Iphoto project deleting
Hi, I deleted an Iphoto project (photolibrary) by accident, how can I restore it? I previously saved a pdf of the whole project but I need to have it in the original format again to be able to modify it. thanks a lot
Did you make a back up? The location of a back up and how to restore will depend on how you made the back up.

Project deleted in iPhoto 11 ver. 9.1.1
After spending three months building a twenty six page Book Project in iPhoto i added a page and later decided to delete the page. I selected the page, pressed the delete key and confirmed the delete dialog box ( i didn't read, dummy) by pressing the delete button. The whole project was gone, the undo menu was grayed out and there was nothing in the iPhoto trash about my Book.
Surly I can find this if I knew the path to find the project in a library on a back column I have of my hard drive.. Could anyone help me?Sorry I'm having a hard time getting this.
If I go to my hard drive BIGMAC>Library>Application Support>iPhoto>the only thing in this folder is Themes.
However, when I "Get Info" it's 580MB for 24,421 items. iPhoto says I have 35,977 photos. I would think the database would be into the GB for this many photos.
If I go to BIGMAC>system>Library>I find nothing about iPhoto
Is the iPhoto file in the Application Support the one I need to replace with my backup?

How do I import an Iphoto Project (book) directly into Aperture 2?
I have a book that I did as a project in iPhoto '08 that I would like to import directly into Aperture 2 and "redo" the book using Aperture's new features.
Although I imported my iPhoto library I don't seem to have this project in Aperture and when I look to export the project from iPhoto it wants to export it as a movie.
Since the photos from iPhoto are in Aperture I figured that importing the iPhoto project would be easy. I don't want to recreate the book again if I can help it - I just want to import and modify it in Aperture.
Is it possible to do and can anyone tell me how to do this?
Thanks,You CAN completely customize the text in iPhoto books, including left/center/right justifications, and it is fairly easy. Here's the workaround:
1) In your iPhoto book (or calendar or whatever) layout, highlight the text you want to modify or change its alignment.
2) Launch TextEdit and open a blank document. Paste the text from iPhoto into the document.
3) Still in TextEdit, highlight your text. Using ordinary word processing methods, modify or realign your text as desired. When satisfied, highlight the customized text and copy it.
4) Back in iPhoto, paste the newly modified text you just copied from TextEdit into the desired text box, overwriting (or deleting first) the original text. All the modifications you made in TextEdit should apply.
This trick can work wonders for helping make an iPhoto book completely your design.

when updating my ipad air to iOs 8 my 2 albums on iphoto were deleted since iphoto is no longer supported. Anyone similar experiences? Any chance to get back my albums (not only the pictures, but the actual album with text etc)?

Migrating from iPhoto for iOS to Photos on iOS 8 - Apple Support
The following data will migrate from iPhoto to Photos.
Any photos in your iPhoto library that aren't already in Photos are added.
Image adjustments you made in iPhoto are migrated to Photos.
If you applied image adjustments to photos synced to your iOS device from iTunes, a duplicate of each photo will be created in Photos with adjustments applied.
Photos hidden in iPhoto do not appear in the Years, Moments, or Collections views in Photos, but are placed in an album titled Hidden.
Photo Books, Web Journals, and Slideshows are converted into regular albums in Photos. Text and layouts are not preserved.
Only projects created on the device performing the migration will be converted. Projects you synced from other devices to iPhoto via iCloud must be converted from the devices on which they were created.
Photos marked as Favorites in iPhoto are marked as Favorites in Photos.
Tags and captions from iPhoto are not displayed in Photos, but you can use them as search terms and they will show up respectively as Keywords and Titles in Photos search results.
Flags from iPhoto are converted to the keyword Flagged. -
I have a macbook pro and I connected a new iphone to my computer. Somehow all my pictures in the iphoto app deleted. How can I get them back, and no I do not have my TimeMachine On. Please help!
If you are running Lion then all drivers are distributed through Software Update. You do not need to install anything, other than to install the printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan. If you already added the printer while it was connected using USB, you might want to delete it and set it up again wirelessly to avoid confusion. Or, give them two distinct names e.g. "Photosmart D110 (USB)" and "Photosmart D110 (wireless)".
All scanning functions are now performed using Preview, but you can also access the scanner through the same Print & Scan preference pane, or with Image Capture.

I just downloaded 950 photos on iPhoto and deleted them off my camera and now under last import there is only 4 photos and i can't find the others?? There is a whole bunch of blank events in the library with no photos in them all with todays date? Help!!
Yes - you need a min of 10 GB just to operate - with just 1 you certainly can lose photos and other critical things - you need to make space immediately - probably by moving your iPhoto library to a volume formatted Mac OS extended -
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

iPhoto '11 deletes albums, poof they're gone.
Perhaps not exactly the same fault but I have experienced two crashes while populating a particular album. After the crash, only the very first picture is left in the album. Furthermore, none of the pictures are in the "last 12 months" file. Worse: I cannot find the data file used by iPhoto. If I could find it, I might be ablle to recover from the backup disk. (I am 'populating' through drag and drop from a file folder).
The irony of this is that I am trying to assemble a simple slide show and I would normally do this by putting selected pictures into a file UNSORTED or, to use Apple's terminology: Arranged: none - but that doesn't work; the file is sorted on one of the parameters - name, size, type, etc - whether you want it or not. So I attempted to use iPhoto and have just lost three days work with, apparently, no way to recover in spite of having backup. -
I have iphoto 7, deleted my photos (now iphoto has grey boxes where images were). I've backed up on Iomega, and I can see the iphoto library there. But how do I get it back on iphoto? I dragged it into my hard drive, but iphoto still shows grey boxes.

How and why did you delete your photos?
How did you backup to the Iomega drive - Time machine - drag the iPhoto library - other backup program?

Downloading iPhoto after deleting it! oops, help!
I deleted my iPhoto cuz it was giving me trouble and I couldn't fix it. Now that I'm trying to find it on the apple web site to re-down load it I'm coming up with all these problems, first one was with the iPhoto 5 it wont up load cuz there is no trace of iphoto on my computer, then whe i try to do the old version of iphot it says there is alread an updated version on my computer but I cant find it! What to do cuz i have been working on this for days!
The version of iPhoto you deleted is available for free on the disks that shipped with your computer. But if you want to update iPhoto 5, you've got to buy it and install it first. iPhoto 5 is available as part of the iLife '05 software bundle

IPhoto 11 deleting sets from flickr
Recently upgraded to iphoto 11, and I am now regularly receiving notifications that iPhoto is deleting set XYZ from flickr even though I have not deleted anything (Flickr account is a Pro account). I see I'm not the only one with this issue, and it also seems that this problem extends back all the way to iPhoto 8 and 9. Not sure how such a fundamental problem hasn't been fixed yet, esp. since Apple shut down Mobileme galleries and effectively forced everyone to use Flickr. Anyone have any suggestions?
I believe this has to do with the restrictions from a free account. According to the link below, "On a free account, Flickr limits the number of photos displayed. If you have fewer than 200 photos, we display them all. If you have more than 200 photos, only the most recent 200 are displayed."
Check your photostream to see if the pictures are still there but the sets have been removed. If so, this is probably what happened. Hope that helps...
The site goes on to say: "It goes on to Your photos are not removed from Flickr, only from the list of your photos. If you blogged a photo and it no longer appears in your list, it will still appear on your blog, and the photo's Flickr page will still work just fine."

Iphoto is deleting photos off my camera card and phone etc. after I am downloading them onto my mac. After the photos are downloaded it asks if I want to keep them or delete them and even though Im saying that I want to keep them!. Any ideas?

IPhoto project export to iTunes disabled in Mountain Lion??
I am a bit frustrated. It seems that after upgrading to Mountain Lion I cannot export my iPhoto project to iTunes anymore. This is a pity because it is a nice way of bringing my projects with me (iPhone / iPad). Any suggestions?

iPhoto had an option to export a project to iTunes. I used this option a couple of times. Today I completed a new project. And then I thought it would be nice to export it to iTunes ..... I have searched al options, but this one seems to be gone! Even a workaround via PDF is not working.
This is the first time ever that I feel a bit frustrated on my mac... -
all my pictures in iPhoto got deleted and i don't know how to get them back so could anyone help me with that ??
We do need more information to help. Are the images gone from your iPhoto library, or is the iPhoto Library missing? How and when did this happen?
If images are missing from the library: Did you check for hidden photos? Did you check the iPhoto Trash?
If the pictures are still in the iPhoto Trash, open the Trash, select the images and and press the liitle arrow in the lower right corner - select "Put back".
If the pictures are still in an "iPhoto" folder in the system Trash (with sub folders named by date), import these folders to your iPhoto library.
Have you checked, if you have opened the correct iPhoto Library? Launch iPhoto with the options key held down, to select another Library.
If the entire Library is missing, have you searched for ".photolibrary" with spotlight?
Do have a backup?
If none of these easy measures helps, report back with more details - your iPhoto version, and anything else that might be helpful to find out, what the problem is. Don't do anything that changes the contents of your hard drive for now.

My computer is a macbook pro 10.5.8 and my iphoto randomly deleted from my computer. Any ideas how to get it back on?
Reinstall it from the computer's original disks or an iLife 09 or earlier install DVD, and then run all applicable iPhoto updaters.
