Iphoto needs aperture update (I dont have aperture)

Today I went to open iPhoto, and it says
"To open this Aperture Library in iPhoto, you need Aperture 3.3 or later"
The only thing is I don't have aperture, nor do I recall ever installing it in the past.
I tried holding down command/option to reconfigure the library, but I still get the above message.

A tray loading iMac can not use Firmware 4.1.9.
A slot loading iMac needs Firmware 1.2. To install that, you need a version of Mac OS 8 installed.

O also installed lion before and as i had filevault activated y lost my user information in timemachine. So, i have a useless backup. I only have events in iPhone ( due i didnt sync photos) and in MobileMe gallery, and i already migrate to iCloud. So?

I should have mentioned that I have signed out of the iCloud Control Panel several times and no syncing occurs.

Iphoto needs to update, but it says no update available

I need to update iphoto to use it on icloud, but its not letting me update it eventhough it needs to be updated.

Note 1: every day more users are reporting problems with iPhoto 8.1.2 so I've included it in the non compatible category.
Note 2: If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1application on the library before opening it with iPhoto9.5.1.

Need help restoring itouch - dont have passcode or original PC

Hello folks -
My father in law just gave me his old itouch to me. It had been collecting dust for more than a year now.
I would like to begin using the itouch, but I am unable to access it on my PC. I don't know the passcode for the itouch, and the original PC that the itouch was synced to is long gone.
I have tried to restore the itouch, but nothing seems to work.
What do I need to do to begin using the itouch.

Connect in recovery mode and restore, you'll get the option to rest the passcode during this process:

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

Look in your Applications folder for iPhoto and then drag it to the Dock to make a new "shortcut" or "alias" the original file returns to the Applications folder.
If you drop it on the desktop, first put it back in the Applications folder and then try again.
If iPhoto is not in your Applications folder and it's a new machine you just purchased or got used, you can log into AppStore and accept a free copy of iLife for that machine, if used, then you have to purchase it. If you did purchase it, then redownload it again.

The system seems to have assumed I have Aperture 3 - I dont have any version of same. I am just trying to sneak in via a minimal approach to be able to process Raw files from Sony RX100 only. My main photo gear is Nikon but the little Sony is a gem, & I cant find a way yet, short of getting a new macbook pro. I'd rather get a new lens.

But you need to upgrade at least to MacOS X 10.8.5.
Do you have a current version of iPhoto? Aperture is not necessary to use the raw support, but it has more features to fine-tune the raw developement.

I have an Iphone OS 4.3.3 and need to update. I have not done so since the first Itunes library used to setup my phone was done on a friend's computer and is not longer available for me. Loading to a different library requires me to erase the contents before updating. I have already come to terms with the disappointing reality of losing my media, however, will my text message history, phone contacts/numbers, notes saved in the basic built-in notes app or ANYTHING else be effected or wiped during this process? Does the backup function secure this data even though I'm using a different Library?
Hoping there's anyone with a promising answer to this concern.
