphoto to launch.
    Many thanks.

    Solved, thanks!
The image capture solution works best because i still want iPhoto to launch when i connect my camera.

  • How do I stop "Camera Window" from launching every time I plug in my iPhone

When ever I plug my iPhone into my computer to sync the application "camera window" pops up telling me there is no camera connected, then I have to click ok for the box to go away. Is there any way I can get it to stop doing this?

Have a look at this walk through... http://joe-riggs.com/blog/2009/03/disable-iphoneipod-camera-autorun-in-xp/
That is for Windows XP users, there is a link at the bottom for Vista/7 users. That should be what you are after.

  • HT2188 every time I plug the ipod into the computer itunes opens then quits unexpectedly

Every time i connect my ipod to the computer i tunes opens and then shuts down unexpectedly and almost immediately. The devise remain visible in the finder.
This is the beginning of the error message. Can some one tell me how to fix the problem?

After i-tunes quits, ipod says synching and then connected...
Your iPod is a shuffle?  A shuffle has no screen, so if iTunes is not running because it unexpectedly quit, where are you seeing the iPod say "syncing" and "connected."  Is it a nano?
If it's a nano (or an iPod with a screen), you can disregard the question about the LED "light." What appears on the screen is good (plus the Disk Utility and System Profiler results), because your iPod appears to be recognized properly by the computer.  But there may be some data corruption on the iPod's storage that is causing iTunes to crash when it tries to do the initial sync.
If you don't have a problem with erasing what is currently on the iPod (because everything is in your iTunes library you can just resync it), you can try  the following.  Put the iPod into Disk Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1363
(This assumes your iPod is not a shuffle, because there is no Disk Mode for a shuffle.)
If you can put the iPod into Disk Mode, connect it to the Mac.  I don't think iTunes will start up automatically.  Then run iTunes.  If iTunes says something about "recovery" and prompts you to do a Restore, do the Restore.  This will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.  If the cause is data corruption and is not hardware-related, the problem may be resolved.

  • ITunes launches every time I plug into the audio jack...

How do I stop this from happening? About 80% of the time when I plug in my stereo cable or headphones, iTunes just launches and starts playing. Most of the time it won't stop until I remove the audio cable.
It started when Snow Leopard first came out, and I figured they'd fix it with each subsequent software update. Wrong.
How do I just get it to STOP, besides throwing iTunes in the trash (where iTunes belongs, in my opinion, anyway). Throwing it away is not an option though, because I need iTunes to sync my mobile devices .
Would anyone know how to stop iTunes from launching whenever it **** well pleases?

Would love to see a solution for that. It is a really annoying bug.

  • Every time i plug my iphone into computer it wants to erase and sync

iphone was originally linked to my laptop... however i never transferred anything from the laptop to the iphone.  i now want to use my desktop to transfer music.  so i plug in the iphone, click the checkmark next to sync music. it says that the iphone is currently synced to another library and do i want to erase and sync?  so i erase and sync and pick the music i want and transfer it to my phone.  I unplug the phone, plug it back in again. in itunes it shows the music sync as unchecked... so i click the box to sync music and it says its associated with another library and it needs to erase and sync.
i have done this 4 times now. and everytime it wants me to erase and sync even though i just did it on the same computer with the same i phone 3 times in a row.  i don't get it, why won't itunes/iphone sync with the new itunes library on my desktop??? what can i do to fix this issue?
i'm using newest itunes 11 on windows 8.1 computer.  the computer has not been authorized... does this make a difference as to why the sync won't stick?
BTW i also hate how apple makes you sync your phone, android is so much easier to just plug the phone in and transfer your music/videos manually.  never have a problem doing that.  Only when apple tries to make it so easy it gets way more complicated than it needs to be!

    Hi joy145,
If you are having issues syncing and would like to manually manage your content, you may find the following article helpful:
Apple Support: Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535
If you are still having issues or continually prompted to erase and sync, you may want to try restoring your iPhone to factory settings before moving your data over (either via syncing or manually):
Apple Support: Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
(Note: Restoring iOS software deletes all your data and content from your device, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar info.)

  • Every time I plug my phone into my computer it starts to sync, but when I try to click on the info page, it says "Cannot sync calenders, or contacts' and then randomly crashes. Any help?

OK. So this started just, maybe 2 days ago, and I haven't done anything with it. Actually, it just started happening AFTER I updated iTunes (Silly iTunes!), which would have been 2 days ago. I really need some help!

  • Why is iPhoto automatically opening every time I plug in my phone?

Every time I plug my iPhone into my Macbook it automatically opens up iPhoto whether or not I have new photos to import, which I usually don't. It's really annoying. My husband has the same phone and his doesn't do this. Is there some way to stop it?

he iPhone includes a single Camera Roll where all photos captured by the iPhone are stored. If you save a photo from a received message or from a website, the photo is stored in the Camera Roll.
If there are photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll - even if some of the photos were previously imported by iPhoto but not deleted from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete, iPhoto will launch automatically when your iPhone is connected if you have iPhoto set to do this when any digital camera is connected.
Depending on which iPhoto version you have, iPhoto includes a preference setting for this. If you have an earlier iPhoto version that doesn't include this preference setting, the same is available via Image Capture preferences with the Image Capture application. Connecting camera opens - select No Application.
