IPhoto still tells me to download upgrader
I've downloaded and installed the iPhoto Library Upgrader, but when I try to open iPhoto, it still tells me I need to download and install it.
You have to also run the iPhoto library upgraded - it is in your applications folder ==> utilities - run it then launch iPhoto to finish th upgrade

Upgraded to Mavericks, updated iWork and iLife apps, update still tells me to download the update
So I spent all day downloading all the 'Free' updates which was fine, although 14GB later, so huge, they should have USB version but anyway the problem is, I installed Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iPhoto and iMovie perfectly fine, but the App Store keeps telling me updates available and they are the same version as I just downloaded. Although iPhoto is weird even though is says copyright 2013 it says iPhoto '11 - i would gather it should say iPhoto '13 but it doesn't look any different except the new icon.
Anyone else have this issue?I did a support chat with Applecare, and was told to try repairing the permissions for my boot drive (Macintosh HD) via Disk Utility, and then try reinstalling the updates one more time. There were quite a number of incorrect permissions (I was surprised), so we'll see if it helps...
I was also told that clearing the App Store preferences might do the trick:
To pull the plist file for App Store, what we want to do is:
1. Open Finder and click on the Go menu in the Apple Menu Bar.
2. Hold down the Option key and choose Library
3. Open the Preferences folder and locate this file
com.apple.AppStore.plist
4. Go ahead and move that file to your desktop, then quit out of App Store
5. Reopen App Store and try to replicate the issue
6. If this solves the problem, go ahead and move com.apple.AppStore.plist on your desktop to the trash
So now that I've reinstalled the iWork "updates" for a third time, and Mac App Store seems happy, we'll see if the fixed permissions and plist file does the trick.

I am trying to synch my husband's I Phone and cannot. i have already done mine, which is identical to his. Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
Every time I download the latest version of 3.6,13, there is a message telling me my computer is no longer protected (my security tells me everythiing is okay) and to download the newest version. You already have the latest version of Firefox and don't need to updated it. The problem is that your Firefox version information has been locked at ''2.0.0.16'' by the EGAMES extension. I've installed Adobe Flash, but the website still tells me to download the newest version?

moved iphoto to trash and downloaded and installed new one but still tells me to prepare and upgrade it when I have done it 2 or 3 times now... how do i get it to open so I can upload my photos?

What exactly dod you have and have you done?
What version of iPhoto did you have and what version do you now have? Of the OS? If you are upgrading from iphoto '08 or earlier did you download and RUN the iphoto library upgrader?

If that fails:

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
As for goign back: do you have an undamaged library?

On the MBAir drag the iPhoto app to the Trash, empty the Trash.
Then try purchasing and downloading iPhoto.
You can re download iPhoto on all your authorized Macs. To authorize the MBAir, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store > Authorize This Mac. You will be prompted for your Apple ID and password.
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. -

I installed Yosemite, upgraded my library as prompted and iPhoto still will not open. What am I missing?

my ipod classic will sync with my itunes and it shows me all the songs have been downloaded. however when i disconnect it i only have 50 songs present on my ipod. in the settings it still tells me 15 GB is being used up. i have dowloaded nothing onto it but music. i cant find the rest of my songs on it. what do i do?

Cannot open iPhoto after downloading Yosemite. I have upgraded to iPhoto 6.9 and have downloaded iPhoto upgrader 1.1 to no avail.
Did you go to your Applications/Utilities folder and actually double click on the updater to run it?

IPhoto still showing after upgrading to photos

i've upgraded to Photos (Yosemite 10.10.3), however iPhotos is still showing as well as Photos. Is there anyway I can remove this? I've tried to via the 'App Cleaner' program, however iPhoto is shown as locked? It just seems stupid to have it taking up room on my drive when its obsolete!iPhoto still works and will not interfere with the new Photos. If you have the space, I would hold on to it for a while till you are completely satisfied with Photos. There are many "issues" that have been reported.
If you really want to delete it, go to your Applications folder and select the app.
Go to it's 'info' panel by clicking Cmd-i
When the panel opens, click on the lock in the bottom right hand corner; this will ask for your computer password to unlock the panel.
Click on the plus sign. This will open another window that will allow you to add yourself to the "Name" list in the info panel.
Select your name.
Go to the info panel and set your "Privilege" to Read & Write
Click on the Lock.
You should now be able to Cmd-Delete the file. -
Tried to use Iphoto and was told I needed upgrade. Try to install upgrade . Upgrade should take an hour if photo library is large. It's now close to three hours and still upgrading. Can't use Iphoto and don't want to stop if still upgrading...3hours??
You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
