IPhoto screen-saver Slide show, where is it?

I'm looking for pictures that show in the Screen saver slide show but not in iPhoto or Aperture folders.
They were there last week.
Hoping for help!

I had a quick scan of those comments, and most of those are from more than 18 months ago. The comments from this year are either: factually wrong ("very few slideshow designs" - it has 35 or thereabouts) or complaints about the Upgrade policy.
There is no substitute for downloading and trying it yourself.
Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:
iMovie, on every Mac sold, as is iDVD.
Others, in order of price:
PhotoPresenter $29
PhotoToMovie $49.95
PulpMotion $129
FotoMagico $29 (Home version) ($149 Pro version, which includes PhotoPresenter)
Final Cut Express $199
It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs.
However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Express is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

  • HT204379 Choose how long each screen saver slide shows for?

There used to be an option to choose how many seconds each "slide" would show in Screen Saver. I don't see that option in Mountain Lion, only how many minutes until Screen Saver comes on. Is there still any way to do that?  My slides change more quickly than I want them to...

Thank you for the advice, but I think you misunderstood what I am trying to do.  I know about Home Sharing and have set this up along with many of my photo albums.  I can access them when my Apple TV is on.
I am trying to customize the screen saver for the Apple TV.  When I go into settings - Screen Saver, I get a list including National Geographic, Flowers, etc. and also My ICloud.  I choose My ICloud and it gives me two Options - Photo Streaming (which contains pictures taken in the last 30 days) and a second Option - Activity.  I am guessing this would allow me to use specific photos.   But it says "This album is empty."  I would like to use about 30 - 40 photos as my screen saver but have no idea how to get them into that Activity album.
I created an Activity Album in IPhoto, filled it with the photos I want to use, then tried to share it to ICloud.  The color wheel stays on for awhile which I thought  was indicating the transfer.  But I go back to Apple TV, turn it on, go to Settings - Screen Saver but it still shows Activity is empty.

  • E72 Screen Saver Slide Show Issues

I have my e72 setup to run a slideshow when it goes into power save mode...
It works fine but after awhile, it goes from slide show mode into displaying a "clock".
I would think it would just repeat the slide show over and over?
What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

There is a max of x (1?) minutes for the power saver.

  • Screen saver slide show keeps reverting to National Geographic photos?

Hi all - quick question about a minor annoyance.  I have the screen saver set to display photos from one of my iPhoto photo sets using the built in screen saver options.  For no apparent reason, it occasionally decides to stop displaying my photos and instead starts displaying the National Geographic photos instead, which is one of the options in the screen saver setup.  I can go to settings and change it back to my photos but it always seems to eventually go back.  I can't find any rhyme, reason or pattern to this happening - if its something that I am doing, I've got no idea what it could be.
Anyone have any idea how I might be accidentally causing this, or is this some sort of bug?  Any way to prevent it from happening?  Any help appreciated.  Not sure but I am pretty sure this did not happen before Yosemite.

  • Why does iPhoto Screen Saver say "The selected source contains no pictures"?

After upgrading to Lion, I noticed that I can no longer use iPhoto albums as a screen saver. At first when loading the Screen Saver preference page, the iPhoto Screen Saver doesn't show up at all. After a bit, I can see "iPhoto" as an option, but if I select it I see a message in the preview pane that says "The selected source contains no photos. Please choose a new source that contains pictures or add images to the source." There are of course plenty of images in iPhoto already. Any ideas?

I have had some similar problems.   I think mine were cause by "interference" from my Apple TV.   By any chance do  you have an Apple TV?    I first notice the problem after viewing photos on my Apple TV as a screen show.   When I was finished I just changed my TV back to the cable box, but did not do anything to the Apple TV.  When I had the problem I went back to the Apple and switched it to something other than photos.   Now my sceen saver shows photos again.    I am guessing that the Apple TV some how locks the file such that the screen save can not get to it.
    Good luck.

  • IPhoto Screen Saver Disappeared

I have iPhoto as my screen saver (the whole library, random order) and today suddenly it stared showing National Geographic photos.  I went into the Desktop & Screen Saver options, and iPhoto is not in the drop down list.  It _does_ appear in the Desktop options, but it does not appear in the Screen Saver.
Anyone have any ideas how I can get my iPhoto screen saver back?  I searched these forums but can't find any reports of the same issue.

Well, I broke down and upgraded to the latest version of iPhoto because I finally found a thread that said that this fixed it.  Sure enough, after I did that the "Photo Library" that Linc refers to re-appeared.  Apparently recently something happened with the previous version of iPhoto (I think I had '09) that took this out.  I  don't think I ran any software updates between when it was working and when it stopped working, and I'm not sure if upgrading to the new iPhoto actually was the issue or if upgrading caused something in the database to get repaired.  But the long and short of it is that upgrading did resolve the issue for me.

  • IPhoto 6.0 slide shows looks very distorted

I have a new 19'' widescreen TFT monitor on my mini mac and now my iPhoto 6.0 slide shows looks very distorted.
This widescreen TFT have a 16:9 aspect ratio (1440x900 pixel).
I found no setting in iPhoto for the screen with an 16:9 aspect ratio. There are only format settings for 16:10, iDVD or act monitor. But no one works fine!
Is there any possibility that I can show my "slide shows" in the correct format? (Also with black bars)
Can anyone help me fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance

I am experiencing a very similar problem. Michael, have you solved your issue yet?
With my setup (PowerMac Dual G4 533 MHz with an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX graphics card, and Gateway FPD2185W monitor, native display resolution 1680 x 1050), iPhoto slideshows show pictures off center (taking up the right 2/3 of the display and leaving the left blank). The entire picture is also not visible. I'm sure it is switching resolutions when doing the slideshow since when I stop the show, some of my apps are in different positions on the display. I have tried switching stuff in the preferences, as well as trashing my old iPhoto prefs file. Nothing worked.
Thanks in advance for any insights!

My screen saver is showing internet radio instead of pictures after the update. How do i turn it off? I have went thru every menu and have all the settings the way they have been Prior to the latest update. now the screen saver is always Internet radio instead of the normal screen saver.  Apple please Fix this annoyance....

If you are confident you have the screen saver set properly, try restarting the device.

  • Full screen background slide show

Trying to create a full screen background slideshow (workarround).
But when I create a widget slideshow 1920px pinned to the background everything is working fine until a change some settings.
Like No counter. Muse then adapt the size of the widget to far more smaller?
    More people this problem?

Here's a similar thread that should most likely answer any queries you may have in regards to getting a full screen background slide show working using a jQuery plugin - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5330925.

  • Picture Screen Saver to show iPhoto's caption and date?

The Picture Screen Saver has the option to show name and date of a photo. But instead of using iPhoto's title and image date it uses only the file name and file date.
Is there a way to show the image date and title caption (both part of the EXIF data)?

This is certainly a possibility but not very convenient as I have to enter and maintain all that info twice once in iPhoto and then in Finder.
But it may be the only option unless Apple is prepared to enhance their Screen Saver app.

  • IPhoto Screen Saver with ghost images over teh top

I'm using iPhoto 5 and have the screen saver on my iMac G5 set to play out of my photo album. Just about every 10-15 phots get overlayed with a blurred image from some unknown source. They look like flags but always in a circular shape....not sure where they come from. Anyone else have this experience?

It is very weird, especially weird that two posters had that happen. I read in your other post about a long quitting time for iPhoto. I do know that my library of 3500 does take awhile to quit, but I have never had to force quit it. by the way, force quitting can damage a data file and cause the library not to open or show your photos.
I suggest you next do a rebuild.
    Try this:
Before doing a rebuild make sure iPhoto's trash bin is emptied. You can do this by control clicking on the trash bin, or from the menu bar under iPhoto.
    Close iPhoto
    Duplicate the iPhoto Library folder
Drag the duplicate to the desktop (hopefully you have enough room on your hard drive for the duplicate.)
Launch iPhoto holding down the Command and Option keys until you see the rebuild options screen.
Choose the first three options. If you were missing photos in your library, also choose the last option. Be advised that you will get a roll of orphaned photos and it might be quite huge. Most of them will already be in your iPhoto library, but use caution when deleting anything from this roll until you are sure the photos are still in your library in another place. It might be a good idea to share/export this roll of photos just in case you need to import them again.
Back to the rebuild, depending on the size of your library it might take some time. When it is done, hopefully your photos will be there.
You might see some unexpected results as I did when I did a rebuild. Photos had been moved to wrong dates, video clips had lost their duration info and some were even orphaned from the jpg pointer file. It took me some time to straighten it out again.
This is the reason to make a duplicate before you rebuild, in case you do not like the result. If you don't like the result, close iPhoto, then delete the rebuilt library and drag the duplicate back into the Pictures folder making sure the name is iPhoto Library. Launch iPhoto and it should open the library in the Pictures folder.

  • Rotating images in iphoto & screen saver questions

    hi there!!
i'm a newbie to apple discussions! too bad i didn't find out about it BEFORE i broke the cardinal rule and lost nearly my WHOLE library very comforting to see that i'm not the only one ;_
    anyway, here are my questions:
    1. when i import images into iphoto library, the vertical ones automatically show up in the upright position in the library. BUT when i switch to the edit window they show up sideways. the same is true when i use my iphoto library/folders as a screen saver: even though they are upright in the library, they are being displayed sideways. if i rotate them inside the edit window into the upright position, they show up sideways in my library. it seems like either way i can't win.
    2. when i use iphoto library or any of my albums as a screen saver, the slideshow plays for a little while and then stops. i mean, not longer than 2 or 3 minutes long. and sometimes i won't start at all. any ideas??
    thank you much!!!

What version of iPhoto 5 are you running? The iPhoto 5.0.4 Updateupdate fixes that problems.

  • Annotated iPhoto screen saver

In Lion I could annotate photos using Options in the screen saver preferences.  In Mountain Lion how do you do this, if it can be done.  I do not see an Options menu.  I would like to show the name and date of the photo.

  • Iphoto screen saver is gone

I just got my Macbook Pro and migrated from my old powerbook.
The screen saver I run is the one that displays iphoto pictures and I had it filtered to show the last 12 months pictures.
That is gone now in sys prefs. The only option in screen savers is 'pictures folder' and that is displaying all of my pictures going back to the 90s.
How do I get the 12 month filter back?
    Thanks

My System Prefs includes the various iPhoto albums. You might try launching iPhoto, select the album you want, then click the Desktop button at the bottom of the window. Then launch System Prefs and see if the iPhoto albums now show up in both Desktop and in Screensaver.
