IPhoto libraries - did I delete one of my two, or can it be recovered?

I moved my old iPhoto library to my new computer, hoping to combine the two (I want to access both on one computer, and be able to sync albums from both onto my iPad and iPhone). I relaunched iPhoto with the new library, but now I can't find the old library. It seems to have just disappeared. How can I get it back, and how can I combine the two libraries? I really have no idea.

I'm thinking the only way to get my photos from both libraries onto my iPad is to manually move them to my desktop or a USB from one library and then just drag them into the other after switching, and then sync the iPad, right?
I refuse to accept that I can't have all my photos from both computers accessible on my iPad, and that if I want them I have to pay. I'll do it by hand if I have to...

1. Don't confuse "Apple ID" with iTunes Account ID. You can have many Apple IDs but only one iTunes account active at a time.
2. If you "changed" your iTunes account ID, you actually have 2 accounts - one under the old name plus the new name.
3. You can't merge the accounts - they remain separate. Apps purcahsed under the old account name will update ONLY WHEN THE PHONE IS SIGNED IN TO THE OLD ACCOUNT NAME and visa versa.
4. Likewise, you can sync only the apps, music, media purchased under the account the phone AND iTunes are signed in to.

How can I share iPhoto libraries across more than one computer?

I am trying to find a solution for multiple users accessing a single iPhoto library.
I want to have just one "master" library for my family, which we can all access via different computers.

iPhoto has never been designed as a shared network database. What you want to do is currently not supported, Jerry, sorry.
Some things to consider - assuming you are using the most recent iPhoto version:
iPhoto '11 will not allow to have the library be opened by more than one user at a time. It will lock the iPhoto library, if it is already in use.
The iPhoto library needs to be on a disk, that is formatted MacOS X Extended (Journaled), otherwise iPhoto will not open it. Most network volumes have a different formatting.
Network access is considerably slower than the access to a locally connected drive. You will have a noticable decrease in performance when working over the network. Editing the images will be no joy, if each and every access to the databases inside the library needs a network access.
Since iPhoto is not specified as a network database, there is no built-in protection against network drop-outs and transmission errors when doing database transactions. You will be risking to corrupt your iPhoto library.
Save sharing options would be:
Let the iPhoto library be managed by one user, but give read-access to your family members using the "Sharing" preferences. You can share all albums or selected albums on your local network for browsing.
Put your iPhoto library on a portable drive and let each family member use the drive in turn.
Use shared Photo Streams to share your photos.

I had two iPhoto libraries. I erased one of them (which disappeared in the paperbasket - as planned. The otherone, however has now lost all its Keywords... Is there anything what I can do to get my keywords back????

I had two iPhoto Libraries with different content (on an external drive). I had to erase one of the libraries, and it disappeared - as planned - in the paperbasket.
The other (untouched) library, however has now lost all Keywords, and it needs quite awhile (the ball is spinning "for hours") to build up all events (order still like before the keyword desaster.
What can I do to get the keywords back?

To be more clear: All fotos had been "imported to their foto libraries" by just standard means - no shifting no erasion etc. etc. just regular Upload in one of the two iPhoto libraries by "import".

This answer seems to be pretty close to a solution - but, I need help in a step-by-step-way:
My library is located on an external LaCie hard drive - which is to the best of my knowledge not covered by Time Machine. With other words: Time Maschine is not useful here. Is there another backup procedure (possibly from within iPhoto) which I could use to rebuild the keywords from an earlier backup. That would solve 99% of my problems and is fine.
Sorry for being so helpless, but it seems to me as if you had come quite close to a solution....

Sorry; I've been away for a day or two so could not respond. I think the last post from ashlie covers your question. I don't use an iPhone so I know only basics about it. As I see that reply, you log in with the ID you dont want, then log out. Then log in with the second ID you do want and log out. That should leave you with the second ID as your ID and by never using the other one again the old ID will in effect go away.

I have bought a computer and authorised it and transfered library to it. Trouble is most of the songs have been duplicated 5 times and will take forever to delete one at a time. Can I select delete all exact duplicates in one go??

My new computer runs windows 7. I have transfered my library from my old computer to the new one but the library songs are duplicated 5 times. How do I remove the exact duplicates easily without deleting every one individually. When I am satisfied with the new computer and the itunes do I then de authorise the old one.

Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.

Safari - if you delete one page of two the wrong one comes back?

I find that, if one page opens a new page and I want to close the new page by pressing the red X then when I press it it disappears and I would expect to go back to the first page but instead the page I just deleted comes back and the original has gone away.
Does anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

I used to sync my phone on my daughter's computer, and somehow both accounts (mine and hers) got on my iPhone. When I try to download or update apps, it either asks for my password or my daughter's, and I can't update my apps anymore because I do not have the password to her account. All apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection that is tied to the iTunes that was used to download the apps. This means you have apps on your iPhone that were downloaded with your daughter's iTunes account. Apps cannot be transferred or merged with another iTunes account.
Delete the apps from your iPhone that were downloaded with your daughter's iTunes account to prevent being prompted for the account's password when there are app updates for the apps downloaded with the account. An iTunes account cannot be deleted.

IPhoto: Exported slideshow only uses one song of two, in a loop.

I am creating a slideshow with 2 songs. I went to file>export and chose Quicktime. however, it is only playing the 1st song that I have chosen. Over and over again!!! In iphoto it'll play both songs. I have both songs selected in the settings. Help please??? I've exported before where both songs would work. I compared my settings to that slideshow and I don't see anything missing.
I'm using ilife '09

I'd like to know an easy method to share iPhoto libraries across accounts on one computer. It looks like iPhoto is more or less ignoring this topic. I have searched the web for tips, found some, yet the instructions are complicated and what seemed to be the best one didn't work. Anyone in this forum that can help me?

-both users must be logged in and have iPhoto running
-Remember that you can only view the other library. You can't edit the photos or play the saved slideshows or view the made books or burn them to CD or DVD. The books and slideshows will show up as an album. You can play that album as an "on the fly" slideshow. You can drag images from the sharing library to your library in the source column to import them to your library. You can then edit, add to albums, books, slideshow, etc.

You can open the App Store app > Purchased > Not on this iPad and you will see a list of apps you own that are not installed on the iPad. I believe the newest ones are listed first.

I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.

I checked my purchased list in my purchase history under my account and there are no hidden items.
