IPhoto syncing videos taken on my camera

I am having trouble getting the videos that are taken on my camera to sync to my iPad. I checked on the help, and is says that maybe the video format needs to be changed. Anyone have any suggestions?

In iTunes there is an option in the Advanced Tab to Create iPad or Apple TV Version or videos. That works for some video formats to convert the video format to one supported by the iPad. Another is to uses a conversion program such as HandBrake (Mac).

Suddenly my iTunes will no longer sync video taken on the iPhone. Why?

I have this question too.  I made my own video on my iPhone 4S.  I want to put it on my iPad.  I synced it to my iPhoto, and trying now to move it to iPad.  The computer WILL NOT do this.  Why not? I occasionally get messages it's not in a correct format, but for God's sake, I filmed it on the phone, in whatever format Apple uses.  ***?

  • Does iCloud sync videos taken on my iPod touch?

Can anyone please tell me if iCloud syncs videos taken on my iPod touch and if so, where do I find them?  Thank you.

Videos and photos in your camera roll are backed up when you back up to iCloud. However back up is for restoring your iOS device, you cannot selectively access or restore individual files in the iCloud backup.

  • I can not synchronize the videos taken with my camera from my PC to IPad

Hello everybody, I have a problem, I can not synchronize the videos taken with my camera from my PC to IPad (sorry, in my last question I put iPhone but is iPad )

Are they in a compatible format ? The iPad natively supports (from here)
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
If your camera's videos aren't in any of those formats then you will either need to find a third-party app that doesor a PC program that can convert them prior to syncing. If you can get them into your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library but they don't sync, then have you tried Advanced > Create iPad Version and then syncing those versions ?

  • Syncing videos taken with iPhone 3GS to iPhoto and back to iPhone again!

    Sorry,
I know this has been asked and answered many times over on this forum I still don't understand why these won't sync back?
Videos taken with iPhone 3GS. They will play on iPhone. Now synced back to iMac. Videos will play on iPhoto. They will not sync back to iPhone. Yes, the option under the iPhone in iTunes (Photos>Sync Photos From [iPhoto]>All photos and albums>Include Videos is checked.
    Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Thanks,
I will give that a try. But why in the world did they put that option in the iPhone Sync menu in iTunes under the Photos tab if it does nothing at all??

  • Does wifi-sync sync videos taken on my iphone?

I know that photostream won't sync videos, but what about when my phone automatically syncs over wifi? If so, is there someplace where I have to go to enable it?
    Thanks.

I take video with my iPhone 4S of hockey games. One file for each period of some 25 to 30 minutes. The file sizes are around 4 GB for each period.
Have you tried to copy 12 GB of video files wirelessly? Good luck with that.
My video files are so large that sharing by any other means than "Sneaker Net" ie hard drive to hard drive, is impractical.
So the short answer to your question might be: "Not going to happen"

  • HT4236 How do I transfer videos taken on my camera from my MacBook Air to iPad or iPhone

I have been able to transfer the photos from Iphoto to my Iphone and Ipad but the videos I have taken on my Panasonic camera will not transfer to the Iphone or Ipad.  I was advised to drag them to Itunes - that does not work.  Is there an easy way to do this?

Your videos are saved in Photos. There is no storage capability in the Apple TV. You can only view them by streaming the videos via Air Play. Use AirPlay to wirelessly stream content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
I don't know which iPad you have so this may not apply but if you want transfer your videos to your iPad follow the steps in this article: iMovie for iOS (iPad): Transfer video and photos between devices

  • Syncing video from canon (mov) vs panasonic (avchd) cameras

I'm about to purchase either the Canon Powershot SX210IS or the Panasonic Lumix DMZ-TZ10 camera. I previously had a Canon Powershot SD750, which recorded video in .avi. I noticed that when my iphone would sync with iphoto, it would sync videos taken by my iphone back into my iphone photos application, but it would not sync the .avi video from my canon. It's been my assumption that the newer canons, which record video in MOV (H.264 + Linear PCM) would sync into the iphone photos app just as the iphone videos do. Is that assumption correct? The panasonic records video in AVCHD Lite / QuickTime Motion JPEG. Would either or both of those formats import into iphoto and subsequently back into my iphone?

I'm about to purchase either the Canon Powershot SX210IS or the Panasonic Lumix DMZ-TZ10 camera.
I looked at those but then settled on the Sony DSC-HX5V instead of the Panasonic. Have a look.

They'll import into iMovie for editing and can then be exported into an iPhone compatible format for syncing and viewing on the iPhone.

  • AVCHD - Iphoto does not import videos taken with Panasonic DMC-TZ7

    Hi,
I come from the Iphoto forum in which I was told that if Quicktime can support AVCHD format, then I can import the videos taken with my camera (Panasonic DMC-TZ7 making ACVHD lite) directly into my Iphoto library. I found that easy to be able to look at all pictures and videos in the same library/software.
Do you know when quicktime is supposed to be updated ?
    Regards,

Thanks for this very quick answer.
Do you have any idea when this format is supposed to be supported by Iphoto : until now I found so nice to be able to have in my Iphoto library both pictures and videos...
I am quite new to Mac and being obliged to use two softwares for "the same" purpose make me feel like going back to the PC universe !

  • Can you move a video taken on the iPad from the camera roll to 'Videos' without syncing through iPhoto?

Pretty simple question that I can not figure out the answer to. Can you move a video taken on the iPad from the camera roll to 'videos' on the go?

I can do it on my iPhone and, according to the iPad manual (p. 58), you can do it on an iPad.
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

You don't if they are shot in AVCHD. You use iMovie for that material.

  • Syncing videos to iPhone from iPhoto

I have a iPhoto 09 and an iPhone 3GS. I currently use Events as the primary organizational tool for my photos. I have a few Events that also have videos (taken from point and shoot cameras) in the .mov format. I would like these videos to sync with my events onto my iPhone so when I show people my pictures, I can show the videos at the appropriate times (and not have to go over to the iPod function, etc).
I was wondering what the best method is to convert my video (which I would think is playable in the iPhone b/c its .mov) to a playable format for the iPhone, while keeping the meta data (creation date, etc, so that it says in the appropriate place in the Event).
Any suggestions? In particular I'm working on an event with Videos from a Canon Powershot, and I believe the videos are "HD"
    Thanks for the help.

The easiest way is to use iMovie. The videos you have in iPhoto should show up in the source list in iMovie. Create a new project in iMovie for each video you want. You can create a single project and add all the movies or create a different project for each movie. You don't have to edit the clips if you don't want to.
When you're ready, for each project in iMovie choose Share->iTunes... and make sure iPhone is one of the destinations. iMovie will compress the movies to make them compatible with the iPhone and they will be stored in iTunes. You can then sync your iPhone with iTunes.

  • Why won't video taken on iPad2 sync to Macbook?

    Hi -
I need to get a reply from someone who is using all apple devices becauser I understand the PC experience may be different.
I want to get video I took with my iPad2 to my MacBook.  The videos are too big to email and they have not transferred via iCloud.
I  sync'd my iPad2 with the Mac in the normal way but they did not come over (I had "include video" checked) with some photos.  The photos came over to the Macbook but not the videos.
I even tried to transfer them using DropBox but because the video file is over 180MB - I wasn't allowed that transfer.  Even so - I shouldn't have to use any other anything to transfer files from one apple product to another so I'm not interested in those solutions.  I would prefer for it to "just work".
If I knew the exact steps I could get it done in less than the 2+ hours I've already spent.
Is there a way to drag from one device to another?
How do I get videos taken with the iPad2 to my MacBook??
    TIA
    J2

You should be able to copy them off via iPhoto, Aperture, Image Capture : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

  • Syncing Videos in iPhoto with Apple TV

In syncing iPhoto to iTunes both pix and videos taken on my iPhone sync up and I have checked the box, 'sync videos', in iTunes/Devices/iPhone/Photos tab. The pics come over to Apple TV without problem and I can view them thereon via My Photos. However, the video doesn't come across. Am I missing something or this not currently possible?

Hello, I have this problem. My Itunes Library is located on external drive. Where exactly should I place the file. Once in place what should be done next so the file can be accessed by ATV?
the location of the library is irrelevant really.
just import the file(s) into itunes using File > Add To Library.
if itunes is configured correctly then it will import to wherever your itunes library is hosted.
if the file(s) isn't already appletv compatible, then right click on the file and choose "create appletv version"
