IPhoto not creating monthly Photo Stream Events

Up until last month, all photos that were brought into iPhoto via Photo Stream were being added to a (seemingly) automatically created monthly event of Photo Stream images.  It seems to have stopped doing this and I was wondering if there was a way to reinitiate this.
I think what may have caused this to happen was that I renamed one of these monthly events (Apr 2012 Photo Stream) to something generic like "Spring" and added additional (non Photo Stream pictures) to it.  Now, all new Photo Stream photos are dumped into this "Spring" event and I can't get iPhoto to create a new May 2012 Photo Stream event and dump all new photos imported into Photo Stream into it.
I've tried renaming "Spring" to Apr 2012 Photo Stream and adding a "May 2012 Photo Stream" but to no avail.  It keeps wanting to add photos automatically to what I believe was the original "Apr 2012 Photo Stream" that has since been changed.
Any thoughts/suggestions?  Thanks.

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
If it doesn't and you are able to download successfully into the new library then your existing library needs repairs: apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost and converted to albums. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Iphoto not showing imported photos in events

I have been using iphoto for quite a while with very few problems.  Recently I have added an iPhone and an apple TV into my apple ecosystem.  I have recently noticed that my iphoto library is NOT showing photos imported from 3rd party sources such as my android phone, in the events section of the interface.  The photos ARE present in the 'photos' section which leads me to believe that they are IN the library.  But when i look at the events and select one say for 3/24 it will only display the photos taken from my wifes iphone and NOT the ones taken from my andriod and imported using the add to library function.  I have attempted all four options in the command-option iphoto startup and have gotten no where.
Many of you might that that this is a non issue as the photos are present in the 'photo' section.  but as i prefer to use the fullscreen mode in iphoto i do not have access to the 'photos' tab in full screen, only the 'events'.
could my appletv or iPhone or appletv be a contributing factor?  Is there an option in events to only display iPhone imported photos?
Any help would be appricaited I am pulling my hair out here.

1 - Photos and events are simply two different views of the same photos - your iPhoto library - so any photo that is in one is always also in the other - you are just looking in the wrong place
2 - the most common issue is incorrect dates on photos so you look in the wrong location for the event - in the photos view right click on one of the photos that you are not seeing in an event and show event
3 - another possiblity is the sort order of the events - verify it under the view menu ==> sort events
4 - No - it is not your Apple TV nor is it your iPhone

  • Some pictures not synching on photo stream

I'm having a problem witht the photo stream. For some reason, of the 25 or so photos I have taken on my iphone, a few do not get synched to the Photo Stream. I've tried resetting PS (ie turning it off and then back on again) but the same few pictures keep getting left out. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Update: I dragged one of the photos that hadn't imported to one of my Photo Albums in iPhoto on my Mac. When I do this, the photo appears in the album, but when I select Show Event, it takes me to that monthly Photo Stream event but the photo isn't there. It's almost like these photos are hidden within the event the Photo Stream generates per month, but that event lists no hidden photos. I'm not even sure how I could get these photos in my library manually in a place that I could find them in the future!

  • IPhoto not syncing to photos app on iPhone

I'm trying to see my shared photo folders from iPhoto on my iPhone 6 using the photos app but under sharing, the iPhoto shared photos don't show up under Shared. I've made sure I'm using the same account on all devices and Mac and enabled sharing. What gives?

Ok, in iPhoto I created a photo stream called My Cruise which I shared with those on the cruise. They can see those photos.
In the Photo app on my iPad, using the Photo App, I can see the photos. On my iPhone, however, they're not showing up. This is on my phone. When I look on my iPad, I can see all my shared albums.
I even turned off Sharing and turned it back on and nothing shows up. I'm using wifi if that even matters.

  • How do I create a slide show in iPhoto from an iCloud photo stream

ow do I create a slide show in iPhoto from an iCloud photo stream?

Do you mean from a Shared Stream or My Photo Stream?
In iPhoto on your iPhone, iPad you create slideshow projects by selecting photos and then sharing them as a new slideshow. http://help.apple.com/iphoto/iphone/2.0/?handbuch#blnkbc26e276
You can publish your slideshow in iCloud:  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2333
In iPhoto on your Mac you can make an instant slideshow by selecting the photos in the photo stream and pressing the slideshow button, see: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2333

  • When I create a photo stream in ios6, everyone who is logged in to my iCloud account can see and edit my stream (on their iPhones only). Not just the email addressees that I sent the photo stream link to. Is that how photo stream security is meant to work

When I create a photo stream in ios6, everyone who is logged in to my iCloud account can see and edit my stream (on their iPhones only). Not just the email addressees that I sent the photo stream link to. Is that how photo stream security is meant to work? Is so it means my whole family can see any photo stream I set up. Hence no security? Can't share the pics with the wife then :(

The whole idea to an icloud account is that one user uses it and has all their devices synced together.  Different users need different Apple IDs to create their own icloud accounts.  Note that everyone can still use the same ID for an iTunes account (to share purchases).

  • Can i create a photo stream using iPhoto 8.1.2

Can i create a photo stream using iPhoto 8.1.2?  or is there any other way to create one besides a later version of iPhoto?

iPhoto 9.2.2 or better is required for photo stream.

  • IPhoto 9.4.2, photo stream-add subscriber?

    Hello
I cannot figure out how to create a list of subscribers to share my Photo Stream pics.
I succeeded in adding photos and have a Photo Stream icon in the Source panel, which shows my chosen photos, but not what? How do I notify someone or add a subscriber?
IPhoto 9.4.2, on Mac Pro with Lion.
Sys Prefs > iCloud, checked Photo Stream
In iPhoto prefs > turned on Photo Streaming.
Dragged some photos from an Event into Photo Streaming icon on left.
After a while, it finished (uploading? syncing?).
Clicked on Photo Streaming and I see the pictures.
Now trying to "Add a Subscriber."
Clicked on Share in lower right corner----pop up menu shows Photo Stream among other options (order prints, Flickr, Facebook, Email)
    Clicked on Photo Stream
Window opens saying "all the selected photos are already in your photo stream."
I know that but how do I choose people to share them with??
Went up to Share in iPhoto main menu and Photo Stream is greyed out.
I read whatever I could find, in Apple Help, iPhoto, elsewhere on the web.
Tried to find answers but either the instructions read as though I want to change subscribers, or provide step by step, where one of the steps just is not an option I see of can find.
Anyone, please, unravel this mystery for me? Thanks

    Thank you LarryHN.
While I do have an iPad Mini with v6.1.3, my MBP is only in Lion (and my Mac Pro in Snow Leopard). Oddly, until your post I could not find anything about Mt Lion being a requirement.
I followed the link you provided. More help but also more confusion.
There's this persistent presumption that key steps, detailed-specific steps, are or will be "understood." Like for example, letting someone know I have put a group of photos into Photo Stream, for their viewing. Adding subscribers keeps getting me info on modifying subscribers, not the step-by-step instructions for isolating a set of pictures, putting them into a so-called photo stream, or album, then making that available to them AND letting them know it. This morning I got as far as choosing some pics on my iPad and putting them into Photo Stream (or were they already there?) Then creating a PS or Album from a subset of those pics, giving it a name, choosing a person from my contacts....then what? I click Done. Then what is supposed to happen? Once again, this presumption of knowing or maybe it's a presumption that most people won't care to know how it is working and be done with it, after clicking done.
As a test I did this using one friend, and also using myself (using a email address other than my Apple address.)
I later opened my MBP, tried Mail to see if I got notified (nope) then opened iPhoto and looked to see if it was there. But I can't really tell. What I mean is, I do see pictures when I select Photo Stream, but there are more here than in the test-to-myself PS I set up and (sent?) from my iPad. Is this because the MBP is in Lion, not Mt. Lion? Or because, although I am the same person sending and receiving, I am using two differenrt email addresses (therefore am limited to PS only and not Shared PS?
I don't know. This is just way too murky and non-intuitive. I appreciate your reply but don't want to take up any more of your time. So I suppose I'm just whining and ranting at this point. Thanks anyway.

  • How do I get photos in a specific iPhoto Album into my Photo Stream?

How do I get photos in a specific iPhoto album into My Photo Stream so that I can use my Apple TV to show them in a slideshow on my TV?

That is not possible - PhotoStream has no organizational capability - no albums or other organization
With the correct software versions You can import from PS into an iPhoto event on your Mac either automatically (by setting the iPhoto preference to do that) or manually and then you can add the photos ot an iPhoto album and sync to Apple TV
what version of iPhoto do you have? Is OS X 10.7.5 correct for your OS?

  • Monthly Photo Stream project in iCloud Photos?

    Hi,
As in Aperture, which gives me a monthly summary for each months Photo Stream and makes it a project, does Photos have the same functionality?

If you are asking about the not yet released Photos application and not iPhoto, no one can discuss it in this forum since discussing beta software here isn't allowed.

  • Can't create new photo streams in Aperture

When I select new photos to add to a photo stream, I am not prompted to create a new photo stream, they are simply sent to the stock photo stream that is already shared between my iPhone and Aperture. How can I create new photo streams in Aperture if the standard method doesn't work for me? What is wrong with my setup that I can't follow the videos of instructions because I don't get a dialog box when I try to share?
    Thanks,
    Will

Is your Profile signature correct  Mac OS X (10.7.5) ? Then you cannot create Shared Photo Streams. They require OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 and Aperture 3.4, see:
Using and troubleshooting shared photo streams.
You can create Shared Photo Streams with:
an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iOS 6
a Mac using OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 with Photo 9.4 or later or Aperture 3.4 or later
a PC using Windows 8, Windows 7, or Vista with the iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later installed. (iCloud Control Panel 2.1 required with Windows 8.)
If your system is compatible with shared streams, check, if you have enabled shared streams in both the System Preferences and Aperture's Preferences.

  • Why does iphoto not copy all photos when transfering

    Hi peeps.
why does iPhoto not copy all photos from an event when im copy/pasting to an external folder on my mac(for later transfer). All softwares are up to date and ive only just realised it happens, but when i copy all pics in an event then paste in a folder, the pic count is substantially different. for example i select all pictures in an event called 'new1', the count of files is 188. i then copy/ paste to a folder,  select all files and check 'info' and it says 141 files???
all i can see painstakingly going through to compare which images are in each place is that the ones that arent in my new folder , seem to be the ones ive edited in iPhoto??  conincidence? or am I missing something fundamental here?  Ive only just realised this is occuring. The trouble is, after moving images to folders/hard drives I  subsequently delete them from iphoto to keep my macbook airs HDD with some space.  So basically all of the versions of pictures I want, i.e, the new edited and adjusted versions are no longer! NOT HANDY!
      help please.

We've seen a few reports of this in the past while and no one is sure of the cause.
Use the File -> Export command. See this User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
for details of the options the Export Dialogue offers.

The trouble is, after moving images to folders/hard drives I  subsequently delete them from iphoto to keep my macbook airs HDD with some space.
means you are losing quality, metadata and the version of control. If you don't want these why use iPhoto at all?
You could just move the whole Library to an external:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • How Come, after updating to ios 6 iPhoto no longer supports photo streaming What happened?

How Come, after updating to ios 6 iPhoto no longer supports photo streaming? What happened?

You probably just need to re-enable Photo Stream. It's not clear what the difference is, but there is an option to enable Photo Stream (as well as Shared Photo Stream) in both the iCloud Settings and the Photos & Camera Settings.
