IPhoto suddenly stopped opening

I'm running iPhoto on Mac OS X (10.6.8) and have not had any difficulties with this program until yesterday. When I open the iPhoto the window appears and iPhoto menu appears in the top left hand corner of the screen. The window itself is blank white. A colorful spinner appears where my mouse pointer should be. The entire application is unreponsive, I am unable to close the application or access the menu.
I tried to leave it alone for a while (couple hours) and nothing changed. I have to reset the computer every time this happens to close the file.
Any suggestions?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

OPen Disk Utility & verify the drive first, if it says it needs repair get back to us, if not hold OPtion or alt key when opening iPhoto, see if you can choose the Library to rebuild.

Does it not work either way? Sending and receiving? Did you check the settings and make sure that nothing has changed? If you can receive email, but not send it, check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

Why did my downloads to my Mac suddenly stop opening up after downloading?

I bought a MacBook Pro about a week ago and everything has been going great! Once I got past the Photoshop serial number issue, editing photos has been amazing compared to the pc I was using prior. I was able to download my add-ons and everything was working until all of a sudden when I went to download more photoshop software, my downloads stopped opening up. It is not just the downloads from a certain source, it is any download, .dmg and pse. Any ideas?? Thank you!!

my iPhoto suddently stopped working. it won't launch when i plug in my iphone, and it open when i click on it. menu bar does appear, though.

added information: i tried to hold down command and comman/option keys while clicking on iphoto - nothing happens.

How to I get iPhoto to stop opening in fullscreen mode?

Every time I open iPhoto, it opens in fullscreen mode. It's as if there is a setting that has been set for it to do it(though I've checked the settings and there's no such thing). I usually exit fullscreen mode in the usual way and it cooperates, but then sure enough, the next time I open it up, it's in fullscreen mode again. Additionally, perhaps it is linked to this problem, everytime I open iPhoto, it tells me that "iPhoto has detected inconsistencies in your[my] library" and that I should "click Repair to avoid any potential problems". I've clicked repair numerous times but it still gives me the same message the next time I start the program. I've tried deleting the iPhoto plist file and that has not helped either.
Another side note that may be similar is that Terminal always opens in fullscreen just like iPhoto.

But basically, you do the following:
1. Navigate to "~/Library/Saved Application State/"
2. Find "com.apple.iPhoto.savedState"
3. Move it to the Trash
4. Launch iPhoto
Also, to solve the issue involving "Repairing" the Library, I had to navigate to the file "iPhoto library" (in ~/Users/dro8654/Pictures) and edit its "Sharing & Permissions" preferences such that only MY user was allowed to "Read & Write"

Photoshop Suddenly Stopped Opening Files

Suddenly Photoshop CC will not open any files. I was in the middle of processing photos, finished one up, saved it and tried to open a new file... and nothing. No error message. When I try to open a file, Photoshop lets me browse to the file and click on it, but then nothing happens. I've tried using Lightroom (which works just fine) to "edit in Photoshop" and Photoshop opens, but the photo never loads or even acts like it is loading. I've tried RAW files and JPEGS. Other editing software on my computer opens photos just fine. This happened BEFORE I installed the most recent Windows updates, so it's not that. I uninstalled Photoshop CC and re-installed. I've restarted my computer. I've completely shut down my computer and restarted. Nothing works and I've got 35 photos to edit by tomorrow morning. $9.99 a month sounded like an awesome deal, but my old CS4 was at least reliable. I'm on Windows 7. I do not have apps running. Nothing changed in the 10 minutes when I edited a photo and saved it and tried to open another one. There is no malware on the computer. And the only suggestion I've seen in the forums so far is to re-install the OS- which is ridiculous. I'll uninstall Photoshop and move to GIMP before I reinstall my entire OS because Photoshop suddenly quit.
Suggestions?

Restart your computer to make sure you have a nice clean working environment. Open Task Manager, and try to open a JPG. Do you see any clues under the Task manager Processes tab? Any double instances of the same process, for instance?
Is anything else opening with Photoshop? Plugins, or extensions? Do you still have Photoshop CC 14.2 installed and have you tried it? That might get you past the current rush job.

I am using OS X 10.6.8 and Lightroom 4. Lightroom suddenly stopped opening.

It gives me an error message that the program unexpectedly closed when it never opened to begin with. I'm not sure where to even start. Any recommendations?

It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Help! I need iPhoto to *STOP* opening...

Every time I plug in a card reader with a CF card in it, iPhoto opens. I don't USE iPhoto, and I don't have the time to wait for it to load, then close it.
I looked through preferences, but didnt see anything.
did i miss something? thanks in advance.

Launch Image Capture (in your applications folder) and in the Preferences to that app you can decide what happens when a camera is connected. (To your Mac a CF card is a camera).

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff: What version of iPhoto. What version of the Operating System. Details. What were you doing when the problem arose? Did it ever work properly? Step-by-step descriptions of how you got to this issue. If something doesn't work, are there error messages? What happens when you try to do this thing? And what steps have you tried already to solve the issue. With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that a helper is simply guessing. With information, s/he may be able to get your issue resolved sooner.

Firefox suddenly stopped opening webpages, while other browser work properly. I checked Proxy settings and everything that is mentioned in the central help page, but still no solution found...

In addition, i tried to re-install Firefox many times, without a result. In the time these lines are written, I am using Google Chrome to surf the web.
Neither proxy settings, nor the true/false ipV6 values helped.
The '''"symptoms"''' are as following:
--> The programm itself starts correctly, at usual speed, with no crashes or error messages to pop-up.

These Error messages appear in the Error Console of the just now downloaded Firefox 4.0. In the previous version, 3.6.12, before removing it, I noticed two more error messages in the error console, like the two last as listed above: With the nema ERROR.
I am forced now to use Chrome, and I dislike that!
Some could suspect that Google has sabbotaged firefox to get its popularity by forcing users to change browsing programms by giving them a hidden worm..?? :P

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

When I attempt to open a Safari window on my first-generation iPad, it opens to a blank screen. I can see the web address bar and the search box, but the rest of the page is white. I cleared cookies, history, and cache, but still nothing happens. The iPad is 3G, and I have tried to open Safari using both 3G and my home WiFi. My wife has an iPad 3 WiFi, and hers opens without issue. Any suggestions on what I might do? Thanks!

1. Double-click the Home button to close all Inactive Apps in Task Bar
2. Hold the Apps in Task Bar down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close Apps
4. Tap center of screen to return to Home Screen
5. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider

PS Elements 6 suddenly stopped opening Editor

Doesn't give a code or reason, just says a problem opening Editor. Do I need to reinstall the software or is there a shortcut to fix it?

Has worked on this pc for ages
I havent done anything to my pc recently, like download new software.
Tried everything i can think off, inc resintalling it.
I click on the icon, the circular processing symbols flashes for a second, and then nothing - it wont open.
Any help HUGELY appreciated!

Let's see whether this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
