IPhoto prints photos in grayscale. Other apps print them in color.

If I print photos from iPhoto to a color printer (HP Photosmart 3300), they print as grayscale. They show as color in the print dialogs and in print preview, but they physically print as grayscale. If I print the same photos using Photoshop or Safari (for example) they correctly print in color. The photos have an RGB profile and the printer seems to have the right colorsync setup (printer setup utility, then printer utility to check). As I said, other apps print in color fine; only iPhoto doesn't.
Any suggestions please?

Re-installing does not affect your Library in any way. You don't delete it, only the app.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

How to print Photo Info in the Custom Print Package

I am using LR CC, latest version on a Windows7 PC.
I am trying to print Photo Info in the Custom Print package. I have no trouble selecting Photo Info in the Single Image/Contact Sheet Layout Style, but when I switch to the Custom Print Package, the Photo Info check box in the Page panel, disappears. I can't find any reference to this in the manual as to why this would occur, or not be available.
Appreciate any help with this matter.

IPhone 6plus camera freezes when trying to take photos from within other apps

Hi, 8.1 6Plus, my regular camera turns black screen when trying to take photos from within other apps or sometimes between photos in the regular camera app. I can still take a photo, I just have no idea what I'm seeing or taking a picture of. Then when I press retake (in other apps) the screen comes back on and it works. Its annoying more than anything else. Any ideas? Have done the whole close apps/restart process.

What version of iPhoto? How much disk space did you have before deleting things?

HP1050A only prints photos in grayscale

I have a strange problem with my HP 1050A all-in-one. It will only print images in grayscale. If I print text in colour, it prints in the right colour. If I print a test page, the Windows logo prints in colour. If i print a diagnostic page, the colours print correctly. If I print an image, it is always in grayscale. The "Print in grayscale" option in Advanced Printing Preferences is set to "Off". HP diagnostics can find nothing wrong, nor can Microsoft's Printing Troubleshooter.
Anyone here got any ideas about this?
I use Windows 7 64 bit on a home-built PC.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see when you print photos to your HP Deskjet 1050A it only prints in grayscale. All other prints, print with color, test pages, documents etc.. The grayscale options are set to off. To better help you please leave me with the following information:
1. Which program are you printing photos from?
2. Do you get any error messages, on the Computer or Control panel of the DJ 1050?
3. What are the estimated ink levels for all cartridges?
4. Are you able to make a Color copy?
5. Are you connected USB or Wireless?
6. Have you ever been able to print color photos?

Printing in Safari or Mail causes them to crash, other apps print fine

Hello,
I recently got an Intel Core Duo Mac Mini. When I try to print a Mail message or a Safari screen the respective program immediately crashes. Printing from other apps, such as Endicia (postage labels) works fine.
Anyone seen something like this before?

Printing from abiword and other apps

this is my first post and i'd like to start off by saying that this distro is amazing! i love it!
when i first decided to install it, i thought i might not be able to do it as i am such a dumb-user... but actually, installing it was extremely easy!
i've been using archlinux for a couple of weeks now but i haven't solved all my problems yet...
the most annoying is printing.
i installed cups and set up my printer. it works just fine from OpenOffice but i don't know how to set abiword and other apps (such as xfprint) to print from the same printer.
when i try from abiword, i can only print using lpr and that doesn't work. what should i do to make abiword see my printer?

the printer is an epson stylus color 400 on a parallel port and is set up properly with cups and the driver i've always used (gimp-print). the program i'm trying to print from with no success is abiword.

Too much red when printing photo on e-All-in-One-C310. Color profile needed.

I just bought e-All-in-One-C310 and tried to print some photos - every time there is too much red color. Inks (cartridge) are HP original, paper is also from HP (Advance HP photo paper). OS - Windows 7.
It seems that I need a color profile but I can't find one on HP web-site. Can anyone help me?

HT1694 Cannot email photo from photo stream and other apps.

My email works okay within hotmail, but not in my actual mail app, I cannot email from my photo stream or any other apps that you can send email from, any ideas?

Connecting to your Hotmail account without using an email client is different from connecting to the account with an email client. There can be a problem with the account's incoming and outgoing mail server that would not affect being able to access the account via webmail using a browser.
Try deleting and recreating the account with the Mail app.
If the account settings are not confirmed/accepted when doing so, you need to contact Hotmail technical support.

Acrobat X freezing when printing from IE and other apps

Since the last update, each time I try to print to .pdf while in Internet Explorer, or other Microsoft applications, it will not print to file AND it freezes the application (I am left with a print window frozen AND the application frozen). Any ideas? Thank you.

Macbook won't print in color printer is fine and other mac prints color

My HP color printer test pages fine and prints fine with an old imac I have, but my macbook pro sents photos, pages docs, pdfs, etc and they all come out black and white. I can't find any printer setting that is messed up and the docs are in color on my computer, I've looked in the HP utility as well as system preferences print&fax -- in pages, preview, iphoto, they all look fine, but prints B&W. I normally use wireless networking but have pluged the pirnter diredctly into my machine and the same problem exits. It's solated to my macbook pro. I have a b&w laser printer on the network that is fine.
oh, and yeah--this used to print in color and worked fine for about a year, now it doesn't.

From reading your post it sounds like a driver issue. Can you confirm the driver you are using. This can be determined by opening Print & Fax, selecting the HP in the printers list and then opening Options & Supplies. Under the Driver tab you will see what driver you are using.
Now for your information, if you were using the Generic PCL Laser printer, this will only print in b&w. So you would need to change this to the HP8500, or if your printer supports Postscript, you could select the Generic Postscript driver and see if this also prints in b&w.

Printing photos to a non "Airprint" printer?

Jazyus, what a dummy I was! I fell for the hype and bought an iPhone because it would easily integrate with my Macintosh computers.
Yeah... IF you have all the very latest hardware and software. At least a Duo-Core processor (or you can't run the OSX version that supports iCloud) and a very new printer that supports AirPrint.
I got the phones New Years Eve. Spent most of today downloading apps (paying for a couple) and firmware patches, etc., etc.
I have two inkjet color printers, one a Canon i960, one a HP Photosmart Premium C390a (with both bluetooth and wi-fi). I have yet to successfully print ONE photo! And it's only by great fussing and fooling around that I was able to print monochrome text pages to the HP Laserjet 1390, and am not able to print two-sided to it.
All these printers work just fine from my MacBook laptop.
I feel really really ripped off here.
Oh, yeah, I can e-mail the photos to myself and print them from the laptop. But sheesh! All the stuff built into the &*@3$$$ phone, and they can't bother with support for devices that are supported by OSX. Yeah, I'm sure there's somekinda jailbreak solution, but I don't wanna hear how my warranty is no longer valid and I'm out $700 when it screws up.

There are plenty of apps in the app store that will permit you to do what you want, look for one.

IPhoto is in use by other app or unreadable

I have my iPhoto app and the library on an external HD. I got an error saying that the disk was improperly ejected( I didn't do anything) When I tried to re-open the app I get the message that my photo library is either in use by another app or has become unreadable. I have tried all the options it gives me yet nothing has made it work again. Any idea as to what is going on?

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library

IPhoto enlarges photo to size of app window - small images get super fuzzy

Just upgraded to iphoto 09 from iphoto 06.
In the old version a small photo (say 300 X 400px) would show up at its (small) full size when double clicked. Since the photo was fairly small it would not take up the entire application's window, it would simply show at 100% and there would be some blank area around it.
In the new version iphoto blows up the photo (beyond its full size) to fill up the application's window which, since it's much larger than the size of the photo, makes the photo super fuzzy and miserable to look at. I tried making the iphoto window smaller but it seems to have a minimum size that is still too big for some of these small photos.
Does anyone know how to get iphoto to stop blowing up the picture when I view it? I'm not trying to edit or crop - simply view the photo at its original size. Also, when the photos are double clicked the zoom bar grays out unless I click edit - which is not what i want to do.
