IPhoto send to iWeb

Hi,

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Why not do it from iWeb. Put the photos you want to add into an album. Go to iWeb, select the photo page and open the Media pane. find the iPhoto album you created and drag it into the photo page.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • "sharing" pages from an iphoto book to iweb

Hi - I am trying to take pages of my photo book from iphoto and publish them to my website. Whenever I try to 'share' these pages (share-send to iweb-photo page) the photo page part is greyed out. It will only allow me to do it with one picture not a page from my book.
    thank you!

  • Music on iPhoto album on iWeb

I've added music to an album of vacation photos.
When I click "share", then "send to iWeb"....it will not allow me to publish the album.
If I remove the music, I can publish.
Any way around this?....would like my viewers to have more than just photos

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. When you sent it to iWeb you have to pick one of two page types, photo or blog. The photo page which produces a slideshow does not have the option to have audio with the slideshow. However, some have added an audio track to the photo page, set it to auto-start so it will be playing the entire time the visitor is viewing that page, even when the slideshow plays since it's in a new window. That's the closest you can come to what you want except for creating a Quicktime file of the slideshow with music and adding it to an iWeb page or web gallery. But it will be pretty large file.

  • IPhoto Gallery in iWeb

When adding an iPhoto Gallery to iWeb, the images are slightly cropped, which make them unacceptable. Is there any way to resize the images shown in the little gallery viewer?

The photo gallery preview window is set for landscape. You'll have to get on to ...

You might be able to depending on the age of the disc and the model of your newer used iMac. Only way to tell is to pop in the DVD and see if you can install the iLife programs.

  • New MacBook Pro appearing with Iphoto, Imovie and Iweb all 2008 versions

I bought a MacBook Pro in March 2013 (new from best buy) and it's running os x 10.8.4. However, for some reason the Iphoto, Imovie and Iweb are all 2008 versions. I used an external hard drive to transfer from my old macbook to the new macbook. What went wrong? Why wasn't the new version of Iphoto, Imovie and Iweb on my computer?
Should I back up onto my external again and reinstall? I had a lot of trouble transfering the data over in the first place because some security software from my school was messing with the transfer, however once it was deleted everything went smoothly. Thoughts?

You migrated your files from an older computer. If you migrated apps, iLife applications were transferred, so you have an old iLife edition.
The only thing you have to do is to open Finder, choose Applications in the sidebar and delete iLife apps. Then, open the App Store, go to Purchases tab and download iLife applications free of charge. All Macs come with iLife applications free of charge

  • IPhoto resizing to iWeb

I know if I highlight photos in iPhoto and send them to iWeb via the Share button, it reduces the size.
But if I add photos to an exsisting album on iPhoto, then want to add them to the cooresponding album in iWeb will iWeb resize them if I use the "Media" button at the bottom right and drag and drop the new photos into the exsisting iWeb album?
Or do I need to do a resize a head of time.
    Thanks,
    Allie

Thanks, That was what I was hoping to hear. I can import the photos into iPhoto, make albums, then send a whole album to iWeb. If I have photos to add at a later date to one of the existing albums, I can get it into iPhoto, then drag and drop from the iWeb media button to the cooresponding album in iWeb.
    Appreciate the info.

  • Iphoto to .mac/iweb - subset of images?

Hi - if you have an 'album" in iphoto of let's say 300 images and you want to take 20 of them and send them to your .mac/iweb setup as an album, can you do it right from iphoto as is or do you have to take those 20 images, copy them or move them into a "new" album and then publish that? Thanks.
    Steve

    I don't use iWeb
to make an iPhoto web gallery of any set of photos select the photos you want in the gallery (it may be easier to make an album first but it is not necessary) and click on the web gallery button in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen

  • Send to iWeb - Photo Resolution

When I send photos to iWeb to make a Web Album, I've found that the software lower the photo's resolution to 800*600.
What can I do to increase the resolution to something like 1600*1200 (at least it's bigger).
    Thanks alot!

    2. Create photo page in iWeb and just drag and drop converted photos from the desktop into the page.
When you drag a full sized image file into an iWeb photo page it automatically gets resized down to an 800 pixel x 600 pixel x 72 dpi resolution that is a very good quality level and small file size. Unless you want a different pixel dimension, it's extra work to convert prior to using in an iWeb photo page.

  • IPhoto sends emails in Rich format even if the default format is Plain Text

Detailed Summary (wouldn't fit in the Topic Subject):
iPhoto will always send emails in Rich Text format even if Mail application is set to send all emails in Plain Text format. In other words, emails initiated from iPhoto ignore the selected Message Format setting in the Mail application.
    Description:
It is a better practice to email photos in the Plain Text format instead of Rich Text format so recipients using different email clients can easily download attached pictures as regular attached files.
The workaround is to change the email format to Plain Text before sending it. This wouldn't be such a problem if you could make this a permanent setting however this is not possible. The Mail application has a specific setting for this but iPhoto simply ignores it. This is the issue I am raising here.
    How to reproduce the problem:
    1. Open the Mail application (Assuming you already have an email account configured)
    2. Go to Preferences, Composing tab
    3. Change Message Format to "Plain Text"
    4. Optional step to verify that the Plain Text is now the default format: Start a new email. Click on menu Format and you'll see "Make Rich Text" available, which means the current email is in fact in Text Format. Close this email.
    5. Open iPhoto
    6. Select one or more photos and click on the "Email" icon on the lower right hand side
    7. A details popup will open, click on "Compose Message"
    8. The Mail application will open as well as a New Email window with the Subject field filled out and the selected photos in the email body
    9. Click on the menu Format
Expected: Th last option should be "Make Rich Text" indicating that the current email is in Plain Text format as determined by the Mail settings (steps 1-5 above)
Actual: Last option is "Make Plain Text" which means the current email is fact in the Rich Text format which does not match the Mail application settings.
Can we at least get an acknowledgement from Apple that this is a known issue? Also, is there a fix for this? It is not an acceptable solution to tell users to manually select Plain Text for every email. I am tired of asking people to resend emails that way. That is a workaround, not a solution.
    Test details:
    - Mail Version 4.4 (1082)
    - iPhoto Version 8.1.2 (424)
    - OSX Version 10.6.5

iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback to report a bug.
Can we at least get an acknowledgement from Apple that this is a known issue?
Need to ask Apple that one.
    Regards
    TD

  • How to send a iweb file or project via email?

I've done a web site using iweb. My client requested it so he can update and change it himself using iweb. How can I send it to him via email? I tried sending the "domain" file but it's not supported as an attachment. Is there a solution, or the only way is to copy it on a cd and mail it ?

Control-click that item in the Finder, compress or archive it, and attach the zip.

  • I hit iPhoto send and I get: The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination. -- then can't get back to re-enter, which was correct one in first place.

I have filled out an iPhoto "postcard" format with a message and photo, etc., and when I hit send, I get the message "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination." I hit OK but it does not clear to refill the log-in -- and I believe the info was correct to start. I'd like to save (and not have to re-crete) the card, but see no way of doing so, thus am fearful of closing it (for good).

in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
    OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

  • Trying to figure how photos "travel" from iPhoto to my iWeb photo pages

    Greetings,
I have I believe gotten t understand just about all I need for now about building web sites with iWeb and its templates (for now). Works well. I am publishing to my .Mac account (for now).
Now, I want to fully understand how photos albums/pages are kept up/coordinated, on my computer, on .Mac Gallery and on the actual .Web site (on .Mac)
Here what I have done so far in regard to posting and upkeeping photos (works well!):
Selected pics from iPhoto >>> Made albums on my MBP
    Published Albums on Web Gallery
    Built website with iWeb
Built photo pages/my album page (indexing)
Inserted my Web Gallery albums into my website
Published the whole thing on .Mac.
    My questions:
*1. Somewhere in Tutorials, it says that: "with .Mac Web Gallery, you can get the shots you wish you had by allowing friends to contribute photos (from their browsers, email). And, whenever new photos are added, they are automatically sinced to your iPhoto08 library".* I am assuming same should/would happen when my iWeb site viewers upload theirs pics (which I am encouraging!) to my Web galleries via my iWeb site. I do not see that happen however. Web gallery gets of course updated by such uploads, +but NOT iPhoto library.+
    2. Some other iWeb Tutorial states *"If you are a .Mac member, you can publish photos/movies from iPhoto and iMovie directly to your Web Gallery. When a Gallery photo album is updated, your website is updated automatically with the new content."*. In the case of my site viewers' uploads to my gallery, works OK, but +my site's pages do not show the new photos.+. Any way to better coordinate my .Mac Web galleries with my (also) .Mac Web Pages?
I hope this is clear enough. I have LOOKED for some more info/tutorial about iWeb/Web Galleries/Viewer photo uploads from my Web site, but have not founded anything specific.
    Thanks for any advice!

_*Thanks a lot, Wyodor for your detailed reply.*_
It just happens that I have gotten quite fond of the way iLife as a suite - along with its online (.Mac in my case) components) seem to keep a good, purposeful flow of things going.
So, indeed, as I am currently looking at the stuff on my .Mac site, Web GAllery and My Pages respective materials are not actually linked in terms, especially, of allowing Web Gallery albums' updates to "flow" into My Pages areas.
Too bad in a way! Unless I decide to use the Widget feature in iWeb to link my website photo pages specifically to Web Gallery albums - as suggested by Roddy. Currently I use iWeb template system - with Photo Pages and MyAlbums index.
    You stated:
+"Your iWeb page shows the tiny player with your dotMac Webgallery.+
+Click on the tiny player, and the full Web gallery opens."+
    Where is that button actually?
"Your iPhoto library will be update updated vice versa."
I'll have to check that out then!
    Thanks again!

  • How to use photos from a *shared iphoto library* in iWeb's Photos page

I have a large library of pictures in iPhoto. I am sharing it with my wife's Mac on our LAN. She would like to use many of these photos on my Mac in an iWeb page. We're both using 10.4.10 with G5s.
When we try to drag them over from my shared iPhoto library, we get the following error:
"Some items can't be used because you don't have enough access privileges or because they contain no content or they are corrupted.
    unable to add object
    unable to add object"
Sometimes it imports only the name of the picture to the iWeb page.
Is there a way around this? I tried messing with the Get Info "Permissions" section of my iPhoto folder. But nothing seemed to change.

    iPhoto can not merge libraries
And you must NEVER Import an iPhoto library - it does not work and creates a massive mess
To merge libraries you must either use Aperture (being phased out this year) or the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -
Or continue to have two libraries and switch between them

  • How to publish iphoto slideshows to iweb?I

I want to publish slidshows that I made in iphoto on my website. Each time I try to load the pages, they appear to load, then I get a message saying that "work will continue for several minutes behind the scenes . . . leave this application open." After a long while, I receive a message saying my pages didn't load . . . "check your internet connection."
How do I get the slideshows onto my webpage with a reduced file size. I suspect that the slideshow files are too big. I see the slideshow folders in my movie/media list as .mov files, but I can't open the slideshow folders in imovie to reduce the file size in quicktime. When I try to click an drag them off the desktop or try to export them from iphoto to imovie to work with the file size, the folders just bounce right back.
    What am I doing wrong??
Also, I have a .com hosted with another host for my photography business. How do I link the slideshows to that website. I want to use the slideshows as a way to do a quick "proof session" with my clients.
    Thanks for the advice!

iPhoto gives you three size options to export your slideshow as a QuickTime file.
The smallest is not very good but gives the quickest download time. Just because iWeb tells you a movie is too big doesn't mean you have to listen!
Its a trade off between quality and download time.
.Mac galleries, iWeb galleries and Photo pages all go to thumbnails and the viewer has to start the slideshow.
You are going about things the right way to get a slideshow only. Once you have loaded it onto the iWeb page you can go to the "QuickTime" inspector and select "autoplay" etc. and also drag the placeholder to whatever size you want.
