Iphoto on Macbook Air
I brought my Macbook last week and my photo wasn't loading and told me to download the new software (which I did) and now iphoto has completely gone off my mac and I can't download it from the app store because it says it's not available in the UK.
Both iPhoto and Aperture have been pulled from the App Store because of the release of new Photos for OS X app, which is a replacement for them. If you are running OS X 10.10.3, there's no way to install iPhoto.

The PDF file and slideshow view corrupted using iPhoto. Macbook air only get corrupted slideshow and Mac Mini both slideshow and PDF file is corrupted.
Saving as a PDF file for some users have been a problem. If you boot into Safe Mode and run iPhoto you can create undamaged PDF files. We don't know why the problem but this is a workaround.
This problem prevents many from ordering books, calendars and cards since iPhoto creates PDF file of them for uploading and printing. Booting into Safe Mode lets them successfully order those items. -
HT4906 I deleted iphoto on Macbook Air, how do i get it back?
I deleted iphoto on Macbook Air, how do i get it back?
Reinstall it.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -
Syncing Photos from iPhone 5 to iPhoto on Macbook Air
I have synced my photos from my iPhone 5 to my Macbook Air through iPhoto to free up storage. I do not have a single picture in my camera roll, but on my iPhone in storage settings, it says that Photos and Camera are still taking up 7.2GB of memory (Specifically: Photo Library - 7.2GB, Synced from iTunes Library - 0.7 KB, and Shared Photo Stream - 4.1 KB). How do I completely delete this photos off of my iPhone to free up storage without erasing them from my iPhoto on my Macbook?
Check Settings > Photos & Camera > iCloud Photo Library (Beta) = "Off"
You may then need to reset the iPhone. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
iCloud Photo Library is not on your Mac yet. -
Copy of iPhoto for Macbook Air & iMac?
I have iPhoto on my Macbook Air, but I purchased a used iMac which does not have iphoto. Do I have to purchase iPhoto from the Mac store for copy on my iMac? I want the abillity to organize photos on both computers. Can I copy iPhoto from the Mackbook Air to the iMac?
The iPhoto app did not appear in the purchase list. After more research I discovered the new version of iPhoto is not compatible with Snow Leopard OS and I will need to purchase an old version of iLife if I want iPhoto on my iMac running Snow Leopard.

IPhoto/5S/Macbook Air/Yosemite Duplicate Photo Question
I own a 5S and Macbook Air 2011 running Yosemite. When I connect my phone to my computer to upload photos from phone to computer, duplicates appear in iPhoto. This is not a result of cloud/photosharing bc I don't use them. I also don't use the HDR function on my phone. Can someone tell me why this could be happening? Thanks!
It's bug and other posts on the forum found a simple workaround: open the camera app on the phone, then connect it.

Unlock of iPhoto in MacBook Air
I am using MacBook Air. I was asked to enter my passport in iPhoto to unlock but I never put in a password.
Version number: 9.5.1I was asked to enter my passport in iPhoto to unlock but I never put in a password.
At which occasion have you been asked to enter a password? iPhoto 9.5.1 does not have a separate password. It is bound to the AppleID you purchased it with.
Did you try to access a cloud account? Facebook, Flickr, Photo Stream? Or are you trying to move the iPhoto application from the Applications folder? -
How to re-load iPhoto onto MacBook Air from USB
Hi,
iPhoto has decided that it needs to be re-loaded onto my MBA.
I have iLife '11 on my MacBook Air Software Reinstall Drive, but cannot get iPhoto to work after re-loading.
I can't find any guidance that relates directly to this problem.
iPhoto is generating crash reports, which I've forwarded to Apple with my email address, but no reply.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Iphoto on macbook air glithes when trying to edit.
when i go onto iphoto and select a photo and then click edit everything pixelates and glithes aswell as frezzes what can i do to fix it?
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed. -
Transfer Macbook iPhotos to macbook air?

Iphoto damaged + Macbook Air so no disks
Update via AppStore doesn't work, so how do I fix it?
Anybody know the steps?
Thx
RTo re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -
i am having macbook air recently my iphotos did not open and was showing report apple and reopen but i came to know that by pressing alt and iphotos i open an new photo library and stored the pics but now how can i get the pics which i had in the earlier photo please help me to recover my photos
Well I'll guess you're using iPhoto 11:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I have a new MAcBook Air and my photos don't fit on the internal hard drive. I want to store my photos on an external hard drive which I will connect to my Air when using Iphoto. How do I set an external hard drive as the default drive in Iphoto?
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

I just got a macbook air and i thought that it was supposed to come with ilife already installed? But there is not ilife apps...how do i get it on the laptop without having to buy them all from the app store if it was supposed to come with it?
From the iPhoto Licence:
3. Transfer.
A. Apple Software obtained from the Mac App Store is not transferable. If you sell your Apple-branded hardware to a third party, you must remove the Apple Software from the Apple-branded hardware before doing so.
B. For any preinstalled Apple Software, you may make a one-time permanent transfer of all of your license rights to the Apple Software (in its original form as provided by Apple) to another party, provided that: the Apple Software is transferred together with your Apple-branded hardware; (ii) the transfer must include all of the Apple Software, including all its component parts, printed materials and this License; (iii) you do not retain any copies of the Apple Software, full or partial, including copies stored on a computer or other storage device; (iv) you have not associated the Apple Software with your Mac App Store account as set forth in Section 2B; and (v) the party receiving the Apple Software reads and agrees to accept the terms and conditions of this License.
If the previous owner accepted the preinstalled software (iPhoto, etc) to the AppleID, it cannot be passed on to a new owner. Even if the previous owed would use her or his Applied to install it for you, you would never be able to reinstall it or to update it.
In that case buy your own copies of the software. -
I am trying to install iphoto 09 on my new MacBook Air and the install button is grayed out. Both for installation and custom install. Is there a problem that I am not aware of?
Check for receipts
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.

Help with Java Inventory Program - I almost got it
