IPhoto Slideshow music is not heard on Airplay device

I have created a Slideshow in iPhoto and selected the Ken Burns template.  When I play the slideshow on the MBPro, the sound is heard on the laptop.  When I select Airplay for my AppleTV device and try to play it, there is no sound on either the MBPro or the AppleTV device.  The AppleTV device is connected to my receiver using an HDMI cable, and I have HDMI selected as the audio source on it.
Any ideas on how to get this to work?

Do you have restrictions set in Settings?

  • IPhoto slideshow music does not transfer correctly to Apple TV

When I set up a slideshow on my iMac and add music it plays correctly on the computer.
If I select the same slideshow on the Apple TV the photos display correctly but the music played is not the same as the track selected on the computer.
The only way I can play music with the slideshow on the ATV is to select the track required on the ATV.
I was under the impression that any slideshow set up on the computer would automatically transfer to the ATV and would remain intact for subsequent selection and viewing, is this not right?
    Any advice wouyld be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I never bothered delving into the why's and wherefore's of why it did this, but have assumed it is something to do with the transitions and how the differing frame rates on the mac and tv are reflected in the time scale of photo slide shows. I suppose what I'm saying is that's it possibly isn't the easiest thing to fix.

  • When i sync my ipod touch (4gen), my music does not appear on my device? what is wrong?

when I sync my ipod touch (4gen), my music does not appear on my device. What went wrong?

    Hello,
The problem is that you just don't selected the music that you want to import.
You can do this by opening iTunes, search your ipod in the superior bar, select it, then will appear a screen showing the information of your ipod, you can check how many songs are in your ipod, if there says nothing so theres the problem. In the superior bar, select Music, then click on the box "Sync Music", now select the songs you want right down. And press "Sync" That should solve the problem.
    Cheers

  • IPhoto Slideshow images will not burn to DVD -- Green Screen

I'm trying to burn a slideshow I created in iPhoto '09 to a DVD using iDVD '09. The first few time I've done this, everything burns properly, including the DVD menu. When I select the "play" button to play the slideshow, the music that I originally entered plays correctly; however, the screen is completely green and none of the images appear.
Slideshow has 136 pictures and three songs from my iTunes library. The menu in iDVD has no music and only one pictures, using a previously loaded theme from the default options. I am burning the slideshow to 16:9 ratio, NTSC, best performance.
I have tried creating using the autoplay upon dvd insert option, which still did not work. Same green screen with slideshow music playing. I am currently trying to export the slideshow as quicktime movie then adding that to the project.
    PLEASE help. Any ideas appreciated.

I did search apple's KB again but that's the only article I could find on Green Screen so I posted it to the forum for reference purposes only....
Sorry it failed to help. I'll ask around for other suggestions and if anything comes up I'll post back.
DRM is certainly a possibility as suggested above even though I've not seen it attached/related to an issue of this nature (lines yes, but rarely the entire screen).

  • MacBook - problems with iPhoto slideshow music

Just got my brand new MacBook today and imported everything from old PowerBook. However now that I am trying to play a slideshow in iPhoto, the music to it will not play. Yet it will play in iTunes app itself, but not within the slideshow in iPhoto? Have downloaded all upgrades but still not working. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks!

Apologies! It is now working just fine. I had forgotten to run Disk Utility Repair Permissions. It's been a long day setting up the new MacBook and my brain is addled!

  • IPhoto slideshow music won't work after updates

I installed the two latest updates from Apple (iTunes and Quicktime, I think) yesterday evening, and now when I try to Share an iPhoto slideshow as a QT movie, the music doesn't come through. I used Disk Utility to repair disk permissions, but that didn't help. I send slideshows to my friends all the time -- this problem occurred only after the latest updates were installed so I know that one (or both?) is the problem. I am really frustrated! Is there anything I can do other than wait for Apple to offer an update to their update?
iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   Just installed latest updates from Apple

Are you able to open iPhoto's preferences easily? That and the music issue was a bug in an earlier version of iPhoto 7. Be sure you've updated to 7.1.3 and have applied the iLife Support 8.2 updater.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • My iphone 4s is recognized by itunes and iphoto, but it will not show as a device in finder for macbook pro

My iPhone 4s is recognized by itunes and iphoto however it does not show up in finder under devices.

I don't agree - I have two IMacs and two iPhones - the iPhone 4S show up on one machine, but not the other.  They do show that they are charging, and a memory stick will open on the same USB ports.  So, I don't think this is how they are "supposed to work"......

  • IPhoto Book Slideshow Music Settings Not Working

When I try to view a Photo book as a slideshow, a default guitar music track plays. When I uncheck "Play music" the music still plays. When I try to change the music, the default guitar track still plays. It seems the music settings are not holding or being recognized. Curiously, I do not have these issues when viewing an standard photo "album" or other group of images in iPhoto, only when viewing my Photo books. Is this a bug?

  • IPhoto slideshow music problem.....

When the slideshow is played on the iPhoto Application in the computer, it plays all the music listed in the album chosen. HOWEVER, when exported to a CD disk it will only play the first song and then no more music for the rest of the slide show. This has been frustrating.....

    Hi John,
this has been a know glitch that shows up for some .
Only one song exporting with Slideshows
Right now, this seems to be a know problem/bug. There have been some work-arounds. Don't know if the problem is with iPhoto, Quicktime or a combo of both.
-From Bob Worthington: re-ripping the cuts I wanted as background music for the DVD as a single cut in iTunes. I then made a playlist containing the one extended cut of music.
-Old Toad: share to Quicktime from iPhoto and then import the resulting movie into iMovie you can extract and delete the audio from the video and add the two songs to the video and save.
Quicktime Pro-open the movie and bring up the Movie Properties menu window. In the top window select the audio track and delete it.
If you want more than one song you'll have to join them together with iMovie or some other application. Then open that joined file with QT Player. Then do a select all and copy. Now go to the QT window of the movie and select the Edit->Add to Movie menu option. You don't want to scale it because it will change the play speed of the audio unless it's time is exactly the same as the movie.
You could go the other way, open the movie, select all and copy, and then past with scaling to the audio. That will change the speed of the movie and transitions to fit the audio track. In this case the resulting video file will have the name of the audio track file that you started with.
You may have to play with it a bit to get exactly what you want. Be sure to work with copies of all the media files for the project.
-Peter Burtwistle: I opened the Qt movie that iPhoto makes when you export to iDVD and removed the sound track.
Then made a new soundtrack by opening all three songs in QT, then cutting and pasting them together.
Finally use QT Pro's 'Add to Movie" option to add the soundtrack to the original movie.
This worked well and was fast to do too.
-Joe Lombardo: I ended up having to extend the songs by 20 seconds so I brought them all into GarageBand and made some edits. Then I exported them all to iTunes as a single track and used that for the slideshow
From scotty321 at MacOSXHints.com: If you have Roxio Toast Titanium installed on your machine, you can join unprotected tracks yourself by simulating a disc burn. Simply take these steps:
Go to the Audio tab in Toast.
Drag your audio files from iTunes into Toast.
Reshuffle them in the proper order within Toast.
Go up to File: Save As Disc Image. Save your disc image somewhere on your Desktop.
Choose Utilities: Mount Disc Image. The CD will mount on your desktop, and iTunes will think that you just inserted a CD.
Within iTunes, select the tracks that you want to join and then use Advanced: Join CD Tracks.
Go through the import process, and you've got a joined track! Simply rename the track to whatever you want to call it, and you're good to go.
    From Lori...
    Burn the playlist in iTunes.
Make sure you have itunes Prefs just open the Cd and not automatically play or import the songs.
Insert the burned CD and iTunes will open.
Within iTunes, select the tracks that you want to join and then use Advanced: Join CD Tracks.
Go to Advanced>convert selection to AAC.
When done, make a new playlist named after the slideshow.
Put the new combined track into the playlist.
In iPhoto, select this playlist for your slideshow.

  • IPhoto Slideshow Music Settings Issue

I'm having an issue with Slideshows in iPhoto where there will be a long list called "Folders" when I am setting up the music. This happens in both the actual Slideshow and the creating of a Slideshow. I've installed iPhoto on 3 other computers and all of those computers did NOT have a Folder at the bottom, where mine does and opens into this huge mess. Scrolling manually through this takes a long while and makes setting up Slideshows a lot slower. Does anyone else have this issue and or a fix? Thanks!
Here is an image if you want to see the issue:

As you can see I dragged my Documents Folder in there.
If I select the Documents Folder, as indicated, and tap the Delete key, it goes.

  • Iphoto slideshow -music

Wondering if anyone knows how to set more than one song during a longer slideshow presentation. I seem to only have one song playing and repeating over and over. Thanks.

Yea, why is the sample music in iphoto not available anywhere else. I've searched my whole imac and found nothing. I'm trying to use for example "you got a friend in me" in imovie and I cannot find it.

  • IPhoto slideshow music keeps skipping

I am using iPhoto to do some slideshows...for a while now, the music keeps skipping! And this is getting on my nerve really...can anybody help me out?
I don't think it's the RAM as it does it with small slideshow as well.
My iPhoto is uptodated to the last version.
I have tried using the Utility Disc Repair and deleting the com.iphoto.plist file or something like that...and it still keeps skipping.
Any other suggestions or correction on how to fix this problem?

    Oliver:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Give us some information regarding your Mac: RAM, HD size and free space, as well as the size of photos in the slideshow.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. • Iphoto slideshow music stopped working

I was creating a slideshow in Iphoto with about 5 songs.  Was working for a while in Preview.  I edited the slideshow and then came back to re-start the music.  Nothing playing, although all the songs are in the Custom Playlist and the box is checked.   Very frustrating.... I worked on this slideshow for several hours and ready to finalize.
Also, I think I am on an older version of IPhoto but the app store says Iphoto 11 downloaded.
How can I fix this ?  Help !   Thank you.

Go the the iPhoto menu in iPhoto and select About iPhoto.
That will tell you what version you're using.
Have you tried removing the audio from the slideshow and then add it back.
A basic fix you can try is as follows:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
