Iphoto ( sharing via email )

When I try to share a phot via email, iphoto still has old mail server details , even although i previously updated them in email preferences, how do i fix this ?

When I try to do this through the SHARE option in iPhoto I get the following error message.   Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?  I am on the latest version of iPhoto 9.6.1.  Thanks for any insight / help.
If recreating the account does not help, the reason may be two-step verification. Did you recently enable two-step verification for iCloud?
Are you sending from your iCloud Mail address?
If you had two-step verification enabled, you have to set up an app-specific password for iPhoto, if you want to use iPhoto as a Mail client.
See the post below:
Re: I am using iPhoto version 9.6 and I can no longer get an email sent with a photo attached. I get an error message saying the email did not go through because the server did not reply. I can send the photo with Mail. Help!in response to Gary Kissler
This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:
https://appleid.apple.com
Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).
And...voila' (I hope)

Hope some one knows the answer ... I have had so many problems with iPhoto since covering across to Yosemite.  This is the latest.
I am trying to share photos through iPhoto using e-mail.  This has only just stopped working 36 hours ago.  I have checked the e-mail server for incoming and outgoing issues by sending an e-mail and attaching a photo the usual way - no problem.  When I try to do this through the SHARE option in iPhoto I get the following error message.   Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?  I am on the latest version of iPhoto 9.6.1.  Thanks for any insight / help.

  • IPhoto and sharing via email

When I am sharing photos from iPhoto via email, I am only able to add one recipient at a time.  I there a setting somewhere that needs to be adjusted so that I can send a photo to more than one person at a time?

Just hit Return after you put in the first email address and then put in your next email address and so on...

  • IPhoto Sharing via Streaming Issues

    3300 Iphotos in total
    Sharing/streaming done from MacMini.
    Lasted software releases.
Sharing via streaming stops associating the photo with the stream. When you click on the photo with the info window it shows that photo to be associated with a sharing stream. When you click on the streaming link it goes to  that stream but the picture is not present.
I have not hit the apple limits posted, however did not find one that says the limit on the number of streams, I have 24.
I have deleted the sharing stream, rebuilt/repaired the data base with the option/command dbl click and still same problem. Waited an hour. Turned off sharing on associated device. These are not shared with the public and only with my own email so no one else involved.
This happened yesterday at about the same place in the photo process.  So I turned off and on sharing which deleted all my streams and started again this morning only for it to start again.

I'm waiting till the new Photos application for Macs and iPhones is released with the release of Yosemite next month.  That will change the game quite a bit.
Photos will come next year - a bit after the Yosemite release; http://www.apple.com/osx/preview/apps/  says:  "Photos in OS X is coming early next year."
I don't know if the fact that the Camera Roll is no longer in the Photos app on the iPhone is by plan or a glitch in the installation.
At first I thought both were still there, because my migrated iPhoto library is still showing "Camera Roll" and "Photo Stream". But that are the remnants of a nice app.
The new "Recently Added" album looks like the successor to both Camera Roll and Photo Stream. I think the Camera Roll Album is gone. The manual does not mention it once.  And the missing "My Photo Steam" must be a glitch. The manual says:
"All photos added to your Recently Added album—including screenshots and photos saved from email, for example—appear in My Photo Stream." How can photos appear in the My Photo Stream, if it is not visible?

  • Why can't I share iPhoto photos via email directly anymore?

In my work I often need to email photos. It's always been a snap with iPhoto's ability to share photos directly via email. However with my last system upgrade this important feature no longer works. It really adds a lot of time to my workday. Can this be fixed?

No one knows waht Apple will do and they are not here - this is strictly a user to user forum  --  this issue has not had a solution that I have seen - the wrokaround is to drag photos to outlook for full sized photos or to export to a desktop folder using the export size options and then attaching to Outlook mail from there
report the issue to Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback

  • Sharing via email says the server did not recognize the username and password  combination

I am trying to share photos in iPhoto via email (gmail) and it says the server does not recognize the username password combination. I have deleted the email account rebooted iMac and re-entered the gmail account info and I get the same message. I have confirmed the username and password are correct.

LarryHN I guess I should have clarified that. I did try it that way and I am able to email pictures with mail set as the email client. When I change it to iPhoto as the email client is when I get this message. I have the same setup on my Macbook and it works great for emailing pictures from iPhoto. Although I can send them through email client, I prefer doing it through iPhoto.

  • Acrobat hangs when sharing via email. Why?

I just installed the entire CC suite, including Acrobat 11 (or XI for you 1st century Romans out there). I was somewhat puzzled to see that when I select share by email the PDF still hangs with the spinning beach ball as it has for the two previous versions if not more. Is this a problem with Acrobat, MS Outlook or my particular set-up? It's hard to believe it would be with Acrobat because it has been a problem for at least the last three versions.
    Thanks for any help,
    Mike

So I'm the only person having this problem or am I the only person sending PDFs via email?

  • IPhoto sharing via Flickr

I just noticed the new iPhoto is uploading original sizes of my photos to my Flickr account eventhough I chose the "Web" size option. Not only is it doing that for the recent photos I uploaded, since its synced with my Flickr account, it went back to all the photos I have shared and added the original size!! The previous version of iPhoto allowed me to retroactively change the photo size option by just selecting the shared album and then going to share. That option is not there anymore!
I do not want the original size of my photos out there! Is there anyway I can change the share size to "Web" now?

  • How do i compress .mov files for sharing via email?

    "COMPRESS" is greyed-out/unavailable.

Do you really want to compress the jpeg or reduce the image size?  Those are two different things entirely.  To compress a jpeg while keeping the pixel dimensions the smae export out of iPhoto via File ➙ Export ➙ File Export  and in the Quality menu select the amouth of jpeg compression you need to make the file size smaller.
If you need a smaller picture export as above but set the size to Custom and enter the largest dimenion you want in the image. The image qualtiy will remain the same but the image will be smaller and, to some extent, so will the file size.

  • IPhoto sharing via messages not working

I always use to be able to share my photos in iPhoto by clicking share at the bottom to then send via messages, however this option is no longer available. Does anyone know why?

Yes there's Flickr, Facebook and iCloud however I always use to use Messages so I could share the photos directly to others' phones - it's this option/icon that has disappeared entirely. I don't know exactly when but it may have been post-Yosemite's installation.

  • Sharing photos from iphoto 11, why does the photo information not upload when I click with share via email?  How can I make sure the photo information and location are shared when the photo (s) are shared.

When I go to share photos in iPhoto 11, The photos transfer to the email I'm sending but the photo information and location don't.  The older version of iPhoto did it, why not this version?  What am I missing in the process of sharing via email?, Thank You.

When you share to email do you get the following dialogue:

  • Since upgrading to Mavericks, I can no longer share my documents via email.  It never gets to the mail page. Any ideas?

Once I upgrades to Mavericks, I first had trouble viewing my old documents saved in iCloud.  Apple Support phone call solved this.  Now I notice I cannot share any of my documents/pages via email.  It never gets past the "next" page for sharing via email.  Anyone with same problem?

I actually have the same problem, since I upgraded to Mavericks my MacBook Pro can't seem to find the Bose sounddock 10. Has anyone found a solution to this.
It still works with the iPhone 5
    Thank you

  • Share via email & twitter not working on iOS7

When I try to share via email in Safari the email never sends. I enter an email address that I know works, and it looks like it's sending but it never ends up in my mailbox. I've shared via email successfully from other apps (like Pocket) and I've checked the spam folder but the email doesn't appear to have ever actually been sent.
Oddly I also cannot send via Twitter from Safari or Pocket, both give me a "connection failed" error.
This has been happening since I got an iPhone 5c (running ios7) to which I restored the data & settings from my iPhone 4 running ios6).
    Help!

I have exactly the same problem. Do you (or has anyone else) figured this out? Thanks ...

  • AppleTV 2nd gen, iPhoto sharing, wireless

I see if I purchase an Apple TV 2nd generation, I can show iPhoto pictures on my LCD TV wirelessly that are on my Macbook Pro and use my iPad as a remote control to switch between pictures that will appear on the TV.
But what if I have iPhoto pictures on my Intel Mac Pro with no wireless card, can I set it's iPhoto preferences to share the iPhoto library, then use my Macbook laptop to subscribe to the Mac Pro's iPhoto library, and then have the AppleTV and my iPad show the pictures on my LCD monitor and use the iPad to control what pictures are shown wirelessly?
    Thanks

I think I found the answer to my question. I can stream photos from my iPad to the Apple TV and I dno't need to mess with iPhoto sharing via another Mac on the wireless network.

  • Yosemite. iPhoto has stopped sharing pix via email. Have tried removing and re-adding accounts. This is a new problem. What gives??

I recently had a new hard drive installed and upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.1 on a Macbook Pro. No problems for the first week, then iPhoto 9.6 stopped sharing pix via email. I tried removing and re-adding my accounts but that didn't help. Thanks in advance for any advice. Ra Buck.

PS. IPhoto doesn't seem to connect, but I'm not getting an error message.
