Iphoto pour max OS X 10.6.8

Hello, i lost iphoto for my mac OS X10.6.8 and ican't find or buy a new iphoto. Please, how can i do ?

Did iPhoto 7 (08) come preinstalled on your Mac?  If so then you should have a set of system and application installation disks that came with the Mac.  Use the software install disk to do a custom installation of iPhoto.  The disk should look like one of these:

how to install iphoto in max 10 6.8 ater putting in a new hardrive so i can put back my photos?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you purchased iLife on a disc or your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Applications DVD or Mac OS X Install Disc 2 and install iPhoto performing a custom install. Then, open  > Software Update, and install the latest version.
If you purchased iPhoto in the Mac App Store, the most recent version isn't compatible with your Mac OS X version, so you will have to upgrade OS X if you want to install iPhoto from the App Store

  • Iphoto pour OS 10.5.8

    Hello,
iphoto has disepeared from my computer, my mac book was delivered without dvd to re-install it, and no support files available.
How can I install iphoto back to my computer, without changing my operating system, which is OS 10.5.8 ?
    thanks

Phone AppleCare and order replacement original disks, and if desired, buy an iLife 09 or earlier DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.

  • Iphoto 08 max photos

what's the maximum number of photos iPhoto can handle? I have about 15,000 photos and half of them are RAW files from a Canon 20D.
I plan on shooting 90% of my photos in the future in RAW mode. is there a limit to when it starts to really crawl?
(i have an iMac 2.8ghz with 2gb ram)

iPhoto is advertised to handle 250,000 photos. Since iPhoto creates a jpg of the raw file for viewing and editing, you should be able to handle quite a few. The primary restriction will be hard drive space. It's strongly recommended to maintain a minimum of 10 GB free space, more is you'll be doing some high powered editing, i.e. Photoshop.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

    Bjr !
une des réponses lues est one of answers is: utiliser, use  sofware Update ... well well ??? Where is it ? apple store ? other place ? not very precise ...
Why not say it before updating ? :(((  that is not cool at all.

  • IPhoto '11 very slow and unresponsive - unusable, please advise!

I am having some problems with iPhoto '11. When I try to scroll through the image thumbnails, it often stops with a spinning beachball then I have to wait 10-20 seconds for it to catch up.
Also when I hit space to bring up the full image from a thumbnail, it appears then I get a spinning beachball and have to wait 20-30 seconds, after which the multi-image-scroller at the bottom appears and everything is responsive again.
When I look in Activity Monitor I can see that iPhoto is maxing out the CPUs (one of them at a time, it seems).
Together these two issues mean that it is unusable.
As to the possible cause, I have two theories
    1) It could be a recent iPhoto 11 update I installed
    2) It could be because I recently imported a large number of photos (an extra 50Gb) which may have taken my iPhoto Library above some maximum threshold. (Does anyone know if there is a recommended maximum size?).
My iPhoto Library contains 80,000 photos (some of which are actually videos) and takes up about 300Gb. It is located on my external 750Gb Iomega drive, connected via USB (I don't have room on the hard drive for the library). I did not experience these issues a few days ago, and I had about 250Gb library/72,000 photos then.
Having read the forums it seems that I may need to do one of the following
    - Split the library into smaller libraries (which would be a pain, but might allow me to be productive again)
    - Figure out a way to get the library on a faster drive... perhaps upgrading my internal drive to a larger one or SSD and put it on there
    - Wait for Apple to improve performance of iPhoto
    - Revert back to iPhoto '09
    - Find an alternative product that can manage large libraries better... Is Aperture any good? Are there other good products?
    - Some other solution I don't know about.
Since there are many possible ways forward I would appreciate some advice, anything you think would help, as well as any suggestions and/or officially supported methods.
    Thanks in advance

    Thank you for your reply.
I tried deleting the cache files and it made no difference.
I'd already waited for the new Faces to be scanned.
However, I found your response in another thread suggesting rebuilding using iPhoto Library Manager to create a new library.
I did this, and it took over 48 hours to complete but it did the job nicely. It ported everything across - images, keywords, albums, even faces. It also found 13Gb of duplicate photos I didn't know about!
The only thing I had to do was recreate my smart albums.
But now my new iPhoto Library runs smoothly and I can work again! Awesome!
    Thanks.

  • IPhoto in Mavericks not responding

iPhoto was doing fine until today. It launches but when I try to do anything with Slideshows it freezes and will not respond.  I force quit and relaunch but the same thing happens.  Can I re-install iPhoto without losing my thousands of photos and/or slideshows?  Can iPhoto max out on space?  Thanks

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.
Yes, iPhoto can max out on sapce. It's limited to 1,000,000 items

  • Iphoto and panasonic lumix dmc-fz28 raw (.rw2) files support

It appears that iphoto or max osx does not currently support the panasonic lumix dmc-fz28's raw format (.rw2). Is this true? If so, does anyone know when support will be available? If it is supported today, how do you make it work?

Since even the most recent updates to iPhoto do not contain DMC-FZ28 importers for RAW, I use the free and EXCELLENT +RAW Photo Processor+ ( http://www.raw-photo-processor.com ).
For a donation (I gave $10) it will add the feature to open the converted image into the program of your choice. Of course I use iPhoto, which it automatically launches and then imports the image to it's database. Since it also has both batch capability and the ability to pick the image next to the last RAW image in the directory of your previous photo, it's great for importing large numbers of RAW images into iPhoto.
And the control it gives over your import is incredible, certainly on par with Adobe RAW.
I actually found the settings I like best and saved them as a profile for my camera (it works automatically for all Lumix cameras, but you can tweak them quite finely).
Another nice thing about this little app is it is both multicore and multiprocessor savvy. Since it allows you to pick apps to open the imported images in, there's no limit to the the programs you can chose to add to your drop-down list.
It solved the problem for me!

  • Iphoto ne s'ouvre pas!

    Message :
"impossible d'ouvrir Iphoto pendant sa mise a jour" !!
    Que faire?
J'ai redémarré plusieurs fois, rien a faire...
    merci!

Have you updated iPhoto to version 9.5 via Software Update? I think you need that for it to work in Mavericks.

Select the iPhoto application in the Finder and open the Info window. What are its "Kind" and "Version"?

  • Is there a maximum number of events or photos?

I loaded some pictures to Iphoto tonight and they are not showing up in my events or in photos but do show last upload.  Have a reached a max or is there some other problem.  I have completed all updates to iphoto.

No max for events as far as I know - 1,000,000 for photos - I ahve just over 1000 events and aboutg 56,000 photos
You issue is either a sort problem or a camera data problem - the photos are there just not where you expect them
Select one in last import and show event - and look at the date
Odds are since you do not find then in either events or photos that your camera date is wrong
To correct this first reset your camera correctly - then in iPhoto use the adjust time and date command - you can make a smart album for the  camera to find them
If it is instead a sort problem set the correct sort under the view menu

    MErci d'avance
