Iphoto pics emailed too small

Pictures emailed from my Mac on Iphoto 08 are too small even though I sent them 'actual size.'  Sent as 5.7MB, received as 151KB.

Add a photo to an Email and look at the bottom right of the Mail window. See the size indicator lower right?

  • FONT OF INCOMING EMAIL TOO SMALL

WHEN I GET AN INCOMING EMAIL, THE MESSAGE IS ALMOST TOO SMALL TO READ. I'VE GONE TO VIEW-ZOOM-TEXT ONLY-ZOOM IN. I DO THIS A COUPLE TIMES AND I CAN READ IT, BUT, THE REST OF THE TEXT GETS TOO BIG. SO WHEN I'M DONE READING, I HAVE TO UNDO WHAT I DID.

THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH. FUNNY HOW JUST A LITTLE CLICK CAN MESS UP EVERYTHING. THEN YOU FORGET ALL THE THINGS YOU DID TO TRY AND SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE A TENDENCY TO TRY STUFF AND NOT REMEMBER ALL THE THINGS I CHANGED. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY WEB PAGE LOOKS LIKE A BUNCH OF BLUE LINES AND NO COLOR OR LINES OR BUTTONS WHERE THEY BELONG. NOW THAT IS SCARE Y. I DID MANAGE TO FIX THAT, AFTER ALMOST HAVING A HEART ATTACK, OR PANIC ATTACK. THANKS AGAIN

  • Keynote Send to iPhoto creates images too small for iBooks

I like using iBooks, but the layout flexibility is too constraining for what I do. I like to do my layouts in Keynote (because I get freedom of layout, cool themes, and I can them use the Keynote as a presentation) then I send to iPhoto. In the past, this has worked fine and the resolution has been suitable. Now (perhaps with 08) the resolution is about half what it used to be, too low for a good print job. While images used to be on the order of 1.8MB each, now they are 325k to 500k. I'm sure if I order such an iBook, my client will not be pleased with fuzzy text and photos.
I have tried pdf to iPhoto, same results. I've tried export to desktop, same results. I've selected jpeg (highest quality), same results.

    Hi Larry,
Thank you for your reply. I apologize for not adding more details. The photo I originally sent as a "large" file was 414 KB. When I switch to "actual" it is 2.3MB which I am assuming will work for the publication. I am only sending one photo at a time – one for each article. Thank you again. I expect the photo editor will let me know tomorrow if they have what they need. Fingers crossed.
By the way, in addition to iPhoto I also have Lightroom but have not had a chance to learn the basics of using it. As of now my entire library is in iPhoto and Picasa.
Thank you again for your time,

  • Font size in email too small

All of a sudden the font size in the email app is small. It's as if each mail has been zoomed out. I upgraded to iOS 4.2 a few days ago, but this just started happening today. It is not dictated by the setting for minimum font size. I have never changed that setting and it's set to medium.
If I reboot the phone, the font size goes back to normal for awhile, but then gets small again. Any ideas?

Well, when it is happening it happens to all emails in the email app. The behavior is very strange. Again, it's as if all the emails are zoomed out. The only way to fix it that I can see is to hold the power button down and reboot the phone. When it comes back up it's normal....for awhile. I haven't figured out what triggers the behavior.

  • Pics too small

how do i change the size of the pics in airprint from my iphone? when i eprint with iphoto the pics are full size and thats what i want. but if i use airprint on my iphone the pics are too small? any suggestions?

When you drag and drop an image into Mail, a drop down menu will appear in the lower right of the composed message window. If you want to attach the image in its original size and resolution, choose "Actual Size."
It seems like this selection is saved, and all future drag-n-drops of image will use this new size setting.

  • Email pix resolution too big or too small...for starters

I use Entourage. With new iPhoto, it bypasses Entourage and sends via my POP account. Still, iPhoto doesn't give me any record of sending out pictures via email. AND, I can't even determine a proper size of resolution. I went with the first choice 'Better Quality.' Feedback from the other side told me they wished pictures were bigger. My only other choice then is ACTUAL size. So, I try to send 4 pix which ends up being about 20 MB. I get a warning how this might not work for my recipients, but press OK.
Why is such a drag to send JPEGS now in iPhoto? I really despise it, and have so far discouraged anyone who asks me about iLife '11. I wish I could like it. Any suggestions?

If you don't like the new ways that iPhoto handles emailing then you can access the old way with a small change in how you work:
    1. Drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Mail icon in the Dock.
    or
    2. Use the Photo browser in Mail - or any Media browser in the entire OS
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can then resize the image in the iPhoto Window
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
Finally, you can make a simple OS Service to to automate the procedure. For more on this have a read of this:

  • Re: iPhoto. iBooks. Font is too small for me to edit. Any solutions?

Re: iPhoto,iBooks. I am making a book for someone using Old World Travel.  There are several spots in the book for text, but even using the largest font available is too small to edit or check spelling.  Help?

If you have topics with different backgrounds, check that they all have the same CSS file applied to them. Are there Master Pages on your topics? You could try copying in a backup CSS file but I doubt this would make any difference if it is exactly the same. Could you look inside the HTML for one of the topics and see if anything is amiss there.

  • IPhoto file too small for publication

I am writing a series of gardening articles for a national publication and was told the size of the photo (from my iPhoto library) I e-mailed is too small. Will changing the size from "large" to "actual" do the trick? Or do I need to send it through Dropbox or another application? Many thanks, Lynn

  • In iPhoto 11 imported tiff files remain tiff after editing.  I need to convert to large file jpegs. How? using the "export" function they become too small

I thought imported tiff files would be converted by iPhoto to JPEGS in previous versions of iPhoto.  this might have been a disadvantage but my current project requires JPEGs as the final product.
    thanks for any guidance
    Jim

Drag the photo from the iPhoto window to the desktop or export as kind = JPEG
As to too small - what is too small?  The pixel dimensions of the exported JPEG will be identical to the original TIFF - the file size is smaller because JPEGs are compressed - which of course reduces file size - which of course is the reason that JPEG exists

  • The JPEG attachemnet in email from InfoView in BOE X3.1 is too small

We are running BOE X3.1 sp2 in a Windows environment.
A person logs into InfoView and runs a Crystal report. The person then chooses to send it by email.
The email is sent but the JPEG attachment is too small and blurry.
Is there a setting to increase the size and/or decrease compression on the attachment?

Depending if you want or not to include fraction of a second use:
    with t as (
               select  current_timestamp at time zone 'gmt' - to_timestamp_tz('01/01/1970 00:00:00 GMT','MM-DD-YYYY HH24:MI:SS TZR') interval_diff,

    select  cast(

  • IPhoto library too small?

Trying to transfer iPhoto library 09.  To external harddrive.  The file transfer goes fast and the size is 237mb.  That seems MUCH too small for  the amount of photos that I have.  How do I make sure everything is ok?
2 years ago I got a MacBook Air with newer iPhoto which took a copy of iPhoto library converted it to lion and that file is 65 gb.  Since then there has been more added to the old iPhoto 09 library so I don't understand how it can be less than 1gb even with compression.
    Please help

What size is the iPhoto library on your main disk before transfering it? Yes 237 MB is very small - but with nno actually information about what you are doing (lots of information about things that have no bering on the question) it is impossibel to tell
the correct way to transfer an iPhoto library is
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

  • How do I change the font on incoming email in Windows Live--it is too small in Firefox

I can change fonts in outgoing emails, and on website screens, but the incoming emails in Hotmail and Windows Live it is way too small to read. It is fine in Gmail. Can you tell me how to change this to a readable font. Using the Tools option does not work.

  • "Large" email photo attachments too small

For no apparent reason my email photo attachments are now too small. "Actual size" will render a 4Mb jpeg true to size. However, Large, Medium and Small give a 10 Kb image. This was never the case until just recently. I've just realized that the screen grab below is also very small.  Cheers, jp

My apologies - I have discovered that the issue is not apple related but caused by a new RAW converter I am using. Cheers, jp

  • Can I attach pics from iphoto to email?

I have been trying to attach pictures from iphoto to emails but can only get them to sow up as full pictures in the body of the email instead of as attachments to the email.  Is it possible to do this?

That's a setting in Mail. Try right click on the pic and select 'Show as Icon'
