IPhoto not recognising date

When I open iPhoto to import photos from my camera, it puts the device in the side menu as a listed device, but it won't allow me to import anything from after the 15th. When it has the dates, it lists the 15th as the "to:" date. It does the same for my iPhone. I don't know what to do to change it to get photos from after this date.

The fifteenth of what?
What date is your Mac set to? Your camera set to?

  • Iphoto not recognising jpeg file

I have a Sony Nex-5r camera.  Up until yesterday I could upload photos from camera to iphoto not a problem.  For no reason that I can pinpoint iphoto now comes up with a mesage stating that the files are not in a recognisable format and I can't transfer them from my camera.  I use a usb cable to conntect to my Mac.

It's a minor database glitch, so let's repair the existing library:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • IPhoto not sending data to Canon i965

I was printing photos happily from iPhoto 6 on my Canon i965 when it suddenly started shooting out blank sheets of photo paper. The data from iPhoto was not transmitting across (no blue line to say it's reading it). Checked ink tanks, print head alignment, re-booted umpteen times. Waited for tech support from son, in the meantime the next day tried one more time in desperation and ... it worked! ... for two photos only, then started shooting out blank sheets again. The Canon prints all other documents OK. What can be the trouble please? I've been printing out wonderful photos for months without any fuss until now.

Hi.. Welcome to the Palm forums.  If I am understanding you correctly you have synced with the replacement 755p and created a new user which has no data in it.  All of your data is in palm desktop but a different user.  Actually this is a fairly simple fix.  Go into palm desktop.  Select the user with you data.  Go to the left column select datebook or calendar then go to file and export, select a directory to export to (I recommend desktop), name it and insure bottom left for range all is selected.  continue this process for all your data.  Then change to the new user (the current one for the replacement 755p with no data).  Then reverse the process, select calendar/datebook and import.  Find the file you previously exported and import it and you should now have your calendar data in the new user.  Continue this process till you have all your data in the new user and sync which should pull all the data into your replacement 755p.  Hope that helps.

  • IPhoto Not Recognised in Other Applications

    Hi there,
I really need help here and step-by-step guidance would really be appreciated.
First, I saw the article relating to this on the website and it didn't solve the problem (new xml file).
Originally I had iLife 2006 installed and I upgraded to iLife 2008. No problems prior to the upgrade.
Now, in iMovie, for example, I can no longer access my iPhoto library, it is greyed-out and inaccessible. I am using 10.4.10 with the latest iLife updates, iPhoto is 7.1, (v347).
Upon reading other posts it seems I should make a back-up of the iPhoto library. Please assist me by providing details on how to safely accomplish this.
Thanks so much in advance. Any help and guidance is very much appreciated.
    Lynn

    Lynn:
You're referring to accessing iPhoto via the Media browser in iMovie and other iApps, right. Try the following:
1 - delete the following preference files:
    com.apple.iApps.plist
    com.apple.iMovie.plist
    com.apple.iPhoto.plist
    com.apple.iDVD.plist
Also the preference file for the other iApps that can't see iPhoto.
These are located in your User/Library/Preferences folder
2 - launch iPhoto first, then iMovie and iDVD.
See if that will jump start the Media Browser.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Added a photo but iPhoto not recognising it as a face in my library

Ive added a few pics, these of of people who already are tagged in Faces.
ive been to the faces source list, and the pic isnt there in any of my faces, how do I make iPhoto pick it to be one of them, it doesnt even come up with a suggestion.
if I pick the photo, it ask me to add a missing face, but it isnt a missing face as its already in my Faces source?
    Am I missing something here?
    cheers

select the new photos one by one and click names in the tool bar -it the face has a square on it click it and name it - it it doesn't click on the add a face and put a square n it and name it
iPhoto does not always identify every face - sometimes you still have to do it manually

  • IMovie not recognising Data Video DAC AV/DV converter

I use my DataVideo Dac-1 to capture old VHS family movies. Drop them into iMovie edit and make short DVD's. The system worked a treat with our old G4 and Panther. Have just bought a dual G5 2 Gig machine & iMovie HD. The system is not seeing the DAC on the fire wire bus. I have tried new cables, plugging into a native bus etc etc. but no go. The DAC is admitted 5 years old but worked perfectly up to now. I am loath to have to scrap it because of a Fire wire incompatibility issue. Anyone else out here with similiar issues and a possible solution - or else off to the mail-order I go and cough up €200

    Hi Richard,
I cannot help, sorry, but I read here many reports concerning Converters worked/then failed....
I recommend http://www.apple.com/feedback/imovie.html to report in detail your system's profile and converter specs.... maybe, there IS some <bad word following> bug???

  • Apple id disabled not recognising date of birth

    Hi
Tried to log-in to my icloud account today and it said it was 'disabled for security reasons'.
It told me to reset my password at iforgot.apple.com, when I go to do this I am asked if I want to verify it by email or answer security questions.
I ask for a verifying email but as I cannot get into my account I cannot get the email as my account is disabled! the other account it might be sent to is an old work account that is no longer in use.
If I ask to answer security questions it asks for my date of birth and then it says this is incorrect when I know it is right.
Please what can I do, I use this as my work email and I am desperate for an answer
    Thanks

I have had to set up a new apple id to ask this question thanks

  • IPhoto not recognising iPhone

I changed my iPhoto library and suddenly I can't see my iPhone in the sidebar to import photos.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Petri Oosthuizen,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
What version of iPhoto are you working with?  When you choose to import from the File menu, is your iPhone offered as a source?  The article below will have you try to import using the Image Capture application.

  • For the 1st time I am trying to send an iPhoto by email but get an error message "combinations of username and password not recognised" I use the same details to log on to my Sky Mail (yahoo mail ) account . Any ideas?

For the 1st time I am trying to send an iphoto by e-mail but get the error message " combination of username and password not recognised  by the server" I use Sky Mail ( yahoo mail) and input the same username and password that I access Sky Mail - have retried many times. Predictably the Sky help desk have no idea. Can anyone help please?

I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

  • HT204053 My iPhone is set up with my old iCloud details. I can't remember the password, it is an old email address and it is not recognising my date of birth!! How can I delete it from my phone and enter my new Apple ID?

My iPhone is set up with my old iCloud details - how do I change it to my new Apple ID - my email has changed. I can't remember old password and it's not recognising my date of birth. I no longer have the trusted device or key thing??

Try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • IPhoto, sort by date is not a true date/time sort

In iPhoto, sort by date is not a true date/time sort.  If you have two cameras with there own naming convention iPhoto sorts filename by date separating the two cameras in the view. Is there a way to sort by DATE&TIME ONLY?

Using two cameras using iPhoto to upload pictures.
Both cameras are set to the correct time and date.
    Connect camera ONE filenames IMGP0101
    By default:
    No event name
    Split events checked
    Select import 12 photos
    Creates events:
    Untitled event December 27, 2013
    In order by time
    Untitled event December 28, 2013
    In order by time
    Untitled event December 29, 2013
    In order by time
    Untitled event December 30, 2013
    Connect camera TWO filenames IMG_1101
    By default:
    No event name
    Split events checked
    Select import 12 photos
    Creates events:
    Untitled event December 28, 2013
    In order by time
    Untitled event December 29, 2013
    In order by time
    Untitled event December 30, 2013
Now I have 2 events for each of December 28, 29 and 30 they are not all under the same event name. My only option is to click and drag the pictures from the second set of events to the first set of events then they are in order.  This is a real pain to do.  There needs to be a way to reset the event dates so all pictures from both cameras end up in the right event date.

  • IPhoto does not recognise iPhone since upgrade to iOS 5.1

iPhoto does not recognise iPhone since upgrade to iOS 5.1. Have tried every suggestion I could find but to no avail. Using iPhoto 9.3 and IOS 5.1. This has only started happening since upgrade to IOS 5.1

  • Yosemite, iPhoto 9.6 upgrade, large photo library is not recognised.

iMac 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (Early 2009) with 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Ram, 1 TB HD.
Just installed OS X Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6.  I didn't run iPhoto immediately after instal, but my wife did while I was gone.  She told me later that iPhoto didn't work and that when she clicked iPhoto, it asked to fix the permissions and after a bit iPhoto became unresponsive so she shut down the computer.
When I opened it, it asked to upgrade the library to work with the new version of iPhoto.  Clicked ok and let it run...it did not last more than 5 minutes.  When trying to open iPhoto now, it pauses for a second, then it displays the initial first time use splash screen (yellow sticky that says how to add photos to iPhoto).
The photo library in the finder shows it to be 230GB which is about the size I remember it to be.  Showing the package contents I can see all of the photos in the "old masters" folder.
    I have tried the following:
    - Re-boot
    - Repairing disk permissions (from recovery mode)
    - Reset PRAM
    - deleted and re-installed iPhoto
    - Utilised all the options in the iPhoto Library First Aid (all take about 1 second to complete)
    - Ran iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild photo library (took under a minute)
I have another copy of the library in another folder as well as an online backup (but all have been updated with the problem library so I don't think that will help much).  As we speak, I am doing a local backup of the photos to an external drive just in case something further were to happen or I need to do a clean instal (don't think I can wait to have all of that download from the online backup).
So if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
    1. Is there anything else I can do to save the database before having to just pull all of the photos out of the library and losing all of the metadata?
    2.  If thats all there is to do, what is easiest and best way to do manually or automate this...and to retain as much of the metadata as possible?
