IPhoto missing after installation

I just installed from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion and now iPhoto is missing along with all my photos.  I have photos on another device however I don't seem to have the iPhoto app anymore.  How do I get it back?

Nevermind. Disregard my previous post. I ended up calling Apple Support, and although they couldn't figure out why I didn't have all the component software to iLife after upgrading to Mountain Lion from Lion, they did say to reinstall it (missing software) from the Application Install DVD that came with my Mac (didn't even know I had that, and luckily found it). So now I have all the missing software back on my Mac.
So you upgraded to 10.7 from 10.6, to 10.8 from 10.7
Good to know the 10.6 disk still works to install iLife. Thanks

how do i bring back the i life applications which disappeaared after installation of mac osx 10.8 and doesnt accepted on the appsotre( cost money)

You bring back iLife in one of two ways:
    1.  Open the App Store, click on "Purchases".  If you find GarageBand, iMovie and iPhoto there, you can click "Download".  I think you tried to say above they are not there, but I'm just making sure.
    2.  Use your iLife '09 CD to reload the applications, then do a "Software Update".

  • IPhoto missing after reinstalling leopard

After reinstalling Leopard on my new macBook, iPhoto is missing from the Applications. Has anyone any ideas how to solve this? I can't find the individual install for iPhoto either on the install disks.
    Thanks

so I'm buying my own copy of Leopard
    Why?
Because the copy of Leopard she has is unlicensed if she doesn't have the install disc.
Do I have to erase the installed one before I install my new copy?
If 10.5 is working why are you going to re-install?
Well, security for one. I would never, never, never use a pre-owned Mac without completely erasing and reinstalling everything from scratch. Who knows what hacks, security holes, pirated software, or other junk may have been left on it by its previous owner. We already know that the seller included a stolen copy of Leopard. Maya would be doing everything right by buying a fresh copy of Leopard and reinstalling.
And if iphoto is going to be missing, could I install it from the Tiger disk that came with my desktop?
System Restore Disks are particular to the model they come with. Also, it's a breach of the licence.
That's wrong. Software on a system restore disc may be transferred to a different Mac as long as the software is no longer installed on the first Mac. And while some have reported difficulty getting OS X to install on a different model, I think it's likely that the iLife apps will work.
If Maya has no system restore CDs for her iBook at all, she should contact the seller and demand them. If the seller told Maya that Leopard or any other Apple software is included, and then included no install discs, the seller defrauded Maya.

  • JMS-&DB Adapter are missing after Installation SOA 10.1.3 W2K with XE

I've observed that the JMS/DB adapter are missing under %OH%/j2ee/oc4j_soa/connectors and %OH%/j2ee/oc4j_soa/application-deployments/default. The installer produces errors for both with java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file
Checked Dbadapter.rar and JMSadapter.rar under %OH%/bpel/system/services/lib, they are empty. I have downloaded the Windows version from otn soa101310_win32_060807.0728.zip (565 MB (593,247,278 bytes)). Could you please advise?
    Thanks

    Hi Clemens,
I'm missing the adapters also. I did a 1st time, advanced installation of the 10.1.3.1 prod. release SOA Suite on suse linux. The installed adapter in both OC4J:home/default and OC4J:soa/default are:
    * jmsrouter_ejb
    * defaultWebApp
    * jmsrouter_web
    * OracleASjms
On a previous standard (with olite) install of the same SOA Suite version on Windows a got more (all?) adapters.
How can I fix the problem on the linux box?
    Kind regards,
    H
I dug a little further into the problem by roaming through the installation log files.
According the logfile the Deployment manager, whatever that may be is not running!?
    logfile:
    Result: 150
    Running batch script by:
    java admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:opmn://asterix.harminge:6003/home -script /ora01/soaSuite_10.1.3.1/integration/esb/install/ant-tasks/esb_deployadapters.txt
Failed at "Could not get DeploymentManager".
This is typically the result of an invalid deployer URI format being supplied, the target server not being in a started state or incorrect authentication details being supplied.
Is it possible to rerun the "esb_deployadapter.txt" after the installation/configuration is complete?

  • IPhoto missing after clean install of 10.6.3

I have an iMac 27" that came with intallation discs.
I had major problems with DVDSP (mostly related to either ProKit 6 or any of the 10.6.x updates)
After a clean install of 10.6.3 (and staying out of ProKit 6) my system now works fine.
I do have the 10.6.3 retail disc, as well as 10.6 retail disc (that does not work as install disc for my iMac).
But - iPhoto is missing. And for the moment I can't get hold of my original install discs for my iMac.
Is there any way of installing iPhoto anyway? I'd like to backup photos and movies on my iPhone.
My iMac identifies itself as an iMac 11,1 with SMC version 1.54f36
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you don't have the install disk then you're only option is to purchase it. The iLife apps are not pat of the OS so they are not on the 10.6 disks, only on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac.
Purchasing options are an iLife disk or upgrade 10.6 to a point where you can use the App Store.
Is there any way of installing iPhoto anyway? I'd like to backup photos and movies on my iPhone.
You don't need iPhoto for that. Check out Image Capture (in your Applications Folder)

  • Flash is missing after installation.

I'm on a Mac 10.5.8 running Safari 5.0.6. After the incremental update to 10.5.8 the installed version of Flash no longer worked. I've attempted to install the new version three times. The download and installation seem straightforward, it says it's installed, but all websites say I don't have it, I and cannot find Flash Player on my HD. (I've run uninstallers twice between attempts at installation, and the installers are on the HD.) Flash does appear in my system prefs, and says that v. 10.3.183.23 is installed, but the Adobe website page that has a box to show your installed version is empty - there's not even an error message.
I've been through the instructions and the troubleshooting three times with the same result, and the Adobe and other fora twice without finding a similar problem. I'm usually good at doing my own troubleshooting, but this has me stymied. I hope I'm just overlooking something obvious. Suggestions, please?

    Sunil,
I uninstalled, and then installed again, per instructions.
The Internet Plug-ins appeared in the folder, and the Flash PrefPane now says that v. 10.3.183.23 is installed.
But the websites don't recognize it, it doesn't appear in my Apps folder, and the FP Find Version page shows an empty box.
I noticed that the uninstall instructions include a step to manually delete the following:
    \Library\Internet Plug-Ins\Flash Player.plugin\
    Library\Internet Plug-Ins\flashplayer.xpt
    ~\Library\Preferences\Macromedia\Flash Player\
    ~\Library\Caches\Adobe\Flash Player\
I deleted the first two, but the second two did not exist in the Prefs and Caches folders, and they did not appear after the install. Should they have, or are those from older versions?
    Thanks,
    Anna

  • Olap script is missing after installation

    Hello all,
We have Oracle 9.2.0.6 Enterprise Edition running on our Solaris8 server. Through our developers' request, I have installed 9.2.0.1 OLAP option on the database by choosing the Custom installation option and "Oracle OLAP" checkbox. After the installation, I patched it to 9.2.0.6 . However, I cannot find the "olap" script in its place, which is supposed to reside in /etc/init.d . Therefore cannot start the environment and so on.
I have also read the Metalink note 208335.1 but don't think I have done anything much different than it.
What might be wrong with the installation, has anyone ever experienced anything similar?
    Kind Regards

    nothing about /etc/init.d
I copied this from Note:177205.1 for you:
    ==========================================================
MANUAL INSTALLATION OF OLAP SERVICES DATABASE OBJECTS
Alternatively, you may install OLAP Services database objects manually by
    running scripts, as follows:
First of all, you must already have installed Oracle JVM
objects. For instructions on how to do this manually, please see:
Note 149393.1 What scripts are needed to manually install Oracle9i JVM (9.0.1)
After performing the above, you will need to run the olap.sql script
while connected as SYSDBA, from SQL*plus :
    1) First go to the olap/admin directory under the Oracle Home
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/olap/admin
    2) Run SQL*Plus and connect as sysdba:
    sqlplus /nolog
    SQLPLUS> connect / as sysdba
    3) Run the oneinstl.sql and olap.sql scripts:
    a) Refer to Note 208335.1 for running oneinstl.sql. Although it is written
for 9.2.0.1, the same applies for 9.0.1.
    b) Use the following for running olap.sql.
You will need to provide the SID as a parameter to the script.
    SQLPLUS> spool olap.log
    SQLPLUS> @olap CWMLITE TEMP
    SQLPLUS> spool off
    SQLPLUS> exit
Review the olap.log spool file, there should be no errors.
    4) You must verify that the OLAP Services folder /etc/OLAPServer has
been successfully created in the Oracle JVM. You may have to create
    it manually on Windows NT.
Note 157822.1 contains instructions for this.

  • Execute permission for everyone missing after installation on Mac OS

    Hi,
I installed JDeveloper on Mac OSx and recognized, that execute permission was missing for everyone on some directories under the middleware directory and on the JDeveloper executable in the application package: JDeveloper.app/Contents/MacOS/JDeveloper. So I could start JDeveloper only as administrator but not as normal user. Perhaps you could add this to the additional steps required for a Mac OS installation in the release notes.
    Best regards Thomas

A user deleting a NECESSARY OS file is NOT (repeat: NOT) an Adobe problem. I've seen about a hundred people post in the Apple Forums this week that they did the EXACT same thing: deleted the Mach Kernel file, and it screwed up their entire OS. Apple f'ed up their 10.8.5 update to allow it to be visible, but that doesn't place ANY burden on anyone here.
Kinda reminds me of my earliest days at AOL when people would call in because they deleted "rundll32" from their Windows 98 and then couldn't reboot.
I hope everyone has learned, "If you DON'T KNOW what it does, leave it alone till you've researched it"

  • ILife Apps - iPhoto missing after Hard drive wipe.

I have a MacBook Pro Spring 2010. When I bought it, I had all of the iLife apps preinstalled. When OS X Mavericks came out, I upgraded. I ran out of space, so I wiped the hard drive after backing up my important files to a hardrive. To get my iLife apps back, I used the CD, i got them all back except iPhoto. How do I get iPhoto back?

Run the software update to upgrade to  the latest compatible version for Mavericks.
    Apple Menu()>Software Update>iPhoto
It keeps old and new versions in your App folder.  So drag the new icon down to the Dock if need be.

  • Iphoto missing after crash

My 15" MBP Retina SSD crashed and I had to go to the Apple Store to restore my system.  I originally had iPhoto, "Microsoft Word", "Excel", and Numbers installed on my system.  After restoring my system, I no longer had these programs.
In the App Store, absolutely nothing is listed in my purchases.  I also don't have install discs because the Retina was not designed with a disc drive.
Does anyone have any suggestions as what I need to do to retrieve the software that I paid for already?

You have to logon to the mac app store with the same apple id you used before and that the retina is registered to.
Not sure if the microsoft software, office for mac is on the mac app store. If it isn't then you will need to find the ms site to download them and hopefully you have a record of the activation code number.

  • MAS shortcut missing after installation

    Hi All,
On our Mobile development workbench,  we don't see any shortcut for MAS. However, there are shortcuts to MSA, AMT, and MSY.
    We have following questions:
How can we find out that the MAS is installed properly or not?
If MAS is installed properly, how to start MAS?
    Please advise.
Mobile components installed are of version 5.0 and SP 04.
We also installed the following software as they are prerequisite for MDW.
    OS : Windows XP Professional
    IE 7.0
    Microsoft SQL server 2000
    Microsoft SQL server 2005
    Java SDK 1.4.2_09
    Microsoft Visual studio 2005
    MS office 2007
Please let us know if we missed anything.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
currently I don't have access to a MSA environment but I guess that the .NET studio can be started from start menue -> programs -> ... .
As I might remember you need to select/open a "Mobile Laptop Solution" when starting the studio.
By the way: I remember that studio 2005 is not supported for 5.0 SP4 (only studio 2003), please check the install guide.

  • Fonts still missing after installation?

I have a few files that I received to work on that came from a third party company that created them originally.  When opened Illustrator gave the message that several fonts were missing.  I purchased the missing fonts (or so I thought), installed them and the message still shows up.
    These are the missing fonts:
    AvantGardeITCbyBT-BookCondensed:
    AvantGardeITCbyBT-BoldCondensed:
    Futura-ExtraBoldOblique-DTC
I purchased the equivalent fonts from the Adobe store, but I could be wrong.  Does any one know exactly which fonts are comparable?
    Thanks for any assistance.

Use Type > Find font to replace them.
Maybe the file was created on a different system, then font mapping tends to be a problem.
