Iphoto mobileme vs. icloud

New Macbook pro have the latest version of iphoto but it has online file sharing with MobileMe and not icloud. My new ipad has iphoto and it has projects and photo sharing via icloud. Does anyone know how to get the version for the macbook pro that has projects and icould publishing/sharing. I have checked for updates via the app store and downloaded the latest update 9.2.2 but get messages saying this version can only be updated via the app store. I have deleted the app and re downloaded from the app the store yet the version is still the same and mobile me is the sharing option.
Let me know if anyone has or solution or a similar problem. New to Mac need all the help I can get. Thank you D

I just bought a MBP 8,1 to upgrade from my MacBook 4,1 (white). I'd like to know what the best way is to migrate my files & stuff. How well does the Migration Assistant work? My main concern is with Mail, Calendar, Address Book, iPhoto, iMovie, and of course, iTunes, but the major challenge is that I have mobileMe account set up on my old MB and now I will need to migrate that to iCloud. Does the Migration Assistant take care of the migration to Migration?
By the way, I have Snow Leopard on my old MB.
Any feedback will be much appreciated!

Use Setup Assistant when your new Mac first starts up. See Using Setup Assistant on Lion for details.

No, that's separate. I'd recommend waiting for a bit after running Setup Assistant, to be sure everything got transferred properly, and you've gotten a bit used to the differences in Lion (see Changes in Lion from Snow Leopard.)
Once you're comfy with that, when you go to System Preferences, you'll see a new icon for iCloud:
Both the iCloud and MobileMe windows have buttons to convert MobileMe to iCloud.

What exactly is the correct procedure on how to download photos and files from MobileMe (to iCloud)?
Does this mean something needs to be done with iPhoto files? or is it automatic once you sign on to iCloud? (usually the Mac directions are so clear...I am not sure what is going on here at all)
Additionally, if iPhoto files vary on multiple devices, how do ya be sure all photos are saved/downloaded or whatever?

As I mentioned in your other post, you cannot upload photos to iCloud. You will need to find somewhere else to put them.

That's not an Apple ID. That is your admin account which you can view in System Preferencs > Accounts or Users & Groups.

Just use your current Apple ID when you setup your iCloud account that you use for your devices.

Well, seems I managed to unscrew this...I deleted my iCloud mail account and reinstalled it on my phone. That got rid of the duplicate .me/.mac email accounts.

I want to have all of my pictures taken in iPhoto automatically uploaded to iCloud, so I can see them on my iMac desktop. Just talking about syncing automatically. I have an iCloud account on the desktop already but don't have the iPhoto app on my iCloud list of apps yet. How do I add it, and will the syncing automatically begin then?

For Photo Stream to work on your iMac, you must have iPhoto 11.

I would like to have my calendar, contacts, etc.. all sync like they do now. Is there a way to upgrade before June 30th? If not, will the gap be an issue or will I just be able to buy mountain lion and sync everything?

You can buy Lion in the App Store now, but move to iCloud now. If you wait to Mountain Lion, you will only have Mail in Snow Leopard, so you will lose syncing unless you use Lion or Mountain Lion. It's up to you

You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Mavericks. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data before upgrading. Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

Can i sync my iPhoto Events to iCloud Photo Library (Beta)?
After I activate "iCloud Photo Library (Beta) on my iPhone and iPad, my PhotoStream pictures upload to that service, but i have lots of Album Events (PhotoStream months events, personal events, video events, etc) on my iPhoto and don't upload to iCloud Photo Library.
How can I automatic sync that with iCloud?

Airport Extreme no longer recognizes MobileMe after iCloud

After updating my MobileMe to iCloud this weekend I noticed my Airport Extreme was blinking orange. It returned an error that said my MobileMe password was incorrect. I have 'Back to My Mac' enabled under iCloud but apparently it's not compatible with the current Airport software.
One thing I don't know is whether Back to My Mac will work under iCloud without the Apple ID being input into the Airport; I don't have another computer running Lion/iCloud at another location so I can't test it out. Does anyone else know if it still works correctly?

If you are referring to Back to My Mac as it pertains to the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS), then no, this feature is not supported if you migrated your MobileMe account to iCloud.

IPhoto remove all iCloud pictures and reload form iCloud when I opened via Aperture

I have almost 100GB iCloud pictures & moves.
When I open a Aperture library via iPhoto, every time iPhoto remove all iCloud pictures, and let me enable iCloud photo again.
So I must still wait iPhoto finish download all iCloud pictures again.
It looks iPhoto's iCloud is different than Aperture iCloud even it is same library.
And enable iCloud picture in Aperture looks can't use iCloud information in iPhoto if you don't do re-enable in iPhoto,
Final each re-enable will remove all iCloud picture & download all again in local PC cache.
Is this I did something mistake?

Firstly, I note that your profile states that you are using OS X 10.5.8, in order to use iCloud on your computer you need OS X 10.7.2 or better.
Secondly, I have asked for your email address to be edited out. Post your address in an open thread is a sure way to be bombarded by unwanted email, remember it will be here long after you have resolved your problem, for automated detection software to find.
If you want people to contact you, enable others to see your email address in your profile.
Finally, are you sure that these additional addresses are aliases and not sub accounts on a family pack, aliases from MobileMe should transfer to an iCloud when you migrate.
