IPhoto only partially updates albums after syncing

I purchased iPhoto after I upgraded my iPad 4 to iOS 7 so I don't know if this is a new problem or not. What happens is whenever I change out albums on my PC and synch my iPad iPhoto acts very strange. It shows the new albums and new images but it tries to display them in the pixel dimensions of the old images I just removed. Example would be an image that is in reality 800x600 it may try to display at 2000x1500....so it's very distorted. At first I didn't know why it was distorted but bringing up the dimensions in iPhoto it shows the old images dimensions rather than the new one. The default Photos app does not do this. The only fix I've found so far is to delete iPhoto and reinstall it from the App Store after each sync! Not very convenient.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Is there a new update for IOS compatibility coming soon? Should I delete albums from Photos BEFORE syncing? Would that be better?

There is no way to delete synced albums directly on the iPad. You delete them by syncing with the album deselected.
You could try to wipe all photos from the iPad by syncing once with all previous albums deselected.
And if that does not solve the issue, try the general trouble shooting routine for the iPad (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3274)
Reset all settings: (write them all down, before you delete them!)
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
As a last measure, backup restore the iPad and restore it in iTunes.

IPhoto only partially synched photostream

There are about 462 photos on my photostream, but when I activated iPhoto (a few hours ago) it only synced 42 of them (and not even the most-recent 42, seems random).
Why does iPhoto only show a few photos from my photostream? Does it only upload so-many photos at once?

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that doesn't help try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and try to create a new, test library. If you can then the culprit is your old library. If that's the case make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Why do I have the same photos in two "albums" after sync?

After upgrading my 3GS to iOS5 this evening (and fixing all the other issues that came along), I have noticed that after syncing with the photo folder I keep on my PC that those same photos now have two albums in my photos app. Can anyone explain this and is there a fix? I tried deleting them but that removed both folders, and a quick browsing of the forums brought no other threads addressing this issue.

Not sure how this did not happen with the previous iOS version on your iPhone. It has been this way on the various iPhones I've used - original, 3G, and now an iPhone 4, and I've used every iOS version beginning with 1.0.
All photos transferred from your computer are stored in the Photo Library. The folders or albums below include a pointer to the original photos that are stored in the Photo Library - the photos are not duplicated.
With multple folders or albums transferred, this way you can view the photos in a folder or album only by selecting the folder or album, or you can view all photos in all folders or albums by selecting Photo Library.
You cannot remove this.

Somy Bridge forgets to update playlist after sync - iTunes/Mac

I saw a similar thread in Z Ultra subforum, but decided to post it here as well, just in case the software development team focuses mainly on the software forum.
Setup: Mac OsX - iTunes - Sony Bridge - Z3 compact (All up to date).
When i sync a playlist, with sony bridge, from the iTunes, to the device for the first time, it copies the files to the device and creates a playlist file from the copied files or from the iTunes playlist for the device. All works well after that and when you open up playlists from the walkman app, you can see the playlist there with all the songs.
However if i modify the same playlist on the computer by adding more songs to it and open sony bridge and sync the existing playlist again - it syncs - and after syncing if i look from the walkman app that playlist, i see no modifications in the playlist just as nothing has been added or removed - items count is still the same as before syncing. Although if you look at the Recently Added section in the walkman app, you can see the news files have been added to the device - but they just wont show up in the playlist.
Technically what happens in the program level is that it forgets to update the playlist file on the android device after an already existing playlist gets synced / updated with new files. It adds the files to the device, but leaves an old playlist file to the device.
Current logic seems to be that if the playlist file already exists on the device, it assumes it has the neccessary playlist and all is OK, but it forgets that there might have been modifications to the already existing playlist and that the playlist file should be updated too.
Solution for the program would be to delete the old playlist file and create a new playlist file after the sync.

IPod bails out after only partial update on iTunes

Heres the problem: My ipod starts updating new songs, then after ~1GB of songs ( Ihave 16GBs of songs in iTunes), it just drops out (disappears), comes back a couple minutes later, but then starts updating at some random previous point (say 300GBs). It will get to a point around 1.2-1.5GBs and then bails out againreappearing at some prior update point. It does this over, over.
This has to be my laptop issue because Im on my 2nd iPod and having this SAME exact issue!!!
Ive talked to Apple support but they cant figure this out. Heres what Ive done so far (nothing has helped)
     Ive downloaded SP2 for Windows (apple support guy recommended)
     I disallowed my computer to turn off USB to save power (also an apple recommendation)
     Ive disabled my Network Associates 7.1 Enterprise Virus Scan (apple recommend as well)
     Reinstalled itunes
     Reinstalled iPod updater
     Ive reset ipod, restored ipod and rebooted laptop.
Like I said, this is my 2nd ipod, and the same thing happened (must be some quicky setting/SW with me laptop?)
This is a terrible experience.... Please Help?

How can I fix app downloading issues? Can only load/update apps via sync with laptop.

I cannot download, reload,or update my Apps via Wifi. I can only accomplish this by syncing the phone via iTunes and laptop via cable. When I choose to install or update I get a "waiting" message indefinitely.

Issue solved. I found that there was a PodCast that had not finished downloading for some reason. I deleted the PodCast app and all PodCast downloads and Apps download fine now.

XML container only partially updated in replication environment

I have a problem with adding new replicas to a replication group. The situation is the following:
At startup the replication group only consists of the master database which has one container file containing 5000 documents. Then when I connect a new empty replica after a while it connects to the master and creates the environment and the container file on disk. However the problem is that only some of the documents from the master (always between 10 and 300) actually arrive at the replica.
Then when I start inserting new documents on the master (XmlContainer.putDocument()) these AND after a while the old documents are transferred to the replica.
The problem is the same when initializing a new site accoding to: http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/xml/ref/rep/init.html
So the question is how can i update a new replica without inserting new documents on the master?

Updating Video after sync

After I sync and go to "Videos" I get the message "Updating", after the update is complete the movies play fine. I just don't recall this happening before.
Any ideas from anyone?

IBooks always shows update flag after syncing with mac

Hi,
I'm running OSX Mavericks on the Mac and iOS 8.1.1 on the iPad.I don't use iCloud and I backup the ipad over my mac via iTunes.
Each time I sync via iTunes and, after that, I start iBooks on the ipad, many books are shown with the update flag. In the attached image, you can see that there are 23 publications needing an update, but it's not true because they are already up to date.
I tried to update them on the iPad then I did a backup but, after the resync, they were asking an update... again.
iBooks on mac displays the same books as the ipad but without the update-needed flag.
Books on both ipad and mac are perfectly accessible.
Any suggestion?

The itunes content will be erased from the iphone when you sync to another computer.
Iphone can sync to ONE computer at a time.
Did you not maintain a back up of your music?
If you have at least one contact and calendar entry in your computer, you should get the option to merge the data.

Why won't iPhoto or iMovie updates work after Mavericks update?

Following updating to Mavericks the App Store lists two necessray updates - IPhoto and iMovie. However when I try and update I get an error message saying that they cant be updated from this apple ID. I originally installed them back in the days when I was running Leopard from a CD - No problems since then, but now apparently no go...
Both still work in their current form.
iPhoto 11 ver 9.4.3
iMovie 11 ver 9.0.9
Any ideas?

The updates/replacements for the iLife and iWork apps are free from the App Store. However, you may have to completely delete the apps to get the free download. NOTE the free iWork (Pages, Keynote, and Numbers) have a reduced feature set similar to the iOS and iCloud versions.

Itunes match only partially matches album

happens again an again - today with new pink album. It imports, but not all songs match so that some of them get uploaded instead of matched.
How can I fix this?

Actually, that's not the main object of iTunes Match from Apple's persective. I know the OP doesn't want AAC files because his car audio system only supports MP3 CDs, so my solution offers a better option for him to get the album fully matched. The OP has the MP3 files on his computer to burn to MP3 CD for his car audio player, and he (hopefully) also gets the album "matched" at 256 Kbps AAC for playing on his other devices.

Aperture only partially updating my Photo Stream

This is driving me nuts! I took some photos with my iPhone and they transfered fine to the Photo Stream on the iPhone; however, when I open Aperture and it downloads new Photo Stream pictures it skips some of them!! Today for instance I took 8 photos which are all in Photo Stream on my iPhone but Aperture only downloaded 3 of them! I have no idea why.
Is there any way to "refresh" the Photo Stream, other than turning it on and off? (Which is what I always have to do to synch properly but it's a pain with almost 1,000 photos).

Ok, mystery solved, and purely by chance. For some reason, and I have no idea why, Photo Stream was not checked in my iCloud System Preferences. I had definitely checked it before and no idea how it became unchecked. But that seems to have been the problem because now it's working again

I have 1661 songs in laptop iTunes but only 1660 on iPhone after syncing. How can I easily identify the song that did not sync?

One thing that comes to mind would be if you have a music video and your iPhone isn't setup to sync videos.
You also may have one streaming item in your library that would not be synced to your iPhone.
You can try making a smart playlist where Media Kind is Music Video, or Kind contains Stream.
There are a few other instances where this might happen, but I would start by looking for these.

Suddenly after syncing...Library organization different on ipod than itunes

Does anyone know how to fix the organization of albums on ipod? I have everything organized as it should be in itunes "Album/by Artist" and everything is in the correct order. Recently upon adding new albums, after syncing, some albums are simply moved to end and no longer in alphabetical order, but only on my ipod. Most still are, but some have moved. Not even the newly added...just random ones. I've tried resyncing. Itunes is organized correct and ipod is not?

Hey there...I eventually found a common thread with all albums that got moved to the end of the alphabetical list on the ipod. Ipod and Itunes must sort with slight differences. All the albums at the end of my list were checked as "part of a compilation". This might be the same problem you are having. Often on a album, if there are any "guest artists" listed with even one song, if they are listed (artist & so and so) with the "artitist" in that sorting field, the album will be listed as a compilation. I haven't found any problems with simply unchecking "part of a compilation". This also moved the albums back to the alphabetical ordering on the ipod. Find a album that may be in the correct spot on iTunes, but not in your ipod...select it...select entire album/all songs...either under file or by right clicking, go to "get info". You will be asked if you want to edit for entire album, select yes. Go to the "options" tab and deselect "part of a compilation" and click "ok". If this was your problem, it should appear in alphabetical order on your ipod after that. Lemme know if it works...Rock on!

HT2265 for some reason the only photos that do the random scrolling are events, can I include the albums from iphoto to scroll as well. the know the albums have synced because i can view them in slideshow

Welcome to the Apple Community.
I assume you are referring to the screensaver. You can change the photos used by the screensaver in the screensaver settings. Note if you have a large number of photos in the collection you choose for screensaver, not all of them will be used due to the limited storage available to the Apple TV.
