How do I get black side bars on a full screen photo in iPhoto 11. It was black in iPhoto 09 and now it's a murky grey. I'm not talking about events or photo view where it's in preferences only full screen photo. Thanks

Go into iPhoto's Appearance preference pane and move the Background slider all the way to the left - black.

  • HT1245 Why does my caller I.D. photos show as a small thumbnail in the upper right corner and not full screen? I have used both photos I have synced and photos I have taken, yet others have full screen photo I.D.'s.

Why does my caller I.D. photos show as a small thumbnail in the upper right corner and not full screen? I have used both photos I have synced and photos I have taken, yet others have full screen photo I.D.'s. I have looked onlime at several threads and there are no real answers as to what I need to do or am doing wrong.

I am also having this issue.
I've just spoken to someone in the Apple Support Centre who advised me that since the product is in beta, he is unable to assist. I wanted to find out whether someone was able to delete the data for me, or 'reset' the photos app somehow. This apparently cannot be done. He suggested I provide feedback via the feedback page, which I will do, but to be honest doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence in the issue being fixed.
I also deactivated the service and waited the 30 days for the pictures to be deleted - this should have been completed in mid-January. Instead, my iCloud.com Photos page is now showing the photos that should have been deleted as grey squares, just as you described. I am also unable to delete these photos; every time I try, I get the same message about a server error.
I am also unable to disable the service by enabling and then disabling it on my iPhone. Each time I have tried this it hangs on uploading for several hours, with the progress bar not moving at all. When I disable it on my iPhone, the web app remains unchanged.
If anyone has had this issue and has managed to fix it, PLEASE share your wisdom. I am out of patience!

  • Full screen photo as caller ID

Hi, is there a way to have full screen photo as caller ID even if I have my contacts synced with gmail. Otherwise is there a way to unsync contacts without have them deleted from iPhone?
    Many thanks.
    Ciao, Andrea

    screen caller id photo.
    I found this page:
    http://www.apple.com/accessibility/iphone/vision.html
    Which has this information:
"You can even set incoming calls to display a full-screen image or photo of the caller."
But, I checked all the options under accessibility, and I can't find a way to do this.
Like Genuis2000, I have tried setting the photo by:
1 - Using an existing Photo
2 - Taking a new photo with the iPhone and using that.
Either way, it only shows a little thumbnail photo when the person calls.

  • IPhone Cuts off Full Screen Photos in Contact View

The iPhone can use a full screen photo of a contact (when a call is initiated), if the original is cropped in iPhoto as '2 x 3 (iPhone) / Portrait'. (To set up full screen view on the iPhone, the user must select a contact, tap the 'Edit' button, tap the contact photo, tap 'Edit Photo', tap 'Choose', then tap 'Done'.) However, the same photo is then cropped to a square shape when initially viewed in the Contact screen, often cutting off the person's forehead. A suggestion for improvement would be to have the iPhone use the square cropping settings of the original photo when it was added to Address Book (for initial Contact view), and then use the 2 x 3 settings when the call is initiated to have the photo fill the screen. Anyone have any workarounds?

    Hello
I have updated my software recently and the full screen default for the web browser is very annoying and causing my phone to slow down badly.
Has anyone been able to turn the Full Screen web mode default off??
Or how do you delete a software update.
    Thanks

No. Just provide feedback to Apple at www.apple.com/feedback. Also, you can search and find a number of posts about this. Not necessary to start a new one.

  • My notification used to show a full screen picture.  Now it is a smaller banner   How do I change it back?

When I received a call, I always received a full screen photo of my contacts (the photo I stored in my phone).  Now, I receive the full screen photo on one of my contacts, but everyone else has changed to a small banner at the top of the screen, with a very small photo in the top right corner.  I can't figure out why this happened, or how to change it back.  Has anyone else had the same problem?  How can I fix it?

    Go to "Settings" then "Notifications"
Scroll down where it says "In Notification Center" and choose "Messages"
On the next screen you will see the different options on how you can see your alerts

  • I need text to show one letter or word at a time.

Hi there, I've been having this big issue that I can't seem to find an answer to.
I'm trying to make it so text in a text box shows one letter or word at a time. (letter at a time preferred.)
Does anyone know if this is even possible with flash? When I look it up I can never seem to get what I'm trying to find.

That should be simple to do. Place a text box on Stage, enter the first letter and press F6. In the new frame, add the second letter as well and press F6 again. Keep repeating this (adding an additional letter in every frame) until you have the complete text. Adjust your fps speed as desired and Test your movie.

  • [SOLVED] Full Screen Windows All The Time?

I am currently using Arch+Evilwm on both my desktop and netbook, and generally I am very happy with Evilwm, but on the netbook I find myself making windows full screen all the time (to maximize screen space). Does anyone know if Evilwm can be altered to make all windows full screen all of the time?

  • Full Screen Photos In Slide Show & Other Questions

Hi - I'm using Premiere Elements 4. I have a few questions since I'm new to using the program. First of all, how do I get the photos to take up the whole screen (instead of showing a black border) when they are played back? They were taken on a 7.2 megapixel camera at the maximum quality setting. Also, the resolution is bad when it's played back but fine when you see the preview of the photos in the program. I've seen other posts about needing to change the resolution but I was wondering if I got the photos to play full screen if that might fix my problem because I can play the photos as a slide show in the Windows Photo Gallery Program and the resolution is perfect and the photos take up the whole screen.
Secondly, how do I delete a menu from the Disc Menus Section? Also, how would I delete the "Scene Selection" button from the menu screen that I want to keep? I want to be able to have a menu with just a "play all" button.
    Thanks for your help.

The only way to remove Scene Menu button from Disc Menus is to physically remove it from the template by editing it (They're PSD files) in Photoshop Elements.
As for photos, DO NOT use photos from that 7.2 megapixel camera at full resolution, niagara. It's a sure recipe for disaster. RAther, per the FAQs at the top of this forum, rez those photos all down to no larger than 1000x750 pixels in size.

That done, you can get your photos to fill your screen one of two ways:
    a) Leave the Default to Frame Size option checked in your preferences. The only case in which this won't work is if you're using 4:3 photos in a 16:9 widescreen project.
    b) If this is the case, go to Edit/Preferences and uncheck Default to Frame Size BEFORE you import that photos into your project. (It won't work if you do it after.) Then, after placing each photo on your timeline, right-click on each, select Show Properties and, in Properties, open Motion and set Scale to 85%. Note that, because your photos and the widescreen have different aspect ratios, you will lose some of the vertical off the tops and bottoms of your photos.
There are many more ways to do it -- but it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
