Iphoto Start up question

Everytime I start up Iphoto version 9.5.1 it says "2 photos have been found in the iPhoto library that were not imported".  Any ideas why?  All my toher photos are good and have no problems.
Thanks!

Quit iPhoto and to to the iPhoto library (by default in your pictures folder) - right click (control click) on it and select show package contents - find the folder named import (or importing) and drag it to the desktop - DO NOT MAKE ANY OTHER CHANGES - launch iPhoto and you will be fine.
Open the import(ing) folder and if there is nothing in it that you need move it to the trash and empty the trash

  • Stop iPhoto starting up!

This is probably a fairly simple thing to do, but for some reason I can't get my head around it...
Is there a way to connect my iPhone to my mac without iPhoto starting up automatically? I do want iTunes to start, as this is set up to sync calendars, music, contacts, apps etc automatically, but I specifically set up photos not to sync at all, so don't need iPhoto to start!
It gets annoying when you have already imported photos from the iPhone into iPhoto, but because the photos are still on the phone it thinks you always want to import... help me!
    Thanks

In iPhoto > iPhoto menu > Preferences > General tab, set the 'Connecting camera opens:' pop-up to No Application. (Note: if you're using a version of iPhoto +prior to+ iLife '08, this setting is in Applications > Image Capture's preferences, instead of iPhoto.)
Note that this will apply to all cameras/memory cards - there's no way to make it specific to the iPhone.
Also note that if your Camera Roll is empty, iPhoto will not open. You can transfer any pics to iPhoto, delete from the phone at the end of the transfer, then re-sync them to the phone so they're in the iPhone's photo library not the Camera Roll. That's safer for the photos, and means that unless you've taken new pics, iPhoto won't open.

  • Why whenever I turn on an external HD, iPhoto starts up?

I have an MB Pro, 2.33, with a number of FW and SATA drives.
I'm wondering why suddenly when I turn on an external HD, iPhoto starts up?
    thanks,
    elmer

The bigger problem is that your external HD's are probably formatted in FAT16 (or maybe even FAT32) format, which may cause other filename-related problems down the line. iPhoto will be triggered to launch because these formats are most commonly used for camera media cards, and detecting them as externals typically points to media cards.
If your external HD's are dedicated to Macs, you might want to consider moving your data out, reformatting with Mac OS X Extended format (journaled) and then putting your data back on.

  • IPhoto starts every time we boot our MBP

iPhoto starts up every time we boot our MBP from a full shutdown. How do we make it stop?
    Thanks!

Since you are learning, when you right-click or ctrl-click on a dock icon, you will get a contextual menu. One of the Items is to have the program start at login. You may have accidentally done this with iPhoto which may explain how it got into the login items.

  • IPhoto has a question mark over it. Wont open! Help?

iPhoto has a question mark over it. Wont open! It is completely inaccessible. How can i restore this to my computer and get my pics back?

iPhoto has a question mark over it.
You mean in the Dock?  Then the Dock icon is no longer linked to the application.
Did you upgrade MacOS X, so iPhoto is no longer compatible?
If you moved or deleted iPhoto, reinstall it. It will depend on your iPhoto version and MacOS X version, how to reinstall.
If your profile signature ""OS X (10.6.8)" is still valid, reinstall iPhoto from your system install disks, if iPhoto came preinstalled on your Mac, or from your iLife install disks.
If you already upgraded to Yosemite, you can reinstall iPhoto from the App Store.

  • My iPhoto starts up very slowly.

My iPhoto starts up very slowly. Spinning beach ball for about 10-15 sec. before any photos load up. Have done everything that Apple Support has suggested. Works once or twice and back to the same thing again.

There have been two possible fixes for this:
1 - move the HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop and reboot. (see houseboat's post at the end of this discussion: spinning beachball suddenly every time now at launch )
NOTE:  this will remove your Mac's name from the System/Sharing preference pane.  Go that pane and reenter the name you gave the Mac originally. It can mess up  some sharing and LAN connections.
2 - Go into iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and remove any mail account that has been slow lately.  This helped a couple of users that had several mail accounts. However, I would consider it to be a last last chance option and if you had several accounts.  Be sure to take a screenshot of the settings for each mail account you might remove so you can add them back easily if the fix wasn't worthwhile.

  • Firefox will not open or won't start (see /questions/964132 )

    was Ok till recently

Please include more information, such as your Operating System (Windows?) and version, plus exactly what happens when you try to start Firefox. The information that's listed in a recent Firefox crash report, if available, might also help. See [[Firefox crashes]] under '''Get help fixing this crash''' and post any crash Report IDs recently submitted (they'll start with '''bp-''' )
Your question title says "Firefox will not open or won't start (see /questions/964132 )" I looked at that question and it was started by another Firefox user. [/questions/964132?page=2#answer-477049] has a number of suggestions if Firefox won't start. Which ones did you try?
    For other possible solutions see
    * [[Basic Troubleshooting]]
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser_will_not_start_up
*[/questions/958850] ''Firefox won't open after restart''
Note: A "clean reinstall" was one of the suggestions in [/questions/964132]. It means removing the Firefox application files and then reinstalling Firefox from a fresh download, as explained in the "Reinstall Firefox" step in [[Basic Troubleshooting]]. If that allows you to start Firefox, but if the problem returns after restarting the computer, you should do another "clean reinstall" and then troubleshoot your plugins by disabling all of them, as suggested in the [[Basic Troubleshooting]] article.

  • IPhoto starts automatically with computer startup

I recently installed a new hard drive in my MacBook Pro. After the install, now every time I start the computer, iPhoto starts automatically. Is there a setting that I can change to stop this. It's not a big problem, just a little annoying.

try right clicking on the iPhoto icon in the dock and making sure that the option to "Open at login" is not set

  • IPhoto starts after a FW Drive plugged in

    Hi all folks,
since some weeks my iPhoto 5 and 6 starts all the time I plugged one of my external FW Drive to a Mac (formated with two partitions, FAT32 and HFS+).
I use USB Sticks and Drives (FAT and HFS+) and an other FW Drive (FAT32 and HFS+) too, but iPhoto starts only I plug one of my FW Drives to the Mac, the second one does not start iPhoto (same FW Drive).
How to switch this "function" off, what's the reason for this behavior.
    Thanks for any Help,
    Lutz

    Hi Terence,
Have you ever imported photos from that partition?
Hm, I think I have done this.
And have you tried the solution?
Yes, in general, but it is necessary to start iPhoto manually after I
plug a camera in, now. But this is not a problem.
My Problem is (was), I don't know what's the difference between a
USB Stick with FAT and a FW HD with FAT32. It's a little bit like voodoo, .
    Thanks for your explanation,
    Lutz

  • IPhoto Starts when connecting iPad; not iTunes

    Hi Folks,
I've checked the settings in iTunes under "Summary/Options" in iTunes and the option is checked to start iTunes when the iPad is connected.
However, when ever I connect my iPad to my iMac, iPhoto starts automagically instead.... I have manually start iTunes and even then it takes several seconds for iTunes to recognise that I've connected the iPad.
Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks!
    Richard

iPhoto opening automatically was annoying me, too, but I found a solution in this iPad discussion group. I don't know how to insert a link, but here is the address, the answer being the last posting.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12600577&#12600577
The solution has something to do with "ImageCapture", so you could search in this discussion group for that if the address above doesn't work. Or, search "iPhoto", and the answer is in a posting from November 17, 2010.

  • Iphoto starts when iphone connected with usb to Macbook

After I upgraded to Yoesmite, I have a problem with Iphoto and Iphone. Iphoto starts whenever my Iphone is connected with USB to my MacbookPro.
I often use USB connection so that my Iphone is charged while working outside my home. So it is quite annoying that Iphoto starts up everey time I connect mye Iphone with USB. I want to work and is not interested in Iphoto to clutter up my work and memory usage.
What can I do to prevent Iphoto from loading.

Yes all you have to do is open iPhoto on Macbook & select iPhoto Menu Preferences>Connecting Camera opens: "select" NO Application.
Now if you want to send photos from your iPhone & you have iCloud-photos sync turned off, you'll have to open iPhotos & re-select iPhotos
    in Preferences again.
