Iphoto Stuck at loading when opened
well, it is stuck at The beginning and it has a never ending "Buffering" Symbol
I don't know what to do
I haven't used it before, nothing is showing up in the side bar, and It won't let me import from anything

IPhoto stuck on "Loading photos"
Hi everybody! Hope you can help me. Once I click on iPhoto it opens iPhoto window, but just gets stuck staying "Loading photos" with a wheel that just keeps turning. Im using iPhoto version 6.0.6. The last thing I did using this program was to upload pictures. I left iPhoto on all night, but still found it saying "Loading photos" the next morning. Also tried to look through others posts, but my iPhoto version seems newer than theirs. Would appreciate your help. Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If smtr's suggestion doesn't not clear up the problem try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist. Then launch iPhoto and see if it will open OK.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file. -

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you see when iPhoto opens?
what fixes have you tried?
where is you library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
how much free space on your boot drive?

File is stuck at 30% when opening
Hi,
I have created a Captivate 5 project on one PC and have tried to transfer this to another PC to work from their. However when I try to open the CPTX file it gets stuck at 30% and then gives me an error message asking me to chekc if the file has corrupted or the PC has enough resources.
Can anyone help me to try and fix this.
I have tried to transfer it using a memory stick, CD and via the network.OK. If you are able to open the original CPTX project file on the original PC, your issue may be due to the lock file that Captivate normally creates when opening projects.
Make sure you successfully close down the CPTX file and then browse to it's file location in Windows Explorer. See if there are any files at that location with the same name as the project file but with a slightly different ending to indicate they are a locking file. If so, delete the locking file, then try copying the CPTX file using Windows Explorer to your chip, and then from there to the other PC where you need to work on it. Don't work off the chip. Copy the project file to the hard drive of the computer where you need to work on it. -
IPhoto 11 keeps crashing when opening
Hello
My iphoto 11 keeps crashing when I open. I have over a 10GB library and have tried to repair all options when doing the option/command and have upgraded the latest fix for the program. This all started with icloud and when moving photos to photo stream. I am running OSX Lion completly updated. This is extremely frustrating.See Logs

Iphoto photo dimming out when opening in edit mode
photo photo dimming out when opening in edit mode. Returns to normal when opened out of edit mode. Any suggestions?

What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? Has this ever worked? What has recently changed? Can you describe what happens mrs clearly - does the photo image change? the iPhoto window? the entire screen?

Iphoto has thumbnails but when opened goes to black screen
i can see thumbnail photos in iphoto but when opened it turns to a black screen. Also problems in you tube with videos can hear but again black screen
What version of iPhoto and system are you running?
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run Option #4 to RebuildDatabase followed by #1 to Repair Permissions.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager (iPhoto 8 or earlier or IPhoto 11 and later) and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the
File ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 8 or earlier)
or
Library ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 9 or later)
menu option to rebuild the library.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Form not loading when opened via RCPTT
Hi,
I have a Form which is loaded when I click a radio button. It is working well without RCPTT as the screenshot 2.png shows.
But the same option when clicked via RCPTT replay option, it is not happening. See screenshot 1.png
It is recording but not replaying it because this option is not loading.
How can I solve this. Kindly let me know.
I have also attached the log file in my workspace/.metadata

IPhoto won't load or open or do anything
I know this has been asked but I can't seem to find an answer to my particular problem-when I click on iphoto in the dock it bounces once and then does nothing-it won't open or load or think no messages come up -it's as if i don't have the program at all. I just got this imac computer new maybe 2 months ago and when i installed it-it worked fine-its just all of a sudden that it wont do anything-and when I look for my photos I can only see them in the recently opened documents section of finder.
I hope someone can help? Also, i hope this isn't too stupid of a question I'm really a PC person so Mac's are all new to me.

Start with the troubleshooting basics:
1. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
2. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. You'll need to reset your User options afterwards.
3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

Iphoto stuck on landscape when printing
When I want to print from iphoto the orientation of the paper is stuck on landscape. This means if I am printing a contact sheet or any of the presets including the custom options I only print the bottom half of the page. It is not the printer as this prints fine with all my other software- indesign, adobe pdfs and vectorworks etc.
It is not the presets on the printer as this is all set up fine - portriat/ one page/ etc
What is the problem?It could be a preference file other than iPhoto's that is interfering with the printing process. Here's method to determine if that's the case:
Trouble Shooting Preferences
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If you're running Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
1 - close all applications.
2 - open your Home/Library folder and Option-drag (copy) the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
3 - select the contents of your Home/Library/Preferences folder and drag them into the Trash bin in the Dock. You will be asked to provide your Admin password.
4 - reboot. Be sure to know your account's username and password as you will be asked to log in with it.
5 - run the application again and determine if the problem(s) is fixed.
6 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Home/Library/Preferences folder.
B - Open the Preferences folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Home/Library/Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace or Skip button.
D - reboot.
7 - If the problem is NOT fixed, drag the contents of the Preference folder on the Desktop into the Home/Library/Preference folder and replace the entire contents that were created by clicking on Replace.
8 - reboot and you're back as square one.
Note: keep the Preference folder on the desktop until you're sure all registration info for your apps are working. If not you can copy the required files from the desktop pref folder to the working one. -
IPhoto Stuck on "Loading Images"...
I just uploaded about 1000 pictures to iPhoto and at first it was having trouble recognizing my camera and was acting a bit sluggish. I got all of the photos uploaded but during that process it quit twice unexpectedly.
On the last reboot, there was a message that said that it might be possible to fix the problem if I reset something and relaunched it, but I just chose to relaunch without resetting. Now when I open iPhoto, none of my pictures or albums come up, it just keeps saying "Loading Images" with the scroll spinning next to it.
I tried to trash the pfile, but the problem persists.
*Please help!*Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Iphoto hid my pictures when opening a CD of pictures
my sisters wedding picture cd asked me for an update before i could open it in iphoto, then when i went to events only the pictures from her cd were in iphoto. now i have a bunch of icons on my desktop and NONE of my 3,000 pictures can be found in iphoto, however my desktop pictures are still rotating my pictures

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:

IPhoto defaults to iPhone when opened
When I open iPhoto with my iPhone attached it always defaults to Devices, i.e. my iPhone even if there are no photos on it. I would prefer it to default to Events. Is there any way to achieve this?

do not have your phone connected - If you do then iPhoto is going to go to it to see if there are photos to import
Now that you know what it is going to do always then you obviously know that there is no way to change that

Stays on loading when opening up facebook
When I try to open up facebook in FF it just stays on loading. Other sites are loading fine, and Facebook works fine with IE. Was working perfectly fine last night.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
