IPhoto takes long time to import Photos and Videos

From a software standpoint why iPhoto sometimes takes so long to import Pictures and Videos?
Example Scenario:
on the iPhone 5 - iOS 7 there are:
2851 Photos in Camera Roll
1000 Photos in Photo Stream
51 Videos (each videos average of 3 minutes long)
on the MAC - OS X 10.9
iPhoto start to import photo, and more or less, after importing almost 500 photos, just get stop at one particular photo and thats it.
What are the reason?
Thank you

Thank you leonie,
so my question is why a photo became corrupted in the iPhone?
Step 1
Take a Photo
Step 2
The taken photo goes into Cameral Roll
What are the reason that became corrupted?
Thanks

  • SL takes longer time to start up and shut down after "IceClean".

    Greetings,
After "IceClean" (both maintenance and cleanup), SL seems (obviously) to take longer time to start up and shut down.
Any idea why and how can I resolve it?
    Thank you so much.
    Cheers.

    Hi,
I've finally able to solve the problem. The problem was due to start up item. There were 2 trial application (expired long ago) in the folder. After clearing the application, start up and shut down are fast as light.
I think I've "awaken" the start up application after "IceClean" as IceClean has deleted their log file or something like that and therefore the applications have to run again.
In order to be fair to IceClean, it is my fault to be blamed.
    Thanks again.
    Cheers

  • It takes longer to open my music and videos

I want to listen my music or watch my viedos on my ipod touch but it takes a long time to open music and video???
    why??
and how can i solve it????

    Hello Mariana,
Have you tried a hard reset to see if that makes a difference?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If the issue still persists, there may be a few corrupt files somewhere.  So try restoring your iPod from a previous backup via iTunes.
And from there restore it to factory defaults if necessary.  There corrupt files may be in the backup as well.

Importing photos and videos from a previous version of Photoshop Elements or Premiere Elements.

The title implies "importing photos & videos from previous versions" and only deals with "Organizer".  It does not mention if regular "JPG" or other formats need to change.   It does not discuss if images have been moved from one location to another folder or directory.  It does not discuss any issues of previous versions or backward compatability of formats.

  • Import photos and video into different folders

Hi, is there any way to import photos and videos into seperate folders?
I use lightroom to manage my photos and videos, but the videos are much larger so I prefer they are stored in a different location.
I can import them together and drag the photos to a new folder, but this does not create the same folder heirarchy as importing them would.
Currently I import once for photos and onece for videos, but I'd prefer to just "import"
    Thanks!

Cannot load Photoshop Elements 10. 1st (of 3) disks only gives me option to import photos and videos, not to install. How can I install?

    Are you sure that:
    1. You have the correct disc for your operating system? You have both mac and windows versions on the discs. If you have a mac you want disc 3, not disc 1.
    2. PSE is not already installed?

  • How to import photos and videos from Android device?

    Hello
I just bought Photoshop Elements 11 recently and I'm trying to import photos and videos from my phone, Samsung Galaxy SIII, but having a little trouble.
When I go to "Import from Camera or Card Reader" option and choose my phone from the "Get photos from" drop down menu in "Source" section the "Photo downloader" finds
every single photo and/or video stored on the device and it's memory card but I'm trying to import only photos and/or videos I've shot my self with the phone, witch is kept
in an folder named DCIM, but I simply can't figure out how to so my question is:
How do I import photos and/or videos from my Android device?

Try clicking Advanced button (bottom left) in the downloader dialog. You should then be able to select and deselect thumbnails and import only the ones you give the checkmark.

  • Can't Import: Import Photos and Videos Grayed Out

This is perplexing.   I had this problem in LR3 so I decided to upgrade to LR4 thinking it will be better but same result.  I can't import at all.  Import Photos and Videos Button in the dropdown is grayed out.  Import button is also grayed out!  I can't do anything!
By the way, I'm using Mountain Lion.

Have you tried resetting the Preferences file?

It looks like the card may be the problem, and your best bet is to try the Card Reader - this will make the card accessible by the Finder and you may be able to drag the pics off to the desktop or, at worst, try recover the pics with an app like MediaRecover

  • HT201302 When I try to import photos and videos, I'm told that there are none

When I try to import photos and videos, I'm told that there are none. And when I go into the DCIM folder (the only folder I can see), there are no files inside. What else can I do to move my photos onto my PC?

Are the photos in question in the Camera Roll of the iPad? If not, where on the iPad are they (in what part of what app do they appear)?

  • My Lightroom 5.3 stopped Importing photos and videos.

Lightroom 5.3 stopped Importing photos and videos. Error message appears "Could not copy a file to the requested location."
I uninstalled and reinstalled LR 5.3. Problem still occurs. There must be residual problems not cleared out by the uninstall.
Any Ideas?  I cannot even find a way to contact Adobe by phone or chat. Not even pay for support.  Larry

    Please state your operating system.
    This message might mean either:

  • Taking a long time to import photo(graph)s especially only for new ones...

    Hello.
iPhoto '11 takes a long time to import from a Sony digital camera has thousands of photo(graphs). Most of them were already imported, but why does it need to rescan all of them to import the new ones (e.g., 250 of them)? Is the only way to skip is to remove these old ones from the digital camera's memory?
    Thank you in advance.

Or use several smaller cards instead of one large one - it is your choice, if you want to use a large card with all your images taking during the year, or use several small cards, with just enough space for one shoot. The small cards are more convenient when importing and usually faster, but the large cards are more convenient when taking pictures and are a nice additional yearly backup.
    Thanks.

  • When iPhoto '11 crashes after importing photos and videos, they are gone. How can I retrieve them?

iPhoto '11 randomly crashes after importing/editing/organizing photos and videos. When it does, photos and videos that I've been working on are gone. Pictures taken with iOS devices can be retrieved if they are still in Photo Stream, but videos are gone. Is there anyway I can retrieve photos and pictures that are not saved before iPhoto crashes? Also, is there anyway to prevent it from crashing? It seems iPhoto '11 is doing this since the day 1 I started using it. Thank you.

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library
this should help with the crashes - it may or may not help with the missing videos

  • My iPhoto says it's still importing photos and it won't let my computer shut down, How do I fix this?

I've been trying to shut my computer down since last night after I unplugged my iphone after it synced, and Iphoto still says it's importing photos even after I stopped the import when the phone was done syncing. Is there any way to fix this? Or do I just need to let the computer completely die and restart it that way?

  • Imported photo and video into aperture. Now missing

I imported some photos and video into aperture last night. I also imported 14,000 jpegs from an SD card shot on a gopro. I checked it was all in four seperate folders in aperture and even wached one folders content as a slideshow. I left my Mac on last night. When I returned to do more work all last nights imports were gone. I am no expert in aperture and have had no problems before.
I contacted apple support and was advised to delete aperture (not the library) and get the up to date version from App store. This I did but still no sign.
Where should I be looking. I haver done all the usual searches of the project names I saved etc. HELP

    Thanks Leonie
I have looked at GraphicConverter and I'm considering a purchase. I have been trying various free tools for fiddling with metadata but none have ever been entirely satisfactory.
What I particularly like about Aperture's geotagging is that you can drag and drop on to a Google map - nice and easy. But I hate that I have to export the image in order to embed - I have a decent DSLR now so there's no way I will run those original images through an export process - Aperture definitely does interefere with the image as well as the metadata! I wish Aperture would allow proper writing of metadata to masters - other forums confirm it can only write IPTC metadata, and even that appears to be flaky! I don't want all my information to be tied in to Aperture - each master file should 'stand alone' with all its relevant information intact, for any tool I choose to use to interact with it, or if I should send it to anyone else.
I can't see from their website - is there a user-frendly interface in GraphicConverter for geotagging including a map drag-and-drop? Or do you manually have to enter coordinates in to metadata fields? I assume you can edit IPTC and EXIF metadata to add keywords and things? This would be a useful tool alongside Aperture, to make up for its shortcomings.
I could use GraphicConverter to add geotags (and keywords) prior to import in to Aperture as part of my import process. At least until I get a camera with GPS and then all this will be a thing of the past!
I will investigate with videos and post back here with any results. My research on the web is very inconclusive and it looks like different manufacturers use different conventions for video geotags, so I'll see what I can do!
Personally I find geotags one of the most valuable pieces of metadata I can attach to my personal images and videos, alongside date and time, so i am determined to find a way to do both!!
