IPhoto not "installing" after updating to Yosemite

I have just updated to Yosemite.
My old iPhoto won't work.
I try to download the latest version of iPhoto, which says is downloading, but when the download ends it never installs.
Correction - the "Instal" doesn't complete.
The site just says "Installing" but it never completes.

Here's the deal....First I backed up my iPhoto Library; downloaded the iPhoto Updater 4 times; each try it popped up on my desktop within seconds and
did its thing; I continued to click on iPhoto in the dock and application folder and was lost in that loop.
FINALLY I searched "This Mac" for iPhoto and hidden amongst the gems was the app "iPhoto LIbrary Upgrader."
I'll be ****...
Click, open, update, upgrade and up my #%@
It worked like Apple said it would.
Good luck and good night.

  • Netflix Streaming on MacMini does not work after update to Yosemite

Netflix videos will no longer stream :
I am using a MacMini (late 2012) with an HP w2207h display.  Intel processor 2.5 GHz Core !5  Intel  HD Graphics 4000 1024 MG  After updating to Yosemite, 10.10.1, I cannot stream videos from the Netflix site.
All of the monitor specs. would indicate that streaming videos in HDCP would be possible.  Everything streamed very well until approximately 4 days ago.
I have changed the display resolution to 1080p.  I have disconnected the monitor and reconnected it several times.  I have updated iTunes as well as Yosemite.

Have you went to NetFlix's support site?

  • IPhoto Not Installed After Snow Update

Ok let me get all the questions out of the way.
    - I installed family pack Snow on both my MBP & wifes MBP
    - My MBP works great, all that is advertised
    - The other MBP is running just the same, except it’s missing iPhoto
Yes that’s right iPhoto is not installed on this Mac. I’ve checked everywhere, I’ve even done a check disk, searched the web far and wide without anything coming back explaining why it’s not on there.
If anyone has an idea as to why iPhoto 09 is not installed please let me know.
    Thanks ahead of time.

Thanks Larry, to answer your question no I did not delete it.
Quick history….. I bought this specific MBP with Tiger on it two days after Leopard was released. Called Apple they sent me a Leopard upgrade disc for free to install. Just recently I found out that the Hardrive in the MBP was failing causing issues (1yr of use), so I bought a new one replaced that. Instead of installing Tiger, then Leopard, then Snow, I worked around that by installing Leopard then Snow.
Is iLife (the full install) on the original Tiger disc that came with the MBP? How the poo do I install it now with Snow installed? Can I call Apple and see if they could send me an iLife 09 disc? Could this be why iPhoto is not appearing on my MBP?

iPhoto is missing part of the substructure it needs to run. You need to reinstall.
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • App do not install after update iOS 5.01

After updating to iOS 5.01 only a few of my 137 App do synchronize. iTunes error message: Could not find the file for ...app (translated from German). Also reinstall out of a backup did not help. The same problem.
The apps are organized in folders. If I check the missing apps in iTunes to synchronize, the were not put in the original folders.
I do also have iCould Backup but I suppose that this does not help becaue meanwhile the backup was made automatically.
    Can anyone help?
    Stefan

I could solve the problem: the Apps are stored in "MyMusic/iTunes/<Username>/Mobile Applications". But some of my Apps were stored in a folder within iTunes Media. Just copied those back to there original location and sync worked.
I do not know, why I had a second folder. I think the error message from iTunes is not very helpful and all is very intransparent.

  • Iphoto not working after update to mavericks. Cant access photos!!

Hello i just got the update for osx mavericks and i no longer can use iphoto.
I would just update it but the update is linked with a old itunes account i cannot remember the password for.
So my question is how do i update it without losing any of my data? Most of my photos were stored using iphoto.
Or if there is a way to access the photos in finder ill just take them off and stop using iphoto.
Please help!! I got like 4 years of photos in jepordy right now.

    Hello Jorda5s,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iPhoto.  When you update your operating system, applications you use may need to be updated as well to be compatible.
I understand that you are unable to update iPhoto because it was purchased with an older Apple ID that you no longer have the password for.  I recommend resetting the password for that account using the steps in the following article:
Apple ID: If you forget your password
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5787
If you continue to have issues resetting your password, please contact our Account Security Team:
Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security

Once you have reestablished your password, I recommend updating iPhoto.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

    Hello Adam,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
Your girlfriend's computer is not downloading because it now lacks the essential plugin "VerifiedDownloadPlugin.plugin", which would have been in System X/Library/Internet Plug-ins. There are other essential plugins as well, and unless you did not empty the Trash, they're gone too, and you'll have other problems.
I would reinstall Safari 2, which is available only through the Tiger DVDs. In order to get to the Safari package, you'll need the brilliant programme Pacifist, which is a piece of shareware that enables you to install individual packages from the DVD.
There might be other work-arounds; but I suspect that this aptly named piece if kit will prove by far the quickest, the most reliable, and the one most likely to produce a peaceful Christmas!
    All good wishes,
    Martin

  • IMovie, Garageband and iPhoto not installed after Mac OSX Snow Leopard installation

I tried to repair the hard drive of my MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro I own is not the latest one. I think this is from the previous generation. The disk cannot be repaired anymore so I just decided to erase the content then reinstalled the OS. I already updated the software but iMovie, iPhoto and Garageband was not in my applications. What should I do? I don't want to spend money to have those apps.

Perform a custom install of them from the DVDs which shipped with the computer.

  • Iphoto not working after update

I updated to OS X Mavericks last night, but my iPhoto is now not working, saying I need to updated version. It will not even let me access my photos in the app saying I need to download the new version from the app store. The updated version costs $14.99. Will my photo's from iphoto still be in the app if I purchase the update? I am annoyed my "free"software update is going to actually end up costing me $15, but I will only pay it if I know that my photos will still be there.

  • Why does iPhoto not launch after update to version 9.3.2?

Double clicking the application icon causes it to bounce 3 or 4 times in the dock and then quits. Trying to open with command + option will not launch for a rebuild. Holding down the option key illicits the same behavior.
How can I downgrade to 9.3.1 or make 9.3.2 work? It was working perfectly before the upgrade.
My other computer (a recent MacBook Pro) shows 9.3.1 version and software update shows it's up to date. It works great.

Still will not launch in new user account.
Downloaded a fresh copy of iPhoto 9.3.2 from Apple's website and updated. Did show error this time when it failed to launch.
