IPhoto shows less photos than are in my Facebook album

I have iPhoto 11, which shows one of my Facebook albums as only having 100 photos, but there are over 300 photos in there. How do I export all the photos from FB  to iPhoto?

Having this problem too, iPhoto uploaded all the photos in the wrong order. Looked at many forum threads and read that going to View, Sort Photos and Reset Manual Sort might fix the problem but its compounded in this case by the fact that despite iPhoto having uploaded 193 Photos its showing that there is only 100 photos in the online album. Tried rebuilding the DB to no avail, the problem is on multiple albums. Its embarrassing that photos have been uploaded in the wrong order, and for those who are going to say its FBs fault that they are in the wrong order, I dont agree. Many applications are capable of uploading in the correct order, iPhoto in previous versions could upload in the correct order and worse case scenario iPhoto could drip feed the photos to FB to ensure they appear in chronological order.

Do the photos display correctly in the media browser when the mail library ("iPhoto") heading is selected? If so, you could simply add the photos from the library rather than the specific album. Alternately, if you have to select your photos from an "album," you could try reselecting the photos in the main library in the iPhoto application and create a different album to see if all photos then show up in the secondary album in the iMovie media browser.
If the "missing" photos do not show up under the main "iPhoto" heading in the iMovie media browser and do not show up in the main library in the iPhoto application, then the files may be corrupted. In this case, simply re-import the original files if possible. You could also try to force a rebuilding of the thumbnail cache, but this is usually done automatically when the application itself detects inefficiencies in thumbnail access or when the application is updated. In any case, there does not appear to be a manual menu option to do this arbitrarily when the user so desires. I suppose you could try to locate and delete the cache manually and hope this forces an automatic rebuild the next time the iPhoto application is opened but I am personally not that familiar with the package structure to advise such action at this time. You might check the iPhoto forum and see if anyone can help you further in this area of endeavor.

  • Image capture and iphoto show no photos from iPod Touch

I am running OS 10.6.8 on my iMac and using iPhoto 7 and image capture. When I connect my iPod Touch (3rd generation) to my computer, both applications show my ipod as being connected, as does iTunes, but neither of the applications show the photos that are on my iPod. Normally I would be able to download them from my iPod, but they are not showing them, though they are clearly on my iPod.
What has changed? This has been working fine until now. Was it because of the iOS update?

You said " my iPod Touch (3rd generation) ". The 3G does not have a camera and thus does not have a Camera Roll album. It does have an album titled "
    Try:
iOS: Unable to import photos to computerSaved Photos".

  • IPhoto shows "No Photos" when importing...

iPhoto shows "No Photos" even when I have photos to import. If I restart the computer and then plug in my camera into the USB, iPhoto will pop up and show all the photos in my camera and import, but it only seems to do so immediately after restart. If I attempt to import photos again, maybe a few minutes after the first successful import, it goes back to "No Photos." It recognizes the device but does not import anything.
Anyone know have any ideas on how to import photos without having to restart computer constantly for each import?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First try repairing disk permissions with disk utility and delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
A workaround until you find a solution is to use Image Capture (in the Applications folder) to manually upload the photos to a folder on the desktop and import from there. When you're sure the photos are safely in the library you can delete the folder from the desktop and reformat the memory card with the camera to be ready for the next shoot.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Photos app shows I have less photos than my settings does

    Hello all.
I got a new iPhone 5s in January and since I have noticed that in my photos app (where photos are stored) it says I have taken 624 photos and 14 videos but when going into Settings> General> About> Videos 15 and Photos 1,214. Why is this and how do I get my phone to show the right information? When I plug my phone into iPhoto (now Photos) on my computer it imports duplicates of each photo but has only done this since both updates on iPhone and MacBook. I have checked my iCloud account and I am not logged in so the photo stream is not turned on and I don't have any shared folders.
I've been needing to go to a Genius bar about my iPhone and MacBook as since the new IOS update my MacBook has been extremely slow but just haven't had a chance yet and thought I may try on here whilst thinking about it. All help is welcome

Depends on how you have your iPhoto setting set up. If under Preferences in iPhoto you have the options set up to automatically import your Photo Stream photos, then they should already be in monthly Events in iPhoto:
If you do not have these options set up, but if you have been regularly importing from your Camera Roll, then those also should be showing in Events in iPhoto. If you see your photos in either Events or Photos (selected from the top of the iPhoto sidebar), then they are safely stored in iPhoto, and you can delete them from your device.
If you do not see them in the Events or Photos views, then you would need to turn on the Photo Stream options above, and see what gets imported. Depending on the dates of the photos in your Photo Stream on your device, those photos may or may not still be in Photo Stream in iCloud. iCloud will keep the last 30 days of photos up to 1000 photos. But your device will keep Photo Stream photos on the device until you reset Photo Stream on the device.
I have photos in my iPhone Photo Stream that go back to last April....but, if I turned off Photo Stream in iCloud, most of them would be deleted because iCloud itself only has the last 30 days worth.
If all of the photos in your Photo Stream are not imported to your computer, you can put them in a Shared Photo Stream and send it to yourself, then import them to your Library right on the Mac.

  • IPhoto showing incorrect photos on iPhone "device" - help or feedback???

I've been having this problem for months and alluded to it in a previous post. It has followed my iPhone during a migration from 3G to 3GS and I'm guessing it's a bad file, but not sure which one...
When I plug my iPhone 3GS via USB cable iTunes and iPhoto both launch (I have iPhoto set to launch when camera connected in the app Preferences). In iTunes I have my 3GS set to sync several albums only (however, this problem occurred even when I had it set to sync ALL photos and albums). If I view the "Device" in iPhoto, however, it shows a bunch of pics which, though they exist in iPhoto, they are NOT on the Camera Roll, nor are they even photos that are in the albums that I have selected to sync. It's my understanding that they only thing I should be seeing in iPhoto under the iPhone device when the iPhone is connected is pictures taken by the iPhone itself and I select which of these to import. But, what is actually displayed is a random smattering of photos from my iPhoto photo albums... and I mean random. I also have numerous random "ghost" images which are empty squares with dotted line border and rounded corners which are interposed between actual images.
I previously had this problem but it seemed to fix itself after a restart of the iPhone (power off and then on) and permissions repair... though not certain if any of those actually fixed it or just coincidence. This problem persisted even after restoring from a 3G to my current 3GS and an upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 (actually 10.6.1 at this point).
I am certain there is a corrupt file somewhere but don't know where to start. Any feedback on how to fix this?

Following instructions in this thread to delete the DCIM folder completely resolved this problem in case anyone needs it:

  • Photo library shows more photos than it really has

My photo library has 41 photos, however when checking "Usage" it shows I have 10.4Gb. Why?
The complete Photo & Camera shows:
    1. Photo Library = 10.4 Gb
    2. My Photo Stream = 20.1 Mb
    3. Shared Photo Stream = 821 Mb
when checking via iTunes, it shows I have 3801 photos, where are they? I know they are not the in recently deleted album.
    Any ideas?

If you're still seeing a discrepancy in the number of photos on your device and storage space used, the next step would be to reinstall iOS on your device by placing it in Recovery Mode, then choosing Update in iTunes.
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

  • Select multiple photos to upload to existing facebook album

I'm new to iPhoto so bear with me for asking about what I'm sure is a simple task that I just am going about wrong, but how do I select multiple files across different iPhoto albums to upload to a single existing facebook album. The easy way would seem to be to do this from safari in facebook but it seems like the iphoto library is not browseable in finder. Is there a way to do this, or am I asking the impossible?

    Greetings,
    How I would do it:
__Make a new Album in iPhoto (File > New Album)
__Drag all the desired pictures into that Album
__Click on the Album and then click on the Facebook button in iPhoto to publish the selected Album of images to Facebook
    Alternative:
__Choose one picture and click the Facebook button in iPhoto to publish it
__Go through your other Albums, locate the images you want, and drag them into the Facebook gallery that was created in step one. This will add those pictures to that Facebook gallery.
    Hope that helps.

  • Iphoto shows no photos  and won't allow import, but photos are there in images.  Happened after software upgrade.

How can I get iPhoto working again?

No information so only wild guesses can be made
most common solution is Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library

  • IPhoto shows zero photos on ipad

    Howdy,
I'm using a new MacBook Pro running OS X (10.10) and trying to download photographs from an even new iPad running iOS 7.1.1.  Most online instructions say that you can connect the devices with a USB cable and run either iPhoto or ImageCapture. I've connected the devices, but can't download the photos.
When I run iPhoto 9.6 the icon for the iPad appears as expected under "Devices" in the left-hand tray. There are no photo thumbnails in the main window. Both the "Import Selected" and the "Import (0) Photos" buttons in the upper-right are grayed-out. There is a bit of text underneath the "Import (0) Photos" button that says "Loading", but that text is also grayed-out.
Similarly, when running ImageCapture 6.6 the icon for the iPad appears as expected under "Devices" in the left-hand tray. Underneath that is another heading saying "SHARED" followed with a gray oval that has "0" (zero, I believe) in the middle. There are no thumbnails in the main window.
Clearly, neither iPhoto nor ImageCapture on my Mac can "see" the photos that I can see on my iPad. Does the iPad have some locking mechanism that prevents external computers from retrieving images? How do I make the photos on the iPad visible to the Mac?
    Thanks,
    Marty

This is what I've found, via the "Chat" feature in Apple's online support:
My objective was to move an iPhoto library from an old MacBook to a new MacBook Pro. As a first step, I had uploaded the library to my iPad using the "sync" mechanism. The sync  mechanism worked, in the sense that I can now see the roughly 3500 photos on my iPad. According to Apple's support group (I used their "Online Chat" option) the problem is that once photos have been synced they can not be subsequently downloaded to another device. The tech at Apple recommended that I hook up an external drive to the old MacBook, copy the iPhoto library to the external drive, then attach the external drive to the new MacBook Pro and use iPhoto's "File ==> Import To Library" to effect the transfer on the new computer.
This worked, "sort of". The down side is that my library exploded from about 3500 images to 21,000. (It took 21 GB on the external drive). After using the recommended "File ==> Import to Library" I found that almost every event was replicated and some had three or even four replications (some of which were partial). I spent a long time deleting the duplicate events and then found that double clicking on certain images would only open a tiny representation. Using the "get info" it became apparent that these tiny images are just ~50 kb copies of the ~3 Mb original images. These tiny copies are not useful to me, although my guess is that these are the files used in the iPhoto interface.
This is not the sort of thing that makes a user happy - several days lost on a seemingly commonplace task like copying a photo library from an old computer to a new computer under the direction of the manufacturer's own support team.
Looking again at the web documentation, I gather that it was a mistake to use the "Import to Library" feature. Instead, I should have just dragged the iPhoto Library icon onto my new computer's disk drive and opened it as a normal library with iPhoto.

  • Vimeo Searches in ATV2 show less results than in osx

    Hi all,
I live in Argentina, have an ATV2 and MacBook Pro.
Searches in vimeo through opera show extesively more results than searches through ATV2.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thanks

    Hi Will,
Hmmm... That's a tough question without seeing the results of FMAF, at least. Sometimes, something goes wrong with the reassignment (if you did any) or the carry-forward. Sometimes, it's somehow connected to internal process which differs from SAP standard (again, if you have any). Could be really several reasons, but most of them are resulted from enhanced solutions in FM.

  • IPhoto 08 Help - iPhoto shows no photo's but data is still there.

    Hi there.
I have a Macbook Pro 15" and am running iLife 08. Basically my harddrive isn't big enough for all my photos so for the past year I have been using an external harddrive to hold all my photo's and using an alias (named iPhoto Library, in the Pictures folder of my internal hd) to link to the actual data which is stored on my external hd. I have been doing this for over a year and it has been working perfectly.
This afternoon I went to import some more photos from my camera. So i did the usual thing (plugged in external hd, fired up iphoto 08, plugged in camera, imported photos) but when the import had finished, I accidentally took out the external hd usb instead of the camera usb. So i got the usual Device Removal error message but I thought all would be fine.
I plugged in the external hd again and restarted iPhoto (loads up fine) but it says no photos. It has no albums or thumnails or anything. It looks just like it did the very first time I opened it (before any photos had been imported).
So my heart jumped and missed a few beats with me thinking my external hd had lost all its data at the accidental removal, but it hasn't. It still has all the photos and data as it usually did (inside a package folder named Iphoto Library).
My question is how do I restore iPhoto so that it looks like it did yesterday? All the data is still there but iPhoto just doesn't display any of it? I have checked that iPhoto is opening the iPhoto Library alias but still no luck.
I have just as a precaution backed up the external hardrives 'iPhoto Library' folder onto a second external hard drive.
Thanks in advance, let me know if you need any screenshots/screenrecordings.
    Pete

Yes have tried that. I set up the alias because I originally had the photos on my internal hard drive and then moved them across. I have tried holding command and alt whilst clicking iphoto and selecting the options to rebuild the library but it just takes 2 seconds and does nothing.
    Any other ideas anyone?
    Thanks again.

  • Iphoto shows loading photos for a book, but loading does not complete

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me. I have put together 5 books in Iphoto, and today selected about 60 photos to create a new book. I selected the photos and clicked on "add to" at the bottom of the screen. I then selected "book" and from there "create book". The screen then transfers to "Loading" and the "little progress wheel" appears. The wheel then stops and Iphoto does not progress any further. I then need to force quit to get out of iPhotos. Does anyone out there know what the problem is and how I can fix it?
    Thanks, Marcus

  • Table structure shows less fields than in output

         Dear Experts,
The requirement is get the value of KTEXT and LTEXT of table CSKA.
If you see the structure of CSKA in SE11, it will show 10 fields but when you see the values, it will show 12 fields including KTEXT and LTEXT.
How to extract the data from KTEXT and LTEXT.
PS: How to get the values of KTEXT and LTEXT.
    Regards
    Mani

    Hi Mani,
The CSKA table contains only 10 fields but you can see extra three fields KTEXT, LTEXT and MCTXT fields. These are the fields from CSKA text table. In order to check text table traverse through Goto -> Texttable. It will show the text table CSKU in this case. From CSKU you can fetch the three fields.
    Hope this helps you.
