IPhoto not working on new Macbook Air

I have just have all my data transferred from my old 2008 Macbook Air to this new 5th Gen Macbook Air and now iPhoto won't open.
It says - In order to open iPhoto you need to update to the latest version. The version of iPhoto installed on this mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from Mac App Store.
Then it says the item is not currently available from the UK Mac App Store.
How do i check all my photos are on this machine?

Aperture not working on new MacBook Air

I have a new 11" MAcBook Air and bought Aperture from the App store. I keep getting an error message saying that this version may not work with this operating system. Have deleted and re-installed. Any ideas?

Same problems using Aperture on my macbook air bought in march 2011. Apple telephone sales said that it would work but today an Apple Aperture Engineer advised me to avoid trying to use Aperture on a macbook air. I bought Aperture 3 pre-installed at the recommendation of the Apple representative. Many hours of phone calls to Apple and 6 Apple 1-2-1 lessons on Aperture has been a waste of my time and money. The macbook air, super drive and extended warranty are useless and I spent $1976 dollars on this fiasco. Apple is so far unwilling to make amends. I need to buy a new Macbook Pro + aperture 3 + extended care. $3250. Game set and match Apple.

Webcam not working on new Macbook Air

My webcam does not work correctly on certain applications. I have found a supplemental download to fix this with OS Mountain Lion, but I now have OS Mavericks. Is there a supplement available for this OS or do I need to wait?

LR 5 not working on new Macbook Pro.

LR 5 not working on new Macbook Pro. Have tried 2 CC downloads, 5.6 licensed download and 5.5 licensed download, all result in the same thing. It comes up with basic screen but no panels and gives an error occurred when changing modules. Nothing I've tried seems to help. It also has says "get started with lightroom mobile at top left although it says it is Lr 5.6. Anybody else having problems? Calls to adobe result in no help and have to wait till Monday for some technical support. Surely this should run on a NEW laptop with no other software installed!!!

Install logs were fine. Application installed but wouldn't run properly. Finally got Adobe support and it turns out to be a file permissions error. Had to add both applications and myself as accessors of Lightroom folder under path ~/Library/Adobe/ and set permissions to read & write (was read only for everything but system) and apply to all enclosed folders. Runs fine now. Including this here in case anyone else runs across this issue.

Every time I want to see videos from youtube the video player just says "your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available".

It appears as if only some videos on YouTube will play using HTML5 and without Flash. For example, this video plays just fine for me and I do not have flash installed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxEWddT44BY
So, unfortunately, you will have to install flash or wait for YouTube to fix their website.
Also, one thing to try: When I had Flash installed and the "ClickToPlugin" Safari extension installed, YouTube would load all the movies in a simple HTML5 format. So no annotations or any other annoying stuff. Might be worth trying. You will have to install flash but, with the "ClickToPlugin" extension, you don't have to use Flash.

IMessage not working on new Macbook Pro.

iMessage not working on new Macbook Pro. Issue began after I downloaded latest version of Mountain Lion. After every message it says delivered then immediately a red circle with exclamation point says message not delivered. Any ideas?

I can also no longer text on my computer or iPad. Fine on iPhone. Same as you - I can see everything up until a specific day. But I didn't do any kind of update where it should have stopped. And it stopped working on my computer and iPad at the same time.

And when you are launching the Console window (The Console app is in Apllications > Utilities), are there any disgnostic messages, when you try to launch Notes?
When did this start? What were you doing, before the problem first occured?

IPhone does not connect to new Macbook Air 2013

I have an iPhone 4 and have always used to the USB cable to connect it to my macs. It works perfectly fine in onther 4 macbooks: one macbook white 2007, one macbook pro 2010 and a macbook air 2012.
Now I have the brand new macbook air 2013 and the iPhone is the only USB device I can not connect to it (all my external hard drives, wireless headphone work just fine). What happens is that when I connect the iPhone, it repeatly plays the sound as if it was connected, then it plays the sound as if it was disconnected.
What could I do to make it work?

Compact flash jpeg's not opening on new Macbook Air

I have a new Macbook Air OSX 10.7.4 I also have a Nikon d300 camera. That camera requires a compact flash card. My Air won't recognize the jpeg's coming off that card. Error messages. I discovered that I must first dump them onto a Macbook pro desktop, then onto an SDHC camera card, then back once again to the Air. Any help out there? Pleeeese?

Finder is not working on my macbook air. I

Finder stopped working on my macbook air about 6 weeks ago. Firstly, we factory reset the computer to make finder work again. Finder is now not working again and I am worried that the only solution is to reset the computer again losing everything on it.
Can anybody help me with this?

Start by deleting the Finder's plist file:
Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
then restarting your Mac.
If that didn't do it, and you don't want to lose all your files and settings, try an archive and install:

Magic mouse doesnt work with new macbook air

Hey guys,
Just bought the magic mouse and it pairs just fine to my new 13" macbook air. But it only moves around and clicks and nothing else. Does not scroll or do any multitouch functions. I have checked all software is up to date and all settings are correct.

I was having the same issues as Cawlin and called up AppleCare. They suggested resetting the PRAM, and then a SMC reset. That didn't work, so they had me do a re-install of the OS and system updates. None of that worked, and then it suddenly occurred to me that I had installed USB Overdrive a little while back and turns out that it was the culprit. A quick uninstall and everything's back to normal. The mouse preference panel is now displaying the correct options for the magic mouse. So if you have any 3rd party software for a mouse or keyboard installed, I would suggest uninstalling or disabling it and see if that does the trick.

Personal Hotspot not working with my MacBook Air

So I have an iPhone 6 and a MacBook Air (Mid2013), who both meet the requirements for the new personal Hotspot in iOS8.
I connected the 2 devices and it worked for some time. I could activate the personal hotspot without even touching the phone. I was very happy, but suddenly it stopped working, although I didn't install a new update on any of the two devices (both are still up to date). At some point, I had to turn the hotspot on manually to get it working, but now, the only way to connect to my hotspot, is to start diagnostics and connect trough that window.
The bluetooth connection works without a problem& my iPhone hotspot works perfectly with my iPad 3.
I tried everything, someone wrote on a website that the iCloud might me the problem, so I disconnected both devices from iCloud and reconnected afterwards. It worked exactly once after that. Then, my MacBook kept saying that the personal hotspot could not be activated (even if I activated the hotspot manually).

Audition CS5.5 not working on 2014 MacBook Air

Greetings!
Just upgraded computers (from a 2008 MacBook) to a 2014 MacBook Air (13", Early 2014). I had Audition CS5.5 on my old Mac so I deactivated it, installed it on the new Air and activated it. Everything seemed to install smoothly, but when I open the program and open an audio file, it just doesn't work, plain and simple. I hit play and nothing happens. I try with the spacebar and nothing happens. The play button lights up, but nothing plays. I can add effects to tracks and see that changes are being made in the waveforms, but can't listen back. Even after making changes, I cannot save those changes.
The specifics:
13" MacBook Air (Early 2014)
1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
4GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Running OSX Yosemite (10.10.3, same as my old MacBook with no issues)
As for Audition, it's CS5.5. There don't appear to be any updates available. I know that I can upgrade to CS6 and I have no problem paying the upgrade charge, but will only do so if I know for a fact that the issue will be resolved. And honestly, unless there are earth-shattering updates, I'm perfectly happy with 5.5.
So there it is. Anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? I've done some searching, but can't seem to find anyone with the exact issue I'm having. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I checked the audio settings and all appeared to be right. Just to be safe, I re-selected the correct options. The right drivers were also installed, but again, I re-selected it just to be sure. And viola! It worked!
Very strange. So essentially I changed nothing, but not it works. Can't thank you enough for the speedy response!

ICloud not working on my MacBook Air its already signed in and cant sign out

Trying to set up iCloud on my MacBook Air, going into System Preferences, iCloud, my account is signed in but the bar below which says iCloud storage is blank, nothing is saved to my iCloud. How do I do this and how do I put all my photos onto iCloud from iPhotos too. I have never used iCloud so new to this. Many thanks

You icloud storage does not store photos, use some other service for storing photos, like Dropbox.
There is a service in icloud called Photo Stream that temporarily stores photos - but this is for syncing photos from one device to another, it's not a photo storage service (it only keeps photos for up to 30 days).
For the most part, icloud is a syncing service. For example, if you have a Pages document, you can store it on icloud so that other devices can access it and edit it. But that document is also store locally on your mac.
