IPhoto Organizing and sending attachements
I am confused as to how iphoto is organizing my pics. Everything looks perfect on my main screen, but when i try to attach photos in my email i have to go through several screens that i dont understand and then get to iphoto library>data>2006> then all my film rolls (not folders) so what then is the point of folders?
Also when i go this way i see pictures that i have deleted from iphoto showing up in this window when they should be deleted....
So does anyone know how to fix this way this all looks and acts when i am trying to attach photos to email?

From your original question, it looks like you're looking in your data folder for images. Your Data folder only contains thumbnails of your images, so if you upload those to Shutterfly you're going to get pixelated prints.
If you're uploading to a service, the fail-safe way to do it is to Export. Select the album or the photos, then choose Export from the File menu, and export to a new empty folder on the desktop (or anywhere).
Or, create a folder on your desktop or somewhere, and select the photos (within iPhoto) and simply drag to that folder. Then continue:
Lead the dialog box (for uploading to Shutterfly) to this created folder to upload.
The folders in the left margin are not as pointless, from iPhoto's standpoint. They allow you to have collections that overlap or are sub/supersets of one another, as well as smart albums that pick out their content based on your specified criteria. If they represented physical folders, there would be a lot of duplication and other problems with organizing photos.
Here's a good example: Have a smart album look for five star ratings, go through your library and rate your pictures. The smart album will have the ones with five stars automatically. That way you can select all those photos and place it in a folder to upload to Shutterfly or whatever service.
iPhoto's organization works great for their own services, since you can do everything within iPhoto. I've seen better deals for photos, and cards, but their books and calendars are unmatched in quality, and very competitive in price.

Mail and iPhoto Problems with sending photos.
I have this problem that started a while ago and seems to be getting worse.
Here are the different scenarios.
-If I try to share a photo to email within iPhoto, it will insert the image file name in the mail message, but no image icon or opened image. In iPhoto Preferences under General I have chosen to use Email Photos using Mail.
-If I choose to use iPhoto to send the photo, it will compose the message and the photo is viewable. If I send the message i can view the photo within the email I sent to myself. Nothing happens when I double click on the photo in the Mail message. Nothing happens when i control click on the photo in the mail message. Nothing happens when I try to drag the photo to the desktop from the mail message. When I try to save attachments from the email and choose a place to save it, the save button is grayed out and it cannot be saved. When I check the mail message it says there is an attachemnt but there is no file size listed.
-If I use the stationary within Mail app I cannot drag a photo into the placeholder, I get a circle with a line through it symbol when I try. It happens if I try to drag a photo from the desktop or from the media browser within Mail app.
-If I drag the photo to the desktop from iPhoto, I can double click it on the desktop and it will open in Preview.
-If I then control click on the same photo on the desktop and scroll to share/email, the generic photo icon will be inserted in the mail message. If i double click the photo icon in the mail message I get a message it can't be opened because it is empty.
-If I drag that same image to the mail message body the same thing happens.
-If I send that email to someone they cannot open the image file.
What I can do:
- I can drag that same image file on the desktop to my dropbox folder and it will upload. From there I can go on my iPad and download the photo and send it through email just fine.
-I can open the same image file on my desktop in Preview, I can copy and paste it into a mail message and the image will be viewable in the mail message by me and by the recipient.
-I can drag that same image on the desktop to my safari browser window and it will be viewable in the page. i can then copy and paste that image into a mail message and it is viewable in the message. I can then send that email message to myself and i can control click on the image and get all my options. It also shows as an attachment with the size of the image file in the mail message.
I can send that message to someone and they can see the photo and open it fine.
-If I send that same email to me I can see the photo within the mail. If I then drag that photo to the desktop I cannot use it again to put in an email as the same problem happens again.
I have tried all scenarios in my user account, another users account and in a guest account. The same happens in all. I am guessing because of this it is not a corrupt preference file, unless all of the preference files are corrupt. The guest user account I added a new email account so it was brand new and still had the problem.
I am stumped, all and any help is appreciated.Another problem that may be related….
I have Snapz Pro. I used to be able to save the snaps to my desktop or a folder. Now when I take a screenshot and try to save the file to my desktop or a folder on my desktop I get this message "Files cannot be created in the selected location. You do not have permission to write to the selected location. Please choose a different location." I have found that i can only save the file to the clipboard. I have repaired permissions many times and still I have this problem. -
How do I take an IPhoto and send it as a FILE to someone?
This may very well be a profound delimma to some. To others a raison d'etre and serch caves in the Andes for a wiseman. To me, it's a matter of getting published in a guitar magazine. Seriously. I'd prefer a woodwind mag, but guitars are good in the hands of some masters. I can't for the life of me figure this one out. The closest thing was to zip file it. Is that the answer?
Use Apple mail - in your applications folder or can be set in the iPhoto preferences as the e-mail client - attach the photo and set the mail format to plain text and send - it will go as an attached file
1 - Launch Apple Mail
2 - create an e-mail
3 - using the photo browser near the upper right hand corner of the message header to browse photos find the photo you and and attach it
4 - under the format menu set message format to "Plain text"
5 - Click on Send

for some reason when ever i use apple mail to send aphoto it asks for a password which it wont accetp then.

code1/ if i am in hotmail and want to attach a photo from iphoto with my email. i go into attachments, however i cannot get into iphoto i can however get into photo booth and send one of those pics. when i say i cannot get into iphoto, i mean it is very "shadowed" writing and so the cursor does not turn into a hand and therefore cannot open.

Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.

Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Is there a major flaw with Iphoto in regards to organizing and backing up? And how should I proceed??
Here is my story. I have moved roughly 15,000 photos from 7 computers (4 PCs and 3 Macs - basically everyone's computer in the family) onto one external hard drive. The photos were taken by many different digital cameras, are sparsely labeled, and have the most random names and folders. There are a LOT of duplicates. MY MISSION - label and back them up.
The way I normally deal with photos/DATA is this: I plug my camera into my Mac and immediately think about organizing and backing them up. With "Preview" I look at photos (and decide which one I like), create a folder called "where-ever I took these photos" and drag them into that folder. The problem with Iphoto is that you have no ability to control folders, unlike many other applications.
For example, in Itunes you can rename an artist, or even an album, and it will automatically appear in an updated folder. If you alter a photo in Photoshop, it makes you save it is a new file. In Iphoto you cannot make the same "root level" changes without making duplicates. From what I understand, you can place photos into an Album and then export that album (which makes duplicates). Iphoto will rename each duplicate file and then place it in the correct folder. The problem here is I have no idea where the original is to delete it.
Basically I want to create folders called "Trip to Italy 2003" or "Rachel's Wedding" and place all the photos associated with that event in those folders. The problem I run into is that I have a bunch of duplicates. I have heard of a program called Duplicate Annihilator which has gotten favorable reviews. If I import them into Iphoto all the photos are placed in random named folders. I say random because some of the photos were taken on cameras that didn't have the date set correctly. Hence some of my photos will appear in a labyrinth of folders called "Modified / 2001 / Roll 17 / DCM482 / Image25874654.jpg"
I am totally willing to wipe my Iphoto library clean and start again if there is a way to organize the photos as described above. Eventually I will take these folders and save them on a data DVD.

GaryYou do not need to delve into the folders within the iPhoto Library via the finder to access any photo. That is all done within iPhoto itself. If you need a photo for use outside of iPhoto read Terence Devlin's treatise on file access. iPhoto is a DAM application - Digital Asset Management, not a folder manager. There's a big difference. You can use keywords, album and smart albums to organize your photos.
If you still have the original files you might consider what I do. I rename each file with the date it was taken using the international date format: YYYY-MM-DD-001.jpg. You can download the demo version ofMedia Expression and automatically rename each folder of photos with the EXIF date and a sequential number. This makes chronological searching and sorting much easier both in iPhoto and the Finder.
If you want to not only manage the photos but the folders then Expression Media will let you do both. It will let you rename files after being imported into a catalog, move them between folders, add ITPC metadata to the files, create virtual albums called Supplemental categories, and much, much more. I use it as my primary DAM and iPhoto for special projects like books, slideshows, calendars, etc. -

I received a message on my iPhone 4 that has a video attached to it. I "saved video" but don't know where. How do I find it and send it to mi MacBook Air?
It would have saved to your camera roll. Connect the phone to your Air via a USB cable and then run Image Capture which is located either in your Utilities folder or Other folder, depending on what version of Mac OS X your are running. You will then see all the photos and videos stored on your iPhone and can then download them.

How to create a pdf for the URL attached to an invoice and send it as an attachment in a mail

I have requirement where i need to get the URL attached to an invoice, create the pdf and send as an attachement in a mail.
The URL attached to an invoice can be seen by following the path : VF03-> Billing document->system->Services for object ->Attachement list.
On searching through existing forums, i found that there is a table 'SRGBTBREL' which stores relationships of GOS object. On giving the invoice number in field 'INSTID_A', i could find an entry in this table.
To get the content, i used the class CL_FITV_GOS, method GET_CONTENT. To this method i passed following values:

On execution, i get URL link but the content table is empty.

I would like to copy my iPhoto (9.4.1) library from my Mac Pro (10.7.5) to a Macbook Pro (10.7.5). Can I drag the iPhoto Library from the Pictures folder to Air Drop and send them to the MacBook? If I then move that to the Pictures folder on the MacBook will that then be a usable iPhoto library on the Macbook?
It would be better if you could connect the two Macs via a hard wired LAN to copy the library from the Mac Pro to the MacBook. Wireless connections can have momentary dropouts which could affect the reliable copying of files.
If you do go with Air Drop be sure to open and inspect the copied library closely to confirm it was a successulf copy.

Convert spool to pdf and send in email sometimes attachment duplicated.
Hi all, I have a process that creates a spool, converts it to a pdf and then attaches it to an email. My problem is that sometimes, the same attachment is duplicated.
The process seems to work fine in debug mode (the attachment changes for each loop) but when I run it in the background, every few emails, it will duplicate an attachment.
I have noticed that the size of the pdf seems to change properly but that the content of the pdf does not match. So, it is like it gets the correct size of the pdf but not the body.
This is code that a consultant wrote and I am pretty new to abap/sap. I have changed some of the code because it was trying to handle an endless loop (I figured it should not have to handle (be in) an endless loop). I changed that code and it is working but this previous issue still exists. Thanks for your help.

If I add a wait after this, the program works successfully. Is there another way to write the data to create a spool within my initial program rather than doing the submit? Could it be that it is putting data in memory?

I have created a email in Fireworks and wanted to make a line of text a hyperlink that would take the viewer to a page on my website. I want to attach the final document to my email and sending it out.
1) design for no wider than 600px (otherwise it may not fit in email clients).
2) Slice up your newsletter design in segments for images and html areas with the slice tool.
3) add the <a href="http://www.yourwebsite.com">my website</a> link in one of the html areas.
4) export as generic html 4 code, and put the images in a separate folder.
5) upload all the images to your website's server in a folder (you cannot embed images in an email newsletter - they must link to externally hosted images).
6) change all the links in your html page to the ones that were loaded up on your server. For example, an image's source link would work out similar to this: <img src="http://www.yourwebsite.com/newsletter/image1.jpg" alt="alternate description of your image">
7) open the newsletter with working external images in Chrome or Firefox. Select the entire page content (ctrl-a), and copy it (ctrl-c).
8) create a new email in your mail client. Place the cursor in the body. Paste the newsletter (ctrl-v).
9) send your newsletter to hundreds of recipients, and get blacklisted by several email servers. Receive warning messages from your own hosting provider not to spam other users' email accounts.
10) realize this is too much of a hassle, and instead opt for a service such as MailChimp.
(The result in (9) depends on whether you sent out your newletter only to acquaintances, or not. But even then you might be warned off.)
Btw, many email clients turn off images in an email by default. You must provide the most important content as html, not as images. -
PDF Attachment problem in Adobe form and send mail is not working

Recently i'm facing a problem regarding Adobe form PDF attachment and sending an e-mail along with the PDF attachment to customer mail id.But when i execute the RFC Function module, in customer side no mail is comming. And when i check the transaction SBWP then i found that the PDF attachment hold only 1KB of data which is not right.For that i'm sending my code which i was declared in my program.Can anybody please help me to overcome this problem?
