IPhoto time/date shifter

Hi,
I use to use some scripts with previous version of iPhoto to edit the time and date of my photos when I mix photos from different cameras (with different time) but they would not work with the iPhoto 08. Does anyone know/have scripts that work with iPhoto 08?
Thanks
Nicolas

Nicolas,
I'm assuming you are trying to modify the date/time stamp to photos that are already managed by iPhoto. Once you have your photos in iPhoto, modifying the EXIF data in the files will not cause any change in what iPhoto sees - iPhoto keeps track of the important header information (including date/time stamp) in its own database. Your change to the underlying file will be unseen by iPhoto.
You can take care of this in one of two ways.
One, use iPhoto's date/time stamp function. Select all the photos you want to change (you can do whole events at a time, too) and use *Photo->Adjust Date and Time...*. You will update each photo by the delta you set against the first photo.
Two, when you take photos form your camera's memory card, put them in an intermediary location (instead of letting iPhoto import directly from the memory card) and run your script there. Once your files are updated, then import them into iPhoto.

  • IPhoto Time/Date Change problem

There is one particular event in my iPhoto program that registered the wrong date when downloaded.  In trying to change it, the program automatically sets the date about 130 years earlier, regardless of what date I type in.  It only happens with this one file.  I have had to change others and they have worked fine.  Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?  After repeated attempts, I'm back to the 1600s!

How are you trying to change the date? iPhoto has two methods - "Photos > Adjust Date and Time" and "Photos > Batch Change > Set Date and Time".
If you not yet have tried "Batch Change", try if that will help, if you use the option "Modify Original File".
Only "Batch Change" will set all selected photos to the same date and time, with an optional increment. So you to correct the images in groups of photos taken at the same time.

  • Shifting time/date for many pictures

When I returned from holiday I forgot to change the time on my camera, so the thousands of pictures I've taken in the last three months are 12 hours off (which sometimes causes the date to be off).
Flickr has a function for shifting the time of pictures, which works nicely. (I guess I'm not the only person to forget to change their camera clock .) I was hoping there was a way to do this in Automator, but if there is I can't figure out how.
Is there any way of shifting the time (and maybe date) without doing it manually for each picture? I know I can batch change, but that sets the time to a specific value, while what I want to do is subtract 12 (or 13) hours for each picture.

I was searching for something else when I came across this thread that might help you with your time changes:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3274468&#3274468
The last two posts there from Old Toad and Ben Thoma mention an app called Joe's iPhoto Date Shifter Script. I wonder if it would work for you.

  • IPhoto Batch Date/Time change Suggestion

I recently traveled overseas with my family to a time zone that was +4:30 from my current location. During our trip I took 800+ photographs from my digital camera, 60+ from my iPhone and lots of video from my camcorder. It didn't occur to me until I got back home that not only did I not set the digital and camcorder to the local time where I was vacationing but also my digital camera had somehow been set 2-days back but with the correct home time. So it was actually 2days 4hours and 30minutes behind the time that it should have been. My iPhone photographs were fine because I set it to the local time as soon as I landed there.
Once I synced my camera & phone photographs I realized my problem as my entire vacation was in a jumbled mess. So then I went through the photographs and split the digital camera and iPhone photographs into 2 albums which was not too hard. Thereafter, I went through the digital camera photographs and adjusted the date/time stamp. Some of them I could do in batches, which is not very easy as you need to look at the current date/time stamp, then select the photographs you want to change and then do the math before making the change. The most of it I had to do individually to make sure they wouldn't get jumbled with the iPhone photographs I had taken. So to say the least, to adjust 800+ photographs took a long time and a lot of effort.
My suggestion is a simple batch change like what is available already, but with the option to advance or regress the date/time stamp letting the system use the current date/time stamp.

That command is the adjust time/date command - not the batch change command
Adjust T/D takes a group of selected photos and applies a constant delta to them thereby correcting for camera setting errors or time zone issues
Also note that this is a user to user support forum not a path to Apple - it is a great plce for questions about how iPhoto works - it is an extremely poor place to make requests for changes since there is no one here who can do that.

  • Iphoto: unwanted date/time change after import

    Two problems:
First Problem: In October, 2012, scanned a photo into my MacMini in JPEG format.  Creation date 10.12.2012 , Modified date 10.12.2012.  This is OK.
This is an old family Christmas photo, so I use "touch -t" command through the Terminal application to change Creation and Modified dates to 12.25.1957 at 2PM (1400.00 hours).  Use Finder/Get Info to check date of JPEG file and confirm change of date and time.
Then, import JPEG file into iPhoto:  iPhoto shows date of JPEG file as 12.25.1957, but time is now 3:34.02PM (1534.02 hours).  Use File/View in Finder to look at iPhoto file and discover that date and time are changed to 12/31/1969 at 7:00 PM (1900.00 hours).  What's going on here?
Second Problem:  Received a JPEG file by email and moved it to the Desktop.   Creation date and Modifed date of the file are the date and time they were downloaded from email onto my MacMini, which is today: 1/30/2012 at 11:30AM.   Use "touch -t" command through Terminal application to change Creation and Modified dates and times to 10/20/2012 at 6PM (which is when the picture was actually taken). Comfirm change through use of Finder/Get Info  capability.
Import JPEG file into iPhoto and time gets changed to 7:34PM (date stays 10/20/2012).   Look at File/Reveal in Finder and the dates are still the date and time of the download from email onto my computer.  What gives?
Iphoto version is 9.4.2.  All system software up-to-date.

That command is the adjust time/date command - not the batch change command
Adjust T/D takes a group of selected photos and applies a constant delta to them thereby correcting for camera setting errors or time zone issues

How do you time/date stamp photos in Iphoto 9, Version 8.1.2?

If the photos were taken with a digital camera they already dated and time stamped. Select a photo and click in the "i" button in the lower left hand corner of the window:
There you will see the date and time the photo was taken.

do we need to take care of the shifts times in BDC?
or do we need to manage it in configurations
if you have any code please send me
    regards

    Hi,
As above said was the also procedure to do the BDC recording.Hope you understand the precedure in detail else have a look @ this.
    1.Goto transaction shdb for recording.
2.There give the recording name starting with Z or Y letter.
3.Click "New Recording" button in the left extreme Application tool bar.
4.You will get a new pop up window Create Recording there give Recording Name"Z r Y" and give the transaction code that you going to record for e.g (PA30,XK01).
5.Leave the Mode as it  is and click "Start Recording".
6.Here you will get the transaction code window for e.g if you are  giving PA30 it will call the corresponding transaction.
7.Start recording by entering the values which you want to record.
8.After recording save the recording and give back.
9.There you find the list of process which is done.
10.Enter your recording name and press enter you will get the program name.

13.Edit your program for uploading the flat file from you legacy system to application server by using CALL FUNCTION "GUI_UPLOAD".
14.Get the flat file and fill it in internal table and pass the internal table values by giving "loop at internal table" after READ DATASET statement.
15.Select the call transaction for small no. of data for large no. of data we have to use session method.(Refer some links for difference between session and call transaction).
16.There by executing the program we will get the output which record are created.

  • Re: removal of time/date stamp

How do I remove the time/date stamp from photos in iphoto?

Where is the time/date stamp? If it is in the EXIF data then you can not remove it but cna modify it - select the photo and use the adjust time/date command under the photos menu
If it is on the photo then it is a part of the picture and can only be removed by editing - retouch or clone tool - you need to turn that feature of the camera off so it will stop putting the information on teh photo

  • Syncing time/date using different cameras in Aperture

    Hello,
    So here's my situation:
I shot an event with a second photographer.
My camera time / date was off by a day so I now have all my images in Aperture
and the second photographers images in the same project (same event after all).
How does one reset/setup the files so that if there's a shot I took at the same moment the other photog took (different angle) too?
This way both our files will flow in sequence of the actual event. Only thought right now is manually move them round but there's 2000 images.
    Hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance for any help
PS: I understand LR can do this but I no longer have it installed.

Ha!! got it and thank you!
So essentially I did what you mentioned however!,
I selected all the photos for the second photographer and then targeted a specific image of a moment that I too captured from another angle at the same time.
I then did Date/Time adjust on her RAW files and it shifted all the photos before and after the one I targeted (with the thick white border selection).
Then, I selected all my images and targeted the shot I had of the same moment and set the same date/time and it then shifted the time before and after on my selection.
Once done I deselected all images and since I had the "sort" set to "Date" they all just fell into sequence!
So thank you for the brain nudge

  • Adjusting time/date won't stick?

I've been importing photos from the early 20th & late 19th centuries.  I can pinpoint the locations using place look up in iPhoto, but when I go to adjust the dates/times, I run into a significant bug.  Every single time I adjust a date earlier than April 23, 1944, the time/date stamp I've created is instantly changed by iPhoto to April 23, 1944.  Then I have to open 'Adjust Date & Time' again and reenter the information for it to stick.  It never sticks the first time around. Normally I wouldn't care too much but I've been working with dozens of old photos and have gotten tired of smarty pants iPhoto unilaterally redating my photos to a random date in 1944.  If the date of a photo comes after 1944, then it calmly accepts it the first time and never quibles with me.

two things - be sure you are using a standard not a custom date format
and adjust the dates in small increments - about 50 years as I remember - doing large adjustments on ole photos does not work

  • TIME DATA IN vl06g

i have an issue with the time data which is always defaulting whenever we use the transactions like example VL06G its defaulting the time data range between today and a week from now...can anyone help where this config is done not to populate any dates in this so that the user will specify what date ranges he wants to select
    Thanks

    Hello Srisha,
I think it may be defaulted in the program itself. first date is system defaul date and second date is +7 days.
The option is click on that date field and delete the line (Shift + F2).
    Hope this helps.

  • Why doesn't Aperture use iPhoto's date logic?

This is how image date logic works in iPhoto. This image date value is used in queries and sorts.
    1. Image date is stored in database.
    2. Initial value taken from image metadata if available.
    3. If image metadata not available, use file date.
    4. User can edit database date (does not change file header).
This is how it seems to work in Aperture 1.5
    1. Image date is stored in database.
    2. Initial value taken from iPhoto database if import from iPhoto.
    3. If not import from iPhoto, initial value taken from image metadata if available.
    4. If image metadata not available, use file date.
    5. User CANNOT edit database date.
I was shocked (really, I'm still stunned) that Aperture 1.5 still does not equal iPhoto's date management capabilities. Since Aperture is a Pro application it's reasonable to have several date fields, but one of them should behave like iPhoto. That metadata field should be useable in queries/filters, sorts, display, book printing, etc. It should be the default date metadata element for all date related operations.
Please note, it's fine that Aperture does not muck with image file (exif) metadata -- that's dangerous. EXIF is a quasi-standard badly implemented.
    So now, my question. Why?
Aperture 1.5 was a huge update. They fixed much more than I thought was possible. It could have been labeled Aperture 3.0. Offering it free to users was a genuine apology, gratefully accepted I'm sure. It took all my strength of will not to order it immediately, waiting instead for the initial reviews to come in.
So there had to be a reason Aperture's Product Manager, Joe Schorr, had not to implement iPhoto's image date behavior. Something he'd thought carefully about.
    What was it?

Perhaps it's just that they don't have infinite resources ?
The big deal (for me) was that they can "import" files but leave them on the filesystem. In true Apple fashion though, they took the extra steps of allowing management of the images within the application (consolidate and relocate). Perhaps the knock-on effects of all the things they did implement prevented them from doing other things...
We see Apple as a corporate entity, master of its domain, all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful within the confines of an Infinite Loop. In reality it's a bunch of people who only have a fixed number of hours in the day to work. Someone takes the decision that X is more important than Y and Y is dropped for this release - it's that simple IMHO.
In any event, I'd like to know how many people worked on Aperture 1.5 - the difference between the Aperture update and the Lightroom update was huge! Do they have lots more engineers/QA, or did they just get more done in the same time-frame ?

    Hi,
You may need to update command w32tm /config /syncfromflags:domhier /update, to change the IntranetServer w32time type to nt5ds (this sets the service to pull from the AD).

If you can pass the reference of 'XY Graph' inside the subVI, you'll be able to update the plot (placed on MAIN VI) from within subVI.
