IPhoto messed up my library when merging MobileMe galleries. How can I fix it?

I launched iPhoto, and it ran through some procedure to pull in all of my iPhoto galleries. That wasn't necessary, because they were all published from iPhoto to begin with. When it did it, though, it removed a bunch of the events I have published from my Events screen. Now they are just albums, and they don't show up in my events. Furthermore, there are some events that have no thumbnail and no photos. All I can do is delete them. How can I get my events back?

I went through each album that was pulled in from MobileMe and checked to see if:
The corresponding event still existed.
The existing event contained all of the photos (sometimes it existed but was missing some of them).
If the event didn't exist, I selected all of the photos in the album and dragged them to "Events" in the sidebar. This created a new event. I named it and fixed the keywords (deleted "from MobileMe"). If the event existed but was missing photos, I dragged those photos to Events and then merged the new event into the existing one. Then I deleted the album.
This was tedious and took a long time, but my library is now back to the way it was.

what system version are you running?
what do you mean by not working properly? Explain in detail.

where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

Library file is full..How can I fix this?

I keep getting this error: The itunes library file cannot be saved. The disk you are attempting to use is full.
How can I fix this? I bought a bunch of tv shows and none of them are showing up and I think it is because of this library file. I have moved all my itunes files to an external hard drive and still it won't let me do much of anything. Thanks for your help.

Cut and paste is not recommended, since something can go wrong midstream. It is better to copy the files to their new location on the external drive. Then, make sure they copied successfully. Then make sure they are deleted from their original location. Then empty your recycle bin.

I don't know why, but it just happened.
I bought my macbook a few months ago and only yesterday i tried to use one of the cd's that come with it. It was the applications CD, i installed what they asked me to, of course i didn't read....
i guess since then my iphoto has a forbidden symbol and it doesn't open! What do i do?

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

My old computer crashed and I imported my music to my new computer. Now iTunes won't sync the music in my library to my iPhone. How can I fix this?

I hadn't synced my iPhone yet to my new computer after buying some more music. When I went to sync, with that computer, it asked me to delete all the old music that had been from the old computer. I had been through this before with no problems so I had my phone's music wiped and was ready to resync my entire library. Everytime I try, though, it only completes the back up step, and the determing which songs to sync step, but it won't actually sync the music and just says it's done.

Your iPad is married to its now deceased old computer. This is the reason for the necessity of a backup for your computer, which your iPad is not.
Your iTunes Store and App Store purchases will not be lost. Just don't "erase and sync" when you sync your iPad to your new Mac:
If you want to move the iTunes Store purchases on your device to the new computer, choose "Transfer Purchases." The new computer must be set up with your iTunes Store account and authorized to play your iTunes Store purchases in order to transfer your iTunes Store purchases.

My Photosmart Plus printer seems to lose connectivity when in sleep mode, how can I fix this?

My new photosmart plus appears to loose it's connection when it goes to sleep. At least the printers status page online says it's not connected, even though it is visible in my router and the blue light next to the antenna of the printer is on. It also appears to be connected when I poke around in the printer's settings, but if I want to print something from an app or via e-mail I have to run the wireless wizard again, select my netgear and enter the password. Once connected I get a screen where I supposedly can skip printing a report, but that does not work either, it prints no matter what I select, waste of paper and ink.
I searched around but found no solution that would work for me.
Tech info:
wireless conection to my cable modem with Netgear router
Macbook pro and an older HP laptop are in use.
Security is WPA2-PSK [AES]
I like the machine a lot, but this is rather anoying, what can I do to keep the connection when the printer sleeps?

Does the printer not wake from sleep for both the Mac and PC?
You may want to try setting a static IP address for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. Enter the current IP address.
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Leave the gateway and DNS blank. Click 'Apply'
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

Colors not saving correctly when image is saved, how can I fix this?

Hi! I've been a photoshop user for my newish photography business since this past summer. I honestly still have a lot to learn, but thankful my images have always been spot on, until now...you see, I recently discovered that when I open my png or jpeg files (these images were saved in ps cc), the photos appear to be dull and muted. It ls like the vibrance/saturation has been shifted down and yellow tones removed or muted greatly. I even saved some fo these files on a disk and reopened them onto my computer and they still look awful. I did not change any of my settings and to be honest, I don't know which ones are the best to work with since every photog I've asked has told me something different....buuuuut beside the point...nothing has changed. My profile settings are the same and I am confused and rather frustrated. If you know how to fix this issue, please share with me because I am at a loss.
How I edit photos:
Import into lightroom
Edit with preset
Export with preset into PS CC
Do finishing touched
Save as jpeg
Here is a screen shot from my computer. The photo on the right is the saved photo and the left is the photoshop photo. If you can tell, the photo on the left is dull and appears to be very flat. It also does not have the golden undertones that the ps cc photo has, which is what I want...

What color space are you working the images in? The Info panel and the little status box at the lower-left of the editing canvas can be set to show you your current color profile. I set the Info panel to show me the profile myself.
When you do File - Save As to save the JPEG, are you saving the color profile with the JPEG?
Lastly, when you say "the photos appear to be dull and muted", how are you comparing them (specifically)? Are you sure the application you're using to compare them with what you see in Photoshop is color-managed?
I suspect what may be happening is that you're editing your photos using a wide gamut color space, then either saving the JPEG work product without a color profile or viewing it in an application that does not support color-management.
Regarding someone telling you the best settings to use... The thing is, it's not really possible to suggest specific settings without knowing a lot more about your particular working environment. We don't know, for example, whether the printing process you're using will properly interpret the color profile. You should regard with suspicion any advice that suggests "set it and forget it" settings without trying to understand your color-management needs.

Playbook shuts down after a few mintutes when streaming Video.. how can I fix this?

Hi There, new to this forum as I just purchased the Playbook 32GB. I really like this tablet and bought the micro HDMI cable so I could hook it up to my 1080p TV. Anyway, we're streaming video on the browser and after a few mintutes the Playbook screen starts to flicker and then turns black and disconnects from my wi-fi connection.
This is quite frustrating as we like the idea of streaming movies and dramas off the tablet to our TV and being able to enjoy it witout the tablet shutting down. I understand the shut down mode is to conserve the battery's power, but this even happens when the unit is plugged in. I understand this also happens when you download things for more than 5 mintutes as well as listen to music for longer then 5 mintutes the Playbook auto shutdowns.
Can this be resolved with an ap or software upgrade provided by BlackBerry? Any suggestions on how to fix this is much appreciated!

Firefox hangs when javascript is enabled; how can I fix this?

I've recently had issues with Firefox hanging when visiting many webpages. With javascripts disabled it does not crash.
Things I have tried:
Refreshing Firefox
Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox
Using safe mode (did not help, still hangs)
Updating plugins (all were up-to-date)
Interestingly, the same thing happens with the same pages using Safari, but I'm not sure what this means.

I understand that Firefxo is hanging even though you have updated. There was another security release for Flash today as they are addressing some major security issues this week.
I would recommend changing your Flash plugin to a click to play status. Go into about:plugins and click "Always Ask to Activate" for your flash player.

TS3274 My iPad will not charge when plugged in. How can I fix this?

Have you tried a reset to see if it charges (and syncs) after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
